Two main meanings. TL;Dr, characters you think actually should be together, or characters whose becoming/being-together you are interested in exploring, even if them being together is not a good idea or even plausible. In narrow sense: a romantic pairing between characters in the same work that either exists canonically, and you approve of it, or doesn't, and you are rooting for it to develop, or would have preferred over the canonical option for whatever reason (but essentially, the dynamic doesn't interest or convince you). E.g. the shipping 'wars' between the fans who wanted Harry and Hermione to be a thing, and those who preferred Harry with Ginny. In broad sense: characters you think would have an interesting relation(ship) dynamic. Usually a romantic and/or sexual relationship. Often a good dynamic, but of course, also so many flavours of bad.

I remember reading the Diary of an 8 Bit Warrior series when I was younger! The site I read it on sadly kicked me out when I switched schools, since I wasn't registered with a class anymore, but it was a good series, and partially inspired lore for some of my stories!

Personally, I ship ralsei with the player, rather than Kris. We’re the ones controlling them, and ralsei knows it. This is just my opinion though.

A list- Ymir and Historia (AOT) Eren and Mikasa (AOT) Amity and Luz (TOH) Jiro and Momo (MHA) Marinette and Adrien (MLB) Reko and Nao (YTTD) Plz don't hate me for this one Genshin players, but Amber and Collei. Collei is 16 and Amber is 18, so I don't see why it's considered gross, as long as no sexual stuff goes on, but Collei doesn't like people touching her, so chances for that are like super slim to zero anyway.
