When we were children, all of us had that one thing we really wanted no matter what. We begged our parents for that one particular thing during Christmas or our birthday in hopes of getting it.
It purely depended on luck and whether your parents were down with the idea, whether it was an advanced Barbie doll from a new collection or an impressive Star Wars LEGO kit.
So, Pandas, tell us the first thing that popped into your mind when reading the title—we will be waiting for your answers in the comments!

An Easy Bake Oven. Ooooh, I wanted one SO BAD! Never got it (my parents did the best they could, no blame!) as a kid. For years, every Christmas, I joked, "No Easy Bake... AGAIN!" which became a running theme, into my 30s!! LOL!! The Christmas I was 35, I opened a present and OMG! An Easy Bake Oven!!! My father said, "Now shut up already!!!" HAHAHAHA!!! I finally got it! :D
That pollution is gone, homeless people have homes and all the strays/ abused/ neglected animals have loving homes
Its not exactally a utopia but thats kinda the idea, keep in mind I was like 11 lol
Load More Replies...isn't this what EVERONE wants? I mean I would love this, not gonna lie. It sucks for the homeless, but imagine how the animals feel...and all the hearts that are broken and all of the depressed little kiddos. ((tee hee im one of the :>))It's either these kids get bullied or something happens in their life which makes them either sad and depressed or angry and made at themselves for something "they" did, which isn't true.
a dad who loved me
-Ik It's Personal but, My dad left my Mother and My 4 Siblings for another woman, I also wanted a Father who actually loves me, But also to the rest of my family TvT-
I wanted a younger brother. Got it and kind of wish I hadn't.
Friends who didn't love me and then leave me alone to drown in my tears...
They cant be much friends if that is how they treat you. Talk to us if you have a problem. im sure there are plenty on here that is willing to listen
Yes. We are all bored, and we are all pandas. Ask us if you need any help. It's not like we have anything better to do with our time.
Load More Replies...My mom and dad to come back for me.....
@Billythekid Thanks for your words. It won't be difficult to cut my mom out of my life since she disliked me and said bad things about me. But my dad...He actually talked to me and we made good memories the short time he was with my family. it was really nice, even after I learned he was a thief...
Load More Replies...Friend who were real and didn't play with me so they looked good to other people
Did anybody else have this problem as a kid other then me?
So many people had the same problem as me and i thought i was the only one
Load More Replies...i think a lot of us have wishes that boiled down to "I wish people liked me"
That one Barbie doll cake with the cake and frosting skirt from mijer. Lol does any one else know what I’m talking about?
A set of encyclopedias.
i've always wnated a treehouse. i just wanted to put all my stuff up there and I can be by myself when I wanted to. i had no problem being alone when I was a kid.
Before they cut down the tree in my backyard, my dad thought about building one for me when I was 4. He changed his mind saying I'll grow out of it. Jokes on you dad, I'm 23 and I still want one. (Rest in peace though, he passed away last week)
I always wanted one of those art sets that had everything in it. Paint, markers, colored pencils, erasers, etc.
Once upon a time I was gifted such a set. Within a week I had lost most of the markers and pencils, the paints dried out and I had somehow managed to murder the brush (may it RIP) This was most probably due to my utter lack of organisation skills. And that I had to share with my sister.
to stay up past 9.
bedtimes are horrible when your a kid. as an adult i now cant wait to bedtime. LOL
I always wanted a safe home.
I hope your home is better now! I'm sorry it was bad in the past. o^o we are here for u
Some one that actually likes me and someone to tell me it's ok. My mother left me when I was 5. My grandparents took me in, but they don't really understand me. My dad just moved out of town a few weeks ago, and while I may be bubbly, on the inside I feel like I'm dying...
i am so sorry you had to go through that!!!! I hope your life is better now!! reading stuff like this makes me sad ;-; here is a virtual hug *hugs*
sorry to hear that. Although they dont understand but at least you have your grandparents.
Ever since i was like 6 i wanted world peace (and chocolate)
To eat fruity-flavored sugar bomb cereal (with red dye #2, no less) instead of "plain" cereals like Cheerios and Rice-Crispies.
Omg!! Me toooo! Did you get the sugar-smacks without the sugar. It was like puffed rice cakes. Ugh.
YES! At the time, I thought my parents were the meanest unfairest parents...
Load More Replies...I really just wanted people to be happy and I still do. I always try to put other people before me. and because I did that people thought that I was just a pushover and that I was just the nice kid that they would only talk to me if they needed something. but I mean I don't really care. I just hate it when I see someone upset.
at least I'm not alone;-;
Load More Replies...im the same. I enjoy helping people but i do make it clear that i can have a not so nice side. I always tell my students on their 1st day "you shake my hand i will shake yours if not your loss"
I want friends that actually remember you and stay in touch after you move to a new high school. Oh yeah, and an instant camera. And husky puppies. And a whole house filled with fiction books to myself. (Yeah, that would be le ultimate heaven.)
Imagine though, just chilling around on comfy chairs, slurping a slushie, cuddled up with some puppies whilst reading a book (and then wrecking the Internet in search of fanfictions). What's not to love?!
Got the house full of books problem is they get read and as fiction are useless then
When I was little I was obsessed with American Girl dolls. My best friends had them, but I couldn't afford one, because they costed 115$. So, I was saving up all of my money so I could buy one. It was a very joyful Christmas when my parents gave me a gift-card to meet me halfway.
I wanted one too but my parents got me a cheap knock of and I still have it.
Yeah, I had a knock of for a while, and I still have it.

to not be fat or ugly
If you're kind, considerate, and you're open and accepting of others, you're ahead of a lot of people. I've heard the term "a beautiful person" applied to people with lovely personalities. I've also encountered people who didn't seem attractive at first sight, but became that way after a short conversation. Oh yes, I used to want to be good-looking -- now I'd rather have people describe me as funny and kind.
You are you and don't let anyone put you down on who you are. As long as you are a nice person to meet that is all that matters!
pls, don't down yourself. I'm sure you beautiful just the way you are so keep smiling :)
Wow- um these are alot more sad than i thought- I wanted a Dog and a Tablet and my grandmas cancer to go away.
To be actually treated as a child.
No child should be robbed from their childhood. Life is too serious as it is.
Same. I am, but my mom barely lets me d any activities or hang out with my friends and 95% of people my age have phones but I still don't have one
Do you have people with whom you can sometimes be child-like? At times, I feel like I'm reliving my childhood, but better, with my husband and with a good friend (she really wanted a sister).
Yes. I do now. Sadly, people outside my family circle always used to be a better family for me than my own :)

they are cute when they are young. my 2 kittens have grown now and are a pain at times.
Same. My chocolate lab was so cuuuute. And now... His breath stinks, he runs away, and he barks at everything.

American girl dolls and my mom to stop bothering me about my messy room.
I've tried, to keep it clean, and I have new "Adora" dolls that are just as good and a whole lot cheaper
Load More Replies...A Barbie. I got my wish recently and wish I never asked...
for people to stop teasing me for random stuff: my inability to catch, my height etc and to have loyal friends ( i do have some really good friends but some just randomly started ignoring me for no reason)
Yeah, I kind of have the same thing. I LOOOOVEEEEEEE sports. Like, it's one of my favorite things to do, but my mom holds me back and says that she doesn't want to put me in sports just to try them and see if I like them (I really want to play (american) football, even though I'm a girl. Anyways, so I'm a lot further back than everyone else my age and I try to play basketball, but I'm not very good. I love basketball, and it makes me really sad that I've only played on a team twice (and one of them barely counted because it was in second grade so they didn't teach us a whole lot.) The other day when we were playing kickball, I kept kicking fouls, like, over and over, and over again. And there were two boys on my team that were making fun of me. It didn't hurt my feelings too bad, but when they say stuff over and over again, it kind of gets to you. I seriously was about to punch one of them (and let me tell ya, I have a pretty hard punch) but I didn't because I would get into trouble.
sad :( some kids are just cruel
Load More Replies...My family to stop telling me everything I did wrong.
Books, books, books, and more books! (although I still LOVE reading!)
I love reading books. it puts me in a totally different place away from reality.
Huh. Well there is one book that I LOOOVED (I didn't finish it though and I'm really sad) It's called Mark of the Thief. It's about Ancient Rome. It's really good, I read it in the fifth grade (Although I promise it's not a children's book, it's kind of a teen-read.) You might want to look into it though, if you are okay with the teen-read thing.
Load More Replies...For my mom to be well
To stop existing. My home life wasn't terrible, but I spent most of my childhood trying to be invisible to my volatile father, my authoritarian mother and my siblings, who I could neither trust nor rely on for anything except to bring me negative attention from my parents. I had no place which I felt safe and no one which I could trust.
Wanting to stop existing is a result of being abused as a child, and the most damaging form of abuse is the one that makes the victim say "well, my home life was not awful, but... I wanted to not exist" :(. As one that has had the same wish and the same "but I was not raped or beaten, I just could not trust my parents and my siblings..." excuse for the abusers while I dealt with ptsd and depression for decades, I have a virtual hug for you and the hope that you do not and never will want to cease existing.🌻
I only encountered the idea that I was abused recently. I have never framed my experiences as a child as such and I have trouble processing the idea at all. As crazy as it sounds, it feels disloyal to my family to frame it as abuse.

A younger sister... Nope never happened
i have 3 sisters and 2 brothers and now my mom wants another-_- but this has t last time tho
I have 2 sisters. one was quiet and the other was annoying. so it is a 50/50 on what it is like
My two sisters are manipulative and annoying. But siblings in general like to poke the fire.

trust me, younger brothers are better. They are more likely to do whatever you ask without questioning.
Load More Replies...Attentions and a hamster!! Still want those =(
1. A bunk bed. I saw it in movies and was always fascinated. I got it much later and had top bunk while my sister had bottom. 2. A mermaid barbie. It was suddenly popular and none of my friends had it. I guess it hadn't released in India yet and so I would keep asking my dad to get it for me, as he worked abroad. When I finally got one, the novelty wore out very soon. 3. A white swimsuit, which I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere in some movie wore by someone really cool. Again, I asked my dad to get me one and he got me a hot pink bikini instead. Back then I clearly didn't have the kind of sense that would have told me that anything white would get uncomfortaly sheer when wet.
To grow up.
Im a peter pan fan. I wish I was still a child. too many responsibilities in the adult world. Enjoy being a child while you can.
I have memories of around Christmas time or ANYtime I would go and watch the tv and look at all the commercials and just go “MOMMY I NEED THIS!!!” And it was probably just a pretty Barbie doll. I was around 8 or 9. I still want those memories bc I’m like almost 13, and my mom used to joke abt me asking for everything 😢
My grandkids are the same. The kids channel is over loaded with toy adverts and every thing they see its "I would like that"
All the Time Life Series books.

that is awful nobody should ever have to witness that. PS can you describe what thestrals look likee?

ah, the beauty of siblings. I have five, so I feel your pain. But, see, we're lucky because I have a friend that is one of eleven, so us middle grounders are privileged.
My first husband (children's father) had 8 sibs. I grew up thinking that we had a big family.
Load More Replies...I can thankfully say that i always had my own room until i met the missus.
Lucky for me (I also have 4 siblings) is that I'm older than them. They are all under the age of four, so I could have my own room for privacy reasons.
A dog or cat, my hamster mostly stays with my cousin since she can't travel here.
I know that a lot of people already said this, but friends who listen to me. I had two best friends in 2nd grade. One of them abandoned me to go be friends with 'the cool girl', and the other scared the hell out of me and then didn't apologize. (She pretended to be able to turn into a robot, which was funny, but a when I said the keyword to turn her back into a human (chicken nugget), she 'malfunctioned' and was a robot for the rest of the day.)
ooh no!!! we are on the same boat friend and i hope that there is someone out there that is your real friend. if not (this is out to everyone that wants a real friend) i will be your friend <3
there are plenty of people out there. Its not too late to meet them.
Happiness.
if I could I could give you my happiness but i can't so here is a virtual hug *hug*
I create my own happiness by making other people laugh. something to make you laugh? if you need to make a dental appointment make it for 2.30 (tooth - hurty )
To be eventually taller than my Mum. Never happened.
never really got on with my parents. The first 2 years of my life i never spoke to them.
A mother who cares enough to help me with my homework, take me to school, wake up in the morning to see me, make me dinner when I can't becuase im too young, not have my sister take care of everyone((10y.o)). Stop making us miss school for no reason. Get a job to make money for a place to live. Get a car to get me to my dad's becuase that's the only happy place I have... let me have friends... let me be a child and you be the mother, the real mother I always knew you could be!
I'm sorry. (Sending virtual hugs) My mom is not a terrible mom but she does some very selfish things sometimes, so I understand.
Thanks, I'm sorry your mom did some selfish things. My post is 100% true, my sister taking care of everyone, not having a home, missing school, I probably missed a year's worth of school. She's getting better now, she is finally becoming the mom I knew she could always be. I believed in her when the rest of the world walked out, and when she needed faith. I hope she can realize the pain she put her kids through, step up and be a mother, a mother that is there for her kids when they're crying or hurt emotionally and/or physically.

Load More Replies...When I was a kid I was always drawing My Little Pony or other animated show characters and stories (I was like 7 so they were pretty bad) on whatever paper I could find aka printer paper and notebook paper. One day my sister told me what a sketchbook was. Man, I wanted a sketchbook so bad I would run away from my mom to the art section every time we went to Walmart, but my mom never let me get one and never bought one for me because she thought I was just "going through a phase" with my drawings. 14 years old I start high school art class and I got 3 sketchbooks and filled all of them. And then my sister left me her unused sketchbooks when she went off to collage
This is funny but when i was around 5 my mom said what do you want for christmas and of course i said A UNICORN and i asked my mom for one for like 2 years.

I had a friend who always had the best and newest stuff. I was a bit envious. But oddly I wanted her used nike shoes. They were cool! I didn't know we were poor, I just thought she was lucky.
This is something I wish now, as I'm older...when I was about 6-7, my grandmother had already had 2 separate strokes, and couldn't read or talk. I was learning how to read, and my mom asked if I would read to my grandmother what I was learning...I was too shy and embarrassed to, but now I'd give anything to be able to just be able to read to her. I feel terrible that I didn't, just because I was shy. Don't be shy, guys. You can do it.
