I'm scared of being forgotten...or alone..not as in like no one is around with me or being stuck in an empty room because I love when I have me-time. but more as no friends or no one that cares or notices me. I could be in a room full of people but if I don't know anyone I feel lost. to fill the loneliness I usually get emotionally attached to characters in games/books/movies/shows. but doing that sometimes backfires because they don't really exist then I get really upset...that probably why I'm so obsessed with the undertale sans aus. without them, I would probably be crying in a corner (lol)
or sibling if they aren't a gender
Load More Replies...Reading your paragraph felt like reading my own thoughts. Seriously, that was kinda creepy, how do you feel the exact same way I do?!
The closest I could get was Thanaphobia which is fear of death. I’m not scared OF death, I’m scared of a painful death. I thought this was common but apparently to most people I know they’re just afraid of death period.
That's not a phobia because it is rational to fear a painful death. Don't worry, there's nothing weird about that.
Me too, actually! I’m more afraid of being murdered, but what you said too.
Autophobia ( or monophobia) The fear of loneliness or being alone. I don't want my friend to join the military when they're older, I don't like this quarantine. I'm grateful for my friend letting me join their Minecraft realm.
Okay, thank you for the Boi/Gurl! I take any gender, I don't really care what you call me :D
Load More Replies...Me too! I have like a crazy fear of being alone , quarantine is like living in a hell specifically for me .
I like quarantine a bit because of how I can do what I want with out as much trouble but I dont like being alone most of the time but i am also sort of scared of being WITH other people It is kinda hard
I am an introvert, but there are certain people I never want to leave the side of.
Load More Replies...I have atelophobia, the fear of imperfection.
well, NEWS FLASH, YOU ARE TOTALLY AWESOME AND PERFECT AND IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE IMMA BOP YOU ON THE HEAD <3333333333333
No one is perfect, even though some people think others are.
I'm really scared of forgetting stuff. Sounds weird but it freaks me out
Same. And I'm probably old enough to be your grandma so my fear of memory loss is justified.
Im afraid I cant tell you.
That my reality is not really reality.
I guess this might be a common fear, but I'm absolutely terrified of clowns.
Don't even get me started on pennywise...😳😬
Load More Replies...My mom says she made me a clown cake once but I don't remember it because it was so scary.
I don't like clowns in movies or pictures but if I saw one in real life I would be fine
Load More Replies...I have Vermiphobia, the fear of worms. And it’s not just a tiny fear, I’m legit HORRIFIED of them.
I did not know that was a real thing but I have that to I like inch worms but the pink fat ones are all BLEH and im not just like eww by them I am scared
Yes, me too! I’m not scared of inch worms, they’re technically caterpillars PLUS I think they’re adorable.
Load More Replies...I'm suuuper scared if needles, but I guess a stranger one would be I'm always afraid that someone's reading my mind and my thoughts aren't private. I saw something where someone said whenever a random song gets stuck in your head out of nowhere, it could be your brain's way of protecting thoughts while someone reads your mind.
This is called thought propagation and it is common in schizophrenia, paranoia or PTSD.
I don't think i have PTSD or schizophrenia, but maybe paranoia.
Load More Replies...Melissophobia The fear of bees. Maybe because I was stung when I was small, a couple of inches away from my eye.
I once got stung 5 times in a row because a bee got stuck in my swimsuit. It was very fun.
I that's the case then it was a wasp. Bees die after they sting you, but wasps don't.
Load More Replies...I got stung on the forehead once, I was three and thought tickling a bumblebee would be a good idea.
lol, not to be rude but that is kinda funny
Load More Replies...I got stung by a wasp recently at a football camp, it got stuck in my leg and kinda just sat there like bruuuuhhhhhhh. I didn’t notice for awhile at first, assumed it was just a random pain that I got for no reason. I had to pull it out. Fun times.
I can deal with most s**t, I tell people that I’m afraid of clowns (which are kinda freaky, not gonna lie), but I think the real answer is abandonment.
Like heights, enclosed spaces, spiders, snakes, drowning, dying, that s**t’s all bread and butter to me. And I don’t like people in general or as a whole, but if the few people I love abandoned me, I would just completely lose the will to live.
Load More Replies...i'm Trypophobic actually. Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps. It is not officially recognized as a mental disorder, but may be diagnosed as a specific phobia if excessive fear and distress occur. People may express only disgust to trypophobic imagery. The scientific understanding of trypophobia is limited. please don't let me be the only one.....
I have it too- you're not the only one, I know a bunch of people with it
OMG same! i thought no one else has this 😅 its not really fear, i just get really itchy and start twitching. i also throw up a little, cuz G R O S S
I'm scared of the ocean.
me too but it's mostly like the fear of drowning or getting lost or getting hurt in the ocean.
Me too but its mostly like the possibility of drowning or getting lost or getting hurt
Omg I was affraid to jump in the water there. For 30 minutes I was fighting with myself then jumped, screamed, throw pad on floor and run away begging my partner to get me out back from water
Load More Replies...Scopophobia, fear of being watched and automatonophobia, fear of things like animatronics, puppets, and marionettes.
me too. and the creepy song "being watched" dosent help ether
Load More Replies...Gelotophobia, The fear of being laughed at, Glossophobia, The fear of speaking in front of people, and TechnoScopophobia, The fear of playing video games in front of people.
I’m terrified of Japan (Not the people, but the urban legends)
Yeah.....those are terrifying. Like that one with the girl that asks if she's pretty.
There’s a way out of that, say “You’re average” and run, or throw candy and run for it
Load More Replies...But terrifying urban legends are amazing, but then again I'm a horror lover so...
Yeah. NEVER go on scary for kids and read urban legends. I read them before Halloween (like a week) AND I’M STILL TERRIFIED!
ooh, if you ever want to be scared look up Kuchisake-onna. Pretty creepy
I think I did. They have ALL the legends :/
Load More Replies...I know, It’s weird. (No offense to Japanese people, they are cool.)
I am afraid of really large things. I can be on a ship or in an airplane, but I can't stand next to either one. The thought of being in the ocean and having a huge whale or manatee nearby freaks me out. I know they are harmless, but the shear size freaks me out.
Something similar happens to me too. Sometimes I have nightmares where things get huge, as if they were being seen with zoom in real life, get too big and too close. I hate watching those images in extremely large screens of something getting bigger and bigger, like zooming a planet or a bug. It would creep me out being in a tiny boat watching a transatlantic ship getting closer, or just passing by right next to me... the horror of looking up and don't be able to see where the giant thing ends, just an endless wall in front of me. I don't know if I'm explaining this correctly... :-S
I am absolutely horrified of being alone (Autophobia), the dark (Nyctophobia, or just night in general) and being touched (Haphephobia)
I new a girl who was absolutely terrified at being touched, I tried to hug and console her once when she was sad she screamed and lost her s**t on me.
I'm terrified of driving. I'm perfectly fine riding in a car, but I can't even sit behind the wheel of a parked car without going into a panic attack. When my dad found out that I would never drive, he told me that his mom was the same way and never drove until she was in her 60s. I never knew that. Recently, I found out that my brother's daughter is the same way. She's a teenager and should be learning to drive now but she is too scared and wont. She has no idea about me not driving so it isn't something she is copying from me or anything. If she ever has kids one day I wonder if one of them will be the same way, lol
In my mind, if I drove I would 100% crash and either lose the car or die, guaranteed. There's zero convincing me otherwise. There's just a big ol NOPE banner in my brain.
That's part of what I feel too. I used to say it when I was a little girl and people would be confused why I said it, lol
Load More Replies...I had the same fear. When I was 15 my 20 year old sister was my guardian. She and her boyfriend were always high. He was always driving me places, on the freeway and nodding off. Falling asleep on the freeway!! I was so afraid of dying. I didn't learn to drive until I was 35 and I had to teach myself.
I have a fear of being fearless which is honestly something i can't control and it is awful
I've heard a woman describe the manic part of her bipolar as believing things like "oh I can just reach into this boiling water because it won't hurt me" and she would impulsively do it. Is that kind of what you mean?
I have a fear of watching anime in front of my parents because of reasons
Omg same, I’m like are they gonna think it’s p*rn are they gonna yell at me?! I just wanna watch anime in peace
Me: Watching Zero Two Parents: Why does she sit in the ship like that??
Load More Replies...Acrophobia. The fear of heights. I actually know where this came from. Basically, we were hiking and I dropped my hat. We were on a cliff. My dad went to get my hat and I thought he was gonna fall
Thalassophobia, The fear of the open sea
Might just be me but fear of large crowds, and okay sounds weird but listen I was walking in the woods and saw a random circle and I got really cold , so now seeing circles in the woods scares me
I have atelophobia, fear of imperfection, like not just a small thing. I will have a mini breakdown if whatever I am doing is not PERFECT
I suppose it's what your definition of 'perfect' is. I don't have this fear, however I also need to do something that is in my definition of being 'perfect’. Fortunately, my wife has helped me with this by telling me that she doesn’t like anything being perfect, it just makes things unique and with character (Wow, that just answers why she's with me!).
thalassaphobia!! fear of deep bodies of water. it terrifies me.
I have Entomophobia, fear of bugs
I had this horrible dream once, I was strapped to a bed and at least 1million crickets were crawling all over me, it hurt so bad, they went in my eyes and mouth burrowing into my skin
yessssssssssssssssss same me to once when i was a kid my parents forced me to be in a room with 4 spiders to ty to snap me out of it it didn't help it made
Mostly the fear of abandonment and the fear of nothing after death and just the thought of death in general... it terrifies me.
As far as I remember, I've always felt disturbed when I look at eyes, whether it was a picture or I was looking at someone's eyes. It doesn't bother me as much now, but I have no idea what started it. I've also had experiences with Trypophobia (fear of tightly packed holes) before.
I have have a fear of being seen as weak or vulnerable. I am also scared of my own thoughts and so I became a writer
Dead bugs. Live ones are okay, but dead ones... *shudders*
Reptiles. Dark deep waters, especially the sea. A vacation on the beach is NOT my favorite, although I enjoy the view, I don't want to go anywhere near it. I'm super uncomfortable on boats or ships in general.
Plus, after reading the horror manga Uzumaki years ago, I have been scared of any sight of snails. Highly recommend, a horror masterpiece, help you develop phobia for anything spiral.
I have FOFO- fear of flying objects. I found out when I took softball and i would cry and panic if i saw the ball coming at me.
hmmmm i have a fear of the sun exploding sooner then it is predicted to
True, it could start dying sooner than predicted (4 billion years), but it still would take millions of years to slowly die.
Load More Replies...Cynophobia = a fear of dogs - I really can't be around dogs, and when a dog is off it's lead and running in my direction I start to panic.
Somniphobia - fear of sleeping/going to bed. It's not great and one of the main causes for my insomnia :/ Lucky that I have BP to scroll through though!
Dont know the phobia names, but fear of pain, fear of public speaking, fear of dark enclosed spaces, and fear of asphyxiation.
Being alone is my worst fear this is my second , it scares the hell out of me. My friend thought it would be funny at the fair to get everyone’s attention then leave me up there to talk with no idea what to do
Coulrophobia (fear of clowns) and Agoraphobia (another name for a anxiety disorder i have)
Agoraphobia is the worst. It's not social anxiety, but it gets so close that it's mistaken for it.
is that where you're afraid to leave your home? also my best friend hates clowns. like HATES them
"Fear of places and situations that might cause panic, helplessness, or embarrassment." its basically a deep fear of places that have caused distress. for example, i really, really, really hate closed or high water slides.
Load More Replies...too sum it up, Agoraphobia is the fear of having a panic attack
lets see... being alone and sleeping without a night light (I know that is pretty stupid) and getting my head ripped off by a shark and jelly fish and the dark (only sometimes tho) and falling off high places and im scared of worms hmm I think thats it I dont really know the names of the phobias but yeah
honestly, I can't stand the dark and I think it's just cuz I cant just look around and see what's around me which freaks me out.
I just don’t like the dark I’m not scared OF the dark I’m scared if what’s IN the dark
Most ppl with fear of the dark is not fear of the DARK, it is fear of not being ALONE in the dark, have fun with you nightmares, sorry, just a fact I learned.
Melissophobia. I am terrified of bees since I got stung when I was five years old. I was stung in the middle of my Back while wearing a speedo swim suit. I am agirl my swimsuit had that big hole in the back. i am also scared to come out to my parents and my friends about my sexuality. I am also terrified of the dark and being hurt by those I love.
oh my gosh when I was like nine the same thing happened to me with a bee except the bee was already dead XD
HaHa, The bee stung me and I hit it and killed it but not before it stung me again. I cant even be in the same area as a little sweat bee because of how scared I am of them
Load More Replies...Frosted glass, gives me the heebie jeebies!!
Comin' atcha live from the US of A. Turns out I have a fear of domestic terrorism.
I am afraid of bog knives. Precisely, of accidentally or involuntarily hurting somebody with one. This goes as far, as not having Andy bigger knives in our kitchen (And no - I do NOT intend to harm anybody).
I think it's a moderator that can only do that.
Load More Replies...I'm afraid of letting people know what I'm afraid of because they might use it to scare me.
Idk if this counts but I am scared of bugs. Flies, bees, gnats, you name it. Anything that is tiny and black is a big no no. Like I am T E R R I F I E D of them. Idk why.
My strangest one is a fear of large enclosed spaces. Open spaces are fine. Enclosed spaces are fine. Something like being in a stadium or large mall or driving between mountains freaks me out a bit.
I consider myself brave but know that I think about it I have a lot of phobias 1. Fear of worms 2. Fear of failure 3.Fear of losing someone I love 4.Fear of dead things (ANYTHING that’s dead) 5. Fear of being watched 6. Fear of the world ending when I’m alive And for the weird ones... 7.Fear of my big toe touching the one next to it (if it happens I panic and have to take of my shoe immediately) 8.Fear of the marvel series ending And last but not least... Fear of two pretty best friends it NOT normal
I have emetophobia, which is the obsessive fear of vomiting and just the idea of vomit absolutely paralyzes me. If someone throws up anywhere near me, my body and mind will just shut down. And I know everyone doesn't like vomit, but it's just so intense, that even the thought of throwing up frightens me. So, yeah.
This is exactly my phobia and almost exactly what I was going to write. It’s not that I’m grossed out by vomit (which, of course I am) or that I prefer to avoid it. It’s that seeing, hearing, being near, or even hearing about someone vomiting make my heart race, the blood drains out of my face, and I become weak and obsess over it for hours afterwards. If I think someone might vomit, I will avoid that individual at any cost so that I don’t have to witness it. Incidentally, driven by this fear, I myself have not vomited in the last 15 years.
i have panphobia i freak out about EVERYTHING you've seen me comment? i was too scared until i gather up some corage
THANK YOUUUU its like everyone's like, a muderer or something *NO OFFENSE PEOPLE*
Load More Replies...i am scared of stinkbugs even dead ones. very weird right?
I'm scared of cicadas and even their empty shells they leave behind...it's not weird :)
Cleithrophobia, the fear of being trapped, is often confused with claustrophobia, the fear of enclosed spaces.
Omg that’s what it’s called! I don’t have claustrophobia i just hate being trapped
Clowns, Sequins, and dead animals
Yeah, I'm not really afraid of them, they just make me sad
Load More Replies...I have anablepophobia. I can't look up standing on high buildings or other high places.
Omg I have this, I thought it was just me, if I am kneeling on a counter reaching for something on a shelf or something I CANNOT look up or I get a bad feeling. But if I am on a balcony or something it is fine I think.
I have nephophobia!
yeah it is. at least according to google
Load More Replies...Frankly I'm scared of clouds. And get-togethers get me down, but when you talk it's like WOW, I'm not crazy... Sorry idk if it even says clouds or clowns but...
Pretty sure it says clown but that's fine, I love that song. :)
Load More Replies......im terrified of people named jeff and im scared that someday everyone will leave me and ill be alll alone forever
Aw no hunny! Hey I hate being alone too so if you ever feel lonely remember I’m out there and then your not so alone anymore
Melissophobia- fear of bees. They never stung me, but I am scared of them. Also Nyctophobia- fear of the dark. Which I see shadows of my nightmares.
WARNING: It's going to sound stupid... I hate the rhythm of certain sounds. It all happened when I was 8 and caught my parents doing a thing. After that, it could've been the simple things where songs could repeat a rhythm, and I couldn't handle the sound. I would literally need to step away from it completely and take a breather. It's been a good 5 or 6 years, and it's not as bad, but I would still need to drown out the sound with something else.
I am afraid of clowns, but I know that's kind of common (coulrophobia). My weird phobia is I am terrified of a certain color of light blue. I have no idea why. I have asked my family if anything happened that would cause that, but there isn't that anyone can think of. I have worked hard to remain cool when I see it (which isn't often) and chant at myself that it's stupid, it's a dumb fear and I'm stronger than that. I shake, I tense up. It's so stupid.
Agrostophobia - fear of grass. Yes, I know it's weird. It stems from my mother who would constantly tell me my while life (yes, even as an adult) to watch where I was walking in case I accidentally stepped in doggo "donations". Now I can's stand near grass without 'seeing' all the grerms and gross stuff that might be hiding in each blade of grass.
I have a ton of weird phobias. I have Automatonaphobia which basically means I’m afraid of humanoid objects such as animatronics and mannequins. Related to that phobia, I also have Submechaniphobia aka the fear of submerged man made objects. It makes me feel icky when I see like, water animatronics or those pictures of the statues under water. I also have a fear of the unknown. I need to know everything that’s happening otherwise I feel unease. Also if my foot touches something in the water that freaks me out. WHAT IS IT?
Kevin Bacon
absolutely did not think this would get any comments..... But yes, something about him freaks me out.
I have ornithophobia- fear of birds and ichthyophobia- fear of fish.
I have Alektorophobia, the fear of chickens. I don't even know why, they just freak me out.
I have a Swallow Syncope, it causes me to pass out when I swallow food or drink beverages. I dread meal time as I never know when it will strike. Guess my fear is consuming/swallowing food or liquids.
Fear of getting sick. Specifically, the kind of sick that comes with the stomach flu. Yes, I have trouble even writing the word, and it's idioms. Yes, I'm aware that this is ridiculous. Emitophobia. I'm not sure on the spelling, or if it's the correct name, because I've only ever heard the name. Can we talk about how moronic it is, that a searching a phobia online will often include a visual representation of the phobia?
This is a wierd one.... but I have a worm phobia. Walking in mud, being outside when it's raining....NOPE! Yeah people make fun of me sometimes
I have a fear of nightmares, like at night I have to tell myself I won’t have a nightmare because mine Are so horrific and scary I wake up crying
Submechanophobia; fear of submerged man-made objects, either partially or entirely underwater. I cannot even look at the photo of a ship underwater, otherwise I start to hyperventilate. For me there is nothing more horrible than the cold, misty, dark waters, and SOMETHING inanimate beyond them.....
Molluscophobia. I hate slugs and snails, I have no idea why but their general sliminess and ooziness just makes me feel ill. I don't like looking at them and I can't bear the thought of touching them.
i also have technophobia the fear of electronics. I hate it because it makes you feel someone is watching you also it knows all about you.
I am terrified to lose my mum and dad. I know they are strong and healthy, but I know they will die one day. I can't imagine life without them.
Nah I'm The One That Should Be Feared
Afraid of falling asleep while playing chess and poke my eyes on the Bishop..
The Queen can be just as hazardous. Sorry if that has exacerbated your fear.
I don't even know if there's a name for it, but certain seeds freak me out. Particularly in apples, cantaloupes, and peppers. Just the abundance of them, how they're arranged. I don't know, it just makes my skin crawl, and I can't even cut up these fruits n' veggies, let alone look at them when they're cut open. I'll gladly eat the fruit though, just as long as someone else gets rid of the creepy part.
Nyctophobia, an excessive or irrational fear of darkness. I also just have general anxiety so I’m kinda scared of everything
I have myrmecophobia (fear of ants) and apiphobia (fear of bees). I also have this bizzare fear that a ceiling fan will fall from the ceiling and crush me.
Im afraid of mirrors. I know it sounds weird, but I always see this ugly monster in them whenever I look at them. Strangely I also see it in bodies of water and on glass. It’s terrifying, and I even see it when I get my photo taken!
It is pretty normal to feel fear, but when it becomes persistent to the point of avoiding everyday life it becomes a phobia. Like if a fear of choking caused you to avoid eating certain foods or even eating alone at all, or you can't take medication without panicking, then it's crossed into a phobia. Same with OCD, it's not OCD to want things clean, but it might be if you feel like if you don't clean something terrible will happen. Fear is such an interesting emotion, it's so useful for some things, but so detrimental for others. It can help you focus or make you fall apart.
i wouldn't say it's a phobia but holes freak me out. the smaller they get,the creepier
