Well, I seriously doubt it could be published, because I'm playing with other people's intellectual property. Also, recently, I've thought about how people tend to do things like leave bodies unrecovered or undisturbed from shipwrecks, because mucking about with them would be disrespectful. I'm wondering if I'm being similarly disrespectful by in effect exploiting the deaths of those poor detectives for a silly story. At any rate, I hope to post it on sites like FanFiction.net or 'Archive of Our Own' after a bit more polishing, and after AO3 gets their DDOS attack dealt with. Look for Paradocs, by 'Gilliam MacLuir' (or 'Gilliam_MacLuir).

'Paradocs'. Doc Savage and his team join forces with Doctor Who at the 1939 NY World's Fair to fight the Master.

Long ago, I was reading some old Doc Savage pulp novels. 'The Secret in the Sky' was a good yarn with an unsatisfying reveal at the end. I didn't buy who they tried to pass off as the Big Bad. Decades later, I read James Mauro's 'Twilight at the World of Tomorrow', a non-fiction look at the 1939 New York World's Fair. It mentioned the forgotten fact that there was an unsolved terrorist bombing at the Fair that killed two NYPD cops and injured several others. I finally had the thought that these could be merged into one story, glued together by adding Doctor Who. So I wrote 'Paradocs', with Doc Savage and The Doctor teaming up at the '39 Fair to fight The Master. Took 14 months. Doing the research and trying to fit incompatible pieces together was a lot of fun!

You could blend in the word Raid or mission into the chapter names and make it episodes of Rat patrol! The Derelict Raid! The Master Raid! The Ambush Raid! The Raid Aftermath! The Soul searching Raid! The Shed Raid! You get the idea.

    Community Member
2 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

Heh. I remember watching Rat Patrol, back in the '60s. Good times... But Rat Patrol doesn't really have much to do with the World's Fair, Doc Savage, or Doctor Who. Anyway, the chapter titles were just because using only numbers seemed kinda ... 'empty'. And somehow I got the idea that there should be a unifying gimmick on the titles. Some of them are kinda lame.

Thank you. This was an intellectual exercise to try and provide a more satisfying conclusion to 'Secret in the Sky', and to offer a (ridiculous, fictional) explanation for the real bombing. It was also an experiment to see if *could* actually write a book - I've never done that before. If people have a bit of fun reading it, and maybe even learn a factoid or two about history, I'll be happy. As long as the judgement is that it doesn't stink up the joint. Meshing the worlds of Doc Savage and The Doctor - plus keeping it faithful to real history - was an exercise. LOTS of footnotes and references to help readers not familiar with the material.

Thank You. Supposed to be the flower, stem and leaves wrapping around the box but, I noticed that I had not put anything on the back of the box so, I put a cute cloud there. The cloud glows in the dark 😁 and the whole box lights up like a Christmas Tree under a UV Light (Black Light) 😎 which makes it stand out...simular to 3D

I love this!! I would not be able to keep it though just as I had issues with t-shirts with puffy paint designs. I can't resist peeling it off and then it makes me Sad because I ruined it.

Yes, I am. It wasn't in too bad of a shape, but the wood needs to be refinished and the insides of the drawers need to be relined.

Anzula Squishy in Prince (the purple) and Biscotte Bis-Sock in Charbon! Highly recommend, they knit up so fast and there's almost no visible difference between the two brands.

Reminds me of a real 20 Mule Team Borax model my Dad made when he was a kid, it was long and awesome... one day I had the stereo up real loud, the speaker was on same shelf, and it fell 8 feet and smashed :'-( he went with it but I have never forgiven myself after 35+ years :'-( :'-( :'-(

I love this it's adorable, but I just wanted to point out that it's "dessert" "not "desert". The difference is the number of "s" s. There is one "s" in desert (as in, sand dunes and cacti), and you can remember this because it's lonely in the desert. There is two "s"s in dessert (as in sweet food after dinner), and you can remember because you share dessert with other people. Again, love the doll house!

Hey! Come on down! Last year was an absolute blast. Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin's High Noon Saloon. Big shout out to the folks from November Criminals who inspired (and helped) me to create a kid friendly winter version of their WONDERFUL Milwaukee Polka Riot.
