There's always some inconsiderate asshole who doesn't care how or where they park. The worst are those who decide to occupy spaces designated for people with disabilities. The only people who can legally use these spaces are those who hold a permit, but this doesn't stop selfish drivers from claiming these spots on a daily basis. Also, some bikers think it's OK to park on those stripes that sit either side of a disabled parking space. Guess what? Those stripes aren't for bikes! They're there to allow people with disabilities additional room to manoeuvre.

Nono, it was just one day of advertising somewhere in Moscow. Actually we don't have holograms in parking) But in my fitness club parking people who break the parking rules cant leave it till they pay "fine". That's not good to park your very expensive car just because u are lazy and don't care for other people)))

A policeman parked his car outside where I used to work, he wandered casually across the street to get some lunch. The only problem was.... he had parked across our customer carparks and blocked everyone in for over 15 minutes. He didn't care, even when I yelled at him for it.

It's probably in Ohio. 2 different cars Parked illegally in front of 2 access ramps here. I had the last eye appointment of the day on the 2nd coldest day of the year. The staff came out as I left, locking the door behind us. I saw both ramps were both blocked by cars and couldn't find the owners, with no way to get off the ramp and to my car. I called the Columbus Police Department explaining the situation & that I have Autonomic failure so can't control my body temperature well. I asked if they could send an officer to help get me & my chair off of the sidewalk or tow one of the vehicles. The officer said "Let me get this straight you're taking up a space on our phone line to report something as petty as an ADA violation when soneone could be reporting a real crime like a shooting or home invasion? ADA Violations AREN'T REAL LAWS nor do we trest them as such. My suggestion to you is to just wait. Eventually someone will come back." I went into hypothermia waiting. My temp was 92.3°F

Stop making excuses for their inconsiderate parking habits. Even if there was an emergency, they'd normally have a choice of parking spots, and should only park in disabled parking spots when there's absolutely no choice of nearby parking spots.

This is messed up. What if some punk kid was driving their parents car, and parked here. Now you are damaging the parent's property, b/c of something the kid did? Or what if he borrowed a friends car? People need to think twice. This crosses a line.

your average spray paint will not hurt 99.9% of cars, if it has urethane finish and most cars do, the spray paint can be wiped off with a solvent....seen and done it 100s of times

There are many conditions that cause severe pain and make it hard or painful to walk but do not always require a wheel chair. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Lyme Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Fibromyalgia are just to name a few. A person, myself included, may look fine on the outside but inside is in severe distress.

Everyone who blocks emergency exits or disabled spots should be sprayed with a paint that fades after a day or so or is easily washable... Lot of people feel worse when their family/friends and so on will see it and ask them what they did then if they just pay a fee or drive away. My dad sits in a wheelchair himself, and having to wait hours or getting your car damaged cause people are not respecting the space a disabled parking spot has is really not just a "baddy baddy".

There are some entries here that could serve as examples, but also several that praise self-justice as reasonable. It is not, for it will not change behaviour and is prone to failure, too. Yes, a car parked in a disabled spot should have a sign, but having none does not necessarily mean that it does not park there because a disabled person disembarked it, and it in particular does not mean that it should be damaged.

I agree. I try not to make assumptions about people who park in handicapped spots without a placard. Could be, they just forgot it. Yes, it is a requirement to have the placard displayed on the vehicle if it doesn't have handicapped plates. But i'm not going to ask someone to prove their disability over a parking space. It's simply not my business. My best friend, who had terminal cancer, had someone get in her face after she parked in a handicapped spot. He said, "you don't look disabled to me!" This is why i don't make assumptions.

I agree that able people who wilfully park in disabled spots are jerks, but please...don't take justice into your own hands unless you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that no one in that vehicle is disabled. Many disabilities are invisible. Many people have relatively good days and days with disabling flare-ups. Maybe we forgot our placard, or due to a number of possible obstacles, don't have one at the moment. It SUCKS to get told on a regular basis that "Oh, you can't have a disability, you're too young/pretty/aren't missing a limb/etc." Now imagine someone, on a bad health day, fighting to get through their errands mentally and physically, comes out to find their car has been vandalized by a ~vigilante~. Sincerely, someone who personally and via friends/acquaintances has been harassed and mistreated because know-it-alls didn't believe in our disability.

You should be careful however before making snap judgement... I need a handicap pass (Sometimes) sometimes I don't. Sometimes I forget to put it in the window, judgement should be left only to law enforcement, nobody should be the arbitrator of my disability nor should you jump to conclusions about authenticity. That being said, some of these people are in clear violation such as the double spot, the cops and the motorcycles.

Not that you should have to in the first place, but you should complain to the taxi company (it should be against their policy) and if the same company keeps doing it, report them to the police.

This person parked in a disabled parking spot without a disabled placard. She left her car there for 3 days. She even got a note asking her to move. But she didn't move. The Sheriff's Dept came out and talked to her. She said she would move. She didn't move her car out of the spot. This is a condo community. I am disabled and can barely walk. The parking spot is the spot that is closest for me to make it to my condo. But this inconsiderate person leaves her car here. What kind of person does that? Some of these were clearly wrong. Although I echo what others are saying that sometimes you can't see a disability. My sister has various issues but yet she's young and is not in a wheelchair for the time being. But yet she constantly gets accosted when she parks in the handicap parking. She's even given up parking there even though she's still in pain.

My mom had one leg and refused to use a handicap spot unless my dad had to push her in a wheelchair when she was too weak to use crutches or roll the chair herself. There is just no good reason for people to take up a handicap spot if they don't need it. It is not really that difficult to walk and most of us could do with a little more walking.
