This is inaccurate. The national anthem of Greece (and Cyprus too) is the first 2 verses of a poem. The poem is 158 verses long, not the anthem. The poem is called "Hymn to Freedom". Trust me, I'm Greek.
But do they sing them all, every time? Or do like, the first few, and save the full one for very special occasions?
The melodized part is the 8 first verses of the poem "Hymn for Liberty." .( 158 stanzas of 4 verses .632 verses total)

Ονλυ the first 2 verses of Solomos's poem constitute our national anthem. Not the whole poem. So there is no laziness just some ignorance on your national anthem on your behalf

In other words, unlike modern times where one day is 24 hours, a winter day would require fewer hours from beginning to end than a summer day. This is because a day started at dawn and ended at dusk
