Artist Takes Characters From Pop Culture And Switches Their Gender (24 Pics)
Canadian artist and illustrator Sakimi Chan created an exciting series of gender-bend pieces of famous characters. In this series, the 29-year-old artist, also known as Sakisakimi, takes characters from pop culture and flips their gender and the results are fantastic. Many of these gender-switched characters look even more attractive than before!

Pocahontas
Hades
Well, if this happens in real life, Disney needs Morena Baccarin to play her.
It doesn't?!?!?!?! i think she looks quite powerful & menacing in her own way
Load More Replies...Her dreamlike digital portraits depict characters from Disney, Studio Ghibli movies, video games (like League of Legends and The Legend of Zelda), and even well-known animated movie classics like The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her illustrations feature feminine Hades from the animated feature film Hercules, masculine Pocahontas from the Disney movie classic of the same name, a sophisticated male version of Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, Wizard Howl and Sophie Hatter from one of the most famous Studio Ghibli movie classics with their genders switched, and much more.
Cruella De Vil
He would have made an epic Cruella judging by how he played the goblin king.
Load More Replies...Yeah, I don't understand that. Not just bending the gender, but beautifying them. Would like to see a more accurate version.
Load More Replies...Nightclub owner for a club where you can bring your dog but might not get to leave with it
Elsa
This one's great. I love how majestic it is. And the white hair is brilliant.
For her gender-bent series, the artist tries to stay true to the original design and look to make her portraits look realistic and just on-point. However, she always adds her own creative touch to make them distinct and unique. Most of them have features that you can find in popular Japanese anime or manga.
Esmeralda
Maleficent
I know he's supposed to be maleficent, but he kinda looks like chernabog from Fantasia
Yah he does. But he also looks like a straight-up demon.
Load More Replies...The artist is self-taught, but she received some guidance from some of her college teachers and game companies, which she has worked for. Most of her skills, though, came from hard work and experimenting a lot. Sakimi Chan is very picky when it comes to her work so her digital portraits and dreamlike depictions are always extremely detailed and flawless.
Ursula
This is awesome. But I'll be "that person" and point out that he should have a belly and man boobs. Just to keep it faithful. ♡
"YEEEEEESSSSSSS. Anime girls fear me because I'm hot and have tentacles!"
Phillip And Aurora
Elsa And Jack Frost
ok so Jack looks like someone I'd adopt. I want to be her mum....
Looks like somones in lo~ve...Looks like somones in lo~ve! They are beautiful together, but Jackie Frost doesn't look happy.
Wizard Howl And Sophie Hatter
What is this from? Sorry I’m just really ignorant...
Joker
Although it's an amazing illustration I don't get it: why the big boobs and the sexy attitude. The original didn't have his boobs out.
But her small nose and the way her lipstick is smeared is cute. She looks like she has an attitude like mine.
In which incarnation does the joker appear as sexy? I've always thought of the joker as a deranged dower character. Is this an excuse to create lust porn', rather than how the character would be portrayed in the alternative gender?
I really like the art for these and I think they're really cool but Sakimichan is kinda famous for drawing anatomically improbable lewds of anime characters, so I guess she's used to making people more... physically endowed than necessary?
Load More Replies...Reminds me of Bianca "Joker" Steeplechase from "Batman: Thrillkiller" (for her character, imagine if Joker and Poison Ivy had a daughter). Maybe the artist should do genderbends of the different Jokers (Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, Joaquin Phoenix).
Ariel
Excuse you, that is a dinglehopper. 😂
Load More Replies...you cant have too many hot ariel guy thingy person mermans..... I dont know what to call him
Load More Replies...Snow White
Jack Skellington And Sally
I kinda love it but I kinda hate it. Idk what to think. I’m having my 8th crises of the day. BUT I LOVE IT. Ah.
Jessica Rabbit
Hot, but I think the eyes should be green (could just be my monitor)
Ariel
Both versions of ariel exist in the same universe? Which one do you choose? I don't think I like either
Princess Mononoke
Alice And Cheshire Cat
He also wasn't some kind of werebeast. The Cheshire cat was a cat.
Load More Replies...Maybe the artist's take is that Chessy is nonb? Is their gender ever explicitly stated in either the books or the movie?
Load More Replies...Beauty And The Beast
I, for once, would love to see a film where it's the male who's accepting the unconventional inner beauty of an outcast female love interest.
There is one. The movie is called: Penelope. Pretty much like beauty and the beast in reverse.
Load More Replies...The artist probably took some time working on this and the least you could do is to keep those negative thoughts to yourself
Load More Replies...Jack Frost
Elsa And Anna
It is Elsa sly looking smile I think and her piercing eyes 😂
Load More Replies...Elsa
Whole bunch of Elsa's as a guy, no Kristoff's (or Olaf's) as women
Jinx
Superman
She just looks like Supergirl. You could have at least given her black hair.
I agree. In fact, my brain was like, "just Supergirl", then I read the caption and "oooohhhhh...." Still I can't help thinking this is some kind of mistake.
Load More Replies...This is Super Girl. It's a great drawing of her, but in no way is this a female take on Superman.
Yeah, not overly fond of the sexualization of EVERYONE, but absolutely technically well done.
I'm totally cool with the sexualization, at least of most of the males based on female characters. (ie: Jessica Rabbit, Ariel, etc.) The original versions were hyper-sexualized too. It's only fair to make them eye candy again.
Load More Replies...I really like them, but why do they all have these big boobs? Is this what makes them "female"? Sorry even the skeleton has a... prominent chest. Otherwise, great artwork 😘
yeah, skeleton with breasts is a bit...not anatomical I guess...its a skeleton, there's no soft tissue there anymore.... ><
Load More Replies...It'd be nice if Disney would make a movie about a prince who needs rescuing sometime. Non-hetero romances would be nice too, especially in a kids movie.
I don't know why this is down voted, I'd like to see this too
Load More Replies...Usually when there is an article with disney-drawings people moan a lot about "Not again" "Unoriginal" ect. Not here. Which shows the artist really did a top notch job here. I love it
Male versions could have been more masculine, if the point was a gender-switch... Those guys are in fact designed as females with just abs instead of boobs...
