So recently one of the people who I used to be really good friends with and I finally split up. She was very toxic and controlling of me and I really did not like it and when I spoke up for myself, she admitted to manipulating me and purposely ruining my relationships because she thought that she was "helping me." I started seeing this guy a while ago and he and I recently started dating. The girl however, tried to enter my life again and asked me whether or not I was with anyone and why I'd been avoiding her (we'd both decided to not be friends or so I'd thought. I thought it had been a mutual unfriending) Being her past with my relationships, ( i.e , flirting with my romantic partners, spreading rumours about me and them doing inappropriate things at school, and trying to fight with them and start problems between my friends and them) I simply told her that my relationships were none of her buisness and I left to go about my day. She has now started to spread rumours about me, saying how I'm a lying whore and the such and I'm not sure what to do. Do I leave it alone and hope it blows over or should I say something to her? If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it.

Leave them alone, do not give them the satisfaction of a response, that is what they are after.
