Ah Yes, Spring Has Finally Arrived
Yeah we got that ice storm but last year we got like 8 inches of snow
Load More Replies...I live in Minneapolis and the heavy snow has been melting fast. The sheer amount of garbage and Especially dog poop is astronomical!!!!!! It's outright horrifying and after being back home for almost 30 yrs I never get used to it. But~on the one hand, it's an excellent opportunity to ground-score valuable things that were lost in the huge drifts, on the other it proves that the massive amount of garbage needed to make One vape pen should be Banned. Each year I dedicate myself to looking beyond this in my search for signs of spring. I adore clovers because of this. They can be seen all awesome and green in the dead of winter! They are my sign of hope and Joy!

I love the densely packed variety!! It's obviously been warm for a bit if the dandelion has already started to seed for some of the plants. I've just spent 6 yrs with a yard that has not enough direct sunlight and a terrible erosion problem so that there is no top soil. The typical bugs of all types have been infestations for years because of this. It's hard for Anything to even spring up before getting eaten from underground! I have grown to Adore what Americans consider "weeds". Plantain, Creeping Charlie (beautiful purple blooms), Wood Sorrel, Clover, Purselane etc... All 100% edible too!! I would LOVE to lay on my belly here in the sunshine and study all of the plants at a micro level. I'd be content for hours and hours!!
And I wander for hours in these meadows, they live in a whole micro world of flowers, beetles and butterflies that I try to photograph, it's a truly magical world beautiful in every season, even in winter (officially winter still lasts), here is a group of flowers arriving with the first days of spring, then it gets really crazy! Thank you, I'm sorry I can't convey the smell with the picture 🙂

Being from Minneapolis, I never cared to go see the snow. I never ever Once took for granted the Overwhelming view of the pastures leading down to the shore, with the wide open sky above meeting the sea. The sunrise and sets gave new meaning to life each and Every time they graced life with their display! That Is What Living Is All About!!

I lived in Kula on Haleakala. What is going on here now? We lived in the doctor's house on the Kula Hospital/Sanitarium property when the new clinic addition was first opened. I've looked up the area over the past 33 yrs since I'd lived there and I had to stop doing it! At one point they wanted to repave the highway that led to the fork at the property, where taking a right would lead down a quaint little road that had barbed wire fencing with wooden posts that lead to Hana and ultimately to the Seven Sacred Falls. There was a Very grumpy bull who lived there that only had very old wire keeping him from my sisters and me as we took walks. I know that they put a permanent stop to all further building in Hana, but to me and I'm sure everyone else Born there- there Is NO Room for tearing out Any nature ever! I know locals have been very successful with newer farms. Has this become something like that?
