We all know the only way this will happen is if the american government turns to be a dictatorship and forces all to get vaccinated which will cause an all out war.

You have polio? Smallpox? Every child in the US have been forced to be vaccinated for those, no one complained about that. People need to grow up. Then we can get back to normal.

I believe in you. It will get easier. Been where you are. After Day 7, it’s easier to breathe, and you itch a lot less. I have faith in you. When the holidays come, just be mindful, and proud of the fact you are working a program. Though we’ve never met, nor are we likely to but know this. I AM PROUD OF YOU.

Keep busy, get rid of toxic relationships, make your environment cleanand get an adult coloring book and other ingrossing books, etc, I have been the parent in this situation and it;s devastating. My adult child has finally come through, after several cycles. I will NEVER give up on anyone with this problem. It is a hard road, but you have a brain and willpower. The drug doesn;t care about you at all, why give it your self worth, your job, your loved ones, and your life? You can learn other coping mechanisms,,go to meetings,

I totally get this. Give your mom big hugs from me and let her know that she’s not alone. I struggle with multiple chronic diseases too. I’m 55 and have been fighting this stuff to some degree since I was 19. We’re keeping the holidays low stress, or trying to, and that helps my pain levels to some degree. So does the weighted blanket I got for Christmas last year! Snuggling with my service dog or our kitties. Hanging out with my daughter. Little things that bring joy and help ease the pain.

Your wish touched me. I've been coping with a chronic pain syndrome for three decades & am legally disabled. You need to know that "life" is not supposed to be "fair". Each of us has different strengths, talents, experiences, temperament, and opportunities. The challenges we face are unique, but each of us absolutely faces them. It has nothing to do with life being "fair" or people "deserving" a harder or easier life. It's just the way it is. You're a wonderfully empathetic person and have a compassionate heart. That will serve you well in life & you'll have the ability to make a powerfully positive impact on others. But don't get bogged down with life being "fair" or not as that leads to bitterness...and bitterness kills the soul soul.soul.soulspi

For myself, my mortgage being paid off. For the world, that we all could get along; that women were treated fairly and not viewed as baby makers or 2nd class citizens. Same with what is referred to as minorities. That everyone would mind there own business when it comes to people's choices as long as they are not illegal or immoral and being GAY or marrying someone of a different race is NOT IMMORAL. That ALL children are wanted.

One reason that some women are viewed as "babymakers" stems from the fact that they don't seem to have the self worth to choose sexual partners who are responsible enough to stick around and be daddys to their babies, So many children are growing up without a father in the home, Grandparents are also raising too many of their Grandchildren.

Let’s get the word out to scrap the presents and the outrageous decor and the gazillions of half eaten meals and just remember that Jesus taught us to address god as father, that he wants us to realize we’re all one, that he came not as a violent supergod with hail and brimstone but as a baby, that he lived through mortal pain, fear and death to explain to us that death is not the end and that our mediocrity and our half arsed attempts at altruism have been mercifully pardoned.

Excess and greed exist with or without a holiday, be it Christmas or any other. And the spiritual aspect of Christmas is actually beautiful; the celebration of life, of hope, of perseverance during difficult times. The materialism you eschew is more prevalent in the American culture than other cultures which celebrate Christmas. But you already have the power to make YOUR Christmas (or any other holiday) experience be exactly what you want it to be-so make it happen! I bet you'll find others who feel the same way you do!

I often wonder what would happen to modern society if we had to ration things. Like what happened during W.W.2. You use something until it falls apart. Then you go , & buy only the necessity.

Thanks Bobby. It's difficult, she was diagnosed in March this year and I find it really hard to talk about it when all I feel is anger, resentment and fear and when the only thing people have to say is "well at least you have the chance of saying goodbye", which isn't untrue but far, FAR from the easy road. The intention is good, I suppose. Anyway, hope you have a wonderful day :)

You have choices, friend. Your needs are more important than their random desires. If they cannot acknowledge you properly, set them adrift and chart a new course with people who care about you and share your interests. It might seem scary at first, and that's ok. You will quickly replace those negative feelings with stronger, happier emotions. Go for it.

I have a wonderful SO, my daughter's happily married and lives in a beautiful house with an adorable furbaby, my parents are still alive and I have a goofball brother who I adore, and I'm Canadian...so, WTH?? Now we're, the children, in our 30's now and we still go to a cinema as a family with my parents and our families. Christmas shopping drops me into a christmas mood too, except i start planning them in september'ish

Enough money to afford a proper dinner and maybe a good a gift for my children and partner, not toys or anything, just a little trip for all of us without worrying how would we pay for our single meal per day. Well, at least we can have a decent meal every day, so maybe just a special enough for all dinner for a change

24th December: Before leaving for work, a small bronze turkey goes in the oven. Cooking it low and slow. Get home from work about 5pm (getting out early this year), check it's done before letting it rest. Take the dogs for a walk. 6pm Stock up the feed for donkeys, ponies, goats, Chickens and ducks. 7pm Order a take-away (Chinese) & feed the dogs their turkey (Not to much, it's got to be balanced with their usual feed otherwise things get messy). Eat dinner once it's arrived and chill out by the fire with a Parisian style hot chocolate and a film. 11pm Norfolk Black Turkey goes in the oven and I go off to bed. 25th December: 6am Christmas morning starts with Kippers, scrambled eggs and toast before a nice long dog walk. 9am Give the wife her present before calling me mam. 10am Go into the kitchen to make a start on the full Irish Christmas dinner. 3pm Dinner is served, followed by pudding, followed by a glass of Amarula on ice plonked down on the sofa with the wife & dogs (A bit of luck, the yule log should still be burning). 7pm Put my soda bread rolls in the oven and take the dogs for another walk, before sharing some cold meat, stuffing & bread sauce inside some nice warm rolls. Then it's just spending time relaxing with the wife. Who knows? maybe another film or some nostalgic TV show, maybe even just chatting all night.

Thank you so much for your question! We are based in Greece, we just became an official not-for-profit about a month ago. We have rescued about 430 stray cats so far (and counting) from the streets and back alleys of Athens, that were either wounded or starving or trapped somewhere. I'm preparing my website, facebook and a Gofundme page right now, as well as a post in BoredPanda with our story and photos.

Might not seem like a big deal, but to look at my family and tell them I fell for an amazing girl without the fear of being kicked out or hated. I live in a pretty strict, religious household and acceptance is extremely unlikely. It would be a perfect holiday if I could spend it with my family as my true self, with no hatred involved.

Seems like religion would lead to understanding, because we're told judge not lest we be judged. Besides, you're still the same child. Still the same son. Still the same daughter. Hope you find peace on your journey.

Keep going. I was/am in the same situation, but it will get better, I promise. Something that helps is having a friend that would be willing to let you stay with them for a while as a plan b. It boosts your confidence when you know that you will have a place to go.

Think of it this way. If being referred to as the Grinch is upsetting, you can’t possibly be a Grinch. After all, the Grinch didn’t dislike Christmas, he disliked people. And clearly you like people, so you are way more Whoville, than they are. You could say they are Whovillians *L* (wow, I don’t think I’ve ever punned that much ever …. Thank you *L*)

It is an app where you pay $12.50 a month and you can text with a doctor. The only bad thing is most of the time they tell you to be seen in person.

I’d like to have real hope that we will prevent a severe climate crisis. I would like to go to bed and rise in the morning not worrying about the future of all the species of this earth, including all our innocent children. I would like to have time to do the things I love, such as music, rather than spending most of it fighting for concrete, brave actions all over the world — on the part of business and industry, financial institutions, governments and each one of us. I would like it to all go away.

Many food pantries, churches, schools, and community agencies have toys for struggling families with children. Please try them... that's why such programs exist. Did your parents face their own lean years when starting out? If so, they may have deeper understanding of your struggle. I hope you find a way through this and the commercialization of this season does not weigh you down.

Just remember that above anything else, love yourself first and foremost. Things do get better but unfortunately it takes time. This probably won’t mean anything to many of you Panda addicts but to me this was what made it Christmas. Mathers Black Beer, 8% abv which was meant to be diluted with lemonade, hot milk or added to a tot of whiskey. We only bought it at Christmas and we could have the first of many glasses of black beer and lemonade (a Sheffield Stout) during the evening on Christmas Eve. Mathers was killed off by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer when he re-classified it as an alcoholic beverage, not a mixer so VAT was payable. This made it unprofitable to produce (made in Huddersfield) as a batch was only made once a year. Captain Cook took a supply of black beer on his voyages and set up a processing plant on New Zealand so that his crew would have a source of vitamin c to keep them healthy. During WWII Winston Churchill understood the value and use of black beer especially for miners and insisted that it was not rationed. There is nothing that can recapture the taste and memories of good Christmas times than Mathers Black Beer. And the owners won’t sell the recipe - I’ve tried.

Same. My sister told me she knows where ours is. I told her let me know when he's dead so I can piss on his grave.

Can you call the police or anything? They have places for you to get help and away from him. I know it's very difficult to get away from an abuser. I hope you're able to

Either my 18y.o. step daughter to move out and her father recognize her toxicity. Or for her to finally start being a decent human being. I want a home where I don't feel abused, I have had that far too little in my life.

Very true. I'm tired of parents not taking care of the abuse at a young age. The kids get bigger and then you're constantly afraid in your own house.

Honestly, not sure why this comment is being downvoted. We don't know what your situation is and for all we know, perhaps you never get any presents. And even if you do, there's nothing wrong with making such an innocent comment. I restate what I said below - I hope you get something really cool that you get to enjoy!

If friends who have kids waiting for emergency inpatient psych beds didn't have to wait 50-60 days in the ER. Before the pandemic, the usual wait was a mere 1-2 weeks. Can you imagine having to wait 50 days before they treated a broken arm?

Cancelling Christmas. It has become a huge commercialism, capitalist, anti environment dream of lies. Give me the day off, let me spend time with my kids without any of the pressure and guilt of “if you don’t make it magical your kids lives will be ruined”. Christmas is exhausting and miserable

Hey, are you ok? If you are having thoughts like this you should definitely talk to someone. I went through something similar, it really helps to talk, even if it's just someone online.

I truly hope you are able to get some help and find a reason to live. Maybe your joking but my best friend used to say he was only joking but he wasn't. Wish I would have known better.
