On the Internet, words often don't mean what they do in the real world. For example, "tea" is not just a hot beverage anymore: it's all the gossip and shocking information that people like to chat about. Sipping tea also means to sit back, relax, and watch the chaos of online life unfold before your eyes.
This is where the name of the subreddit "Sips Tea" comes from. It's an online community that shares the best memes of the moment and has crowned itself "home of the best content on the internet." Check out whether that claim is true by scrolling through the newest selection of memes from the group!

The "Sips Tea" subreddit is not just a place for memes and funny pictures. According to its bio, it's also "Reddit's #1 source for entertainment, news, and pop culture." Today, most people get their news online, but Reddit isn't the number one source for most Americans.
According to a 2025 Pew Research Center survey, only 9% of Americans get their news from Reddit. The most popular platforms through which people stay informed are Facebook (38%) and YouTube (35%). Others go to Instagram (20%), TikTok (20%) or X, formerly known as Twitter (12%), to get their news.

If she paid extra for it, it's hers. And she is not the bad guy here.
Why do so many parents expect the world to shift on its axis just so they don't have to tell their child 'no'?
Load More Replies...How could anyone think this is OK? If I paid for the effing seat I'm sitting in it!
I always agree to switch....for $200 cash, upfront! If you want what I paid for then I expect to be reimbursed and compensated for the inconvenience.
Good for her! She paid for it. I'd be doing the same thing. I DISPISE ALL TYPES OF ENTITLEMENT! Kiddo and mommy learned a lesson.
If your kid really wants to know what the clouds look like, go sit out on the wing and describe them to him.
See, some people just need a slap. If only it were legal in the right circumstances. Whoever is recording this woman should have got one. lolol.
All this did was caused her to sue them which is still ongoing and it’s been private due to secrecy and judicial laws in Brazil… However she got fired from her job because of all the publicity and thanks to the overly entitled woman and her spoiled brat of a child this woman now has made being on Instagram her full-time career. Oh joy another one.
What is it with these entitled parents that even think it's okay to ask for the seat YOU PAID FOR? It's a serious f*ck no, from me.
Had a similar situation with a parent, though no filming/shaming etc. I'm way too tall to sit anywhere but a legroom seat or exit row and I always have to pay extra. And I always get the aisle seat too so I can get up easily. So when a woman who had booked her child in the middle seat next to me asked me to switch with her and take her seat--in the middle seat of the non-legroom row in front of me--I said, "sorry, no. I need this legroom and I paid extra for it." She was nonplussed. She finally said "ok but you're going to have to sit next to a loud child the whole flight". I smiled and pulled out my noise-cancelling headphones. Plan ahead, people, or make it worth my while to suffer. At first I was like 'Am I being a jerk?' But d**n I paid for that seat and planned ahead and needed the seat. I went from being embarrassed and feeling bad to being angry at her for making me be "the bad guy". Oh and the little girl was perfectly-well behaved. No issues on the cross-country flight.
This should seriously be the airline’s responsibility and not a passenger’s. Who knows what she’s going through. People, ugh …
YouTube is also the most popular platform when it comes to entertainment. A whopping 84% of Americans report using it, and it's probably because it offers the widest range of content. There are podcasts, commentary, gaming, sketch comedy videos, and even shows you would regularly watch on TV that upload their content on YouTube.
Reddit, on the other hand, is more for niche communities. 26% of Americans use Reddit regularly, but it's more of a place for fandoms, gaming, hobby communities, meme culture, and just good ol' trolling. Of course, it can also be a breeding ground for misinformation, but such is the way with self-regulated communities.

What Do You Think?
Fighting misinformation on Reddit is a Sisyphean feat. As the moderator of r/politics, u/Qu1nlan, explained to NPR in 2019, "We are a team of about 50 moderators on a subreddit of 5.6 million people. We don't have resources that a team like Facebook or Twitter might have with tons and tons of paid fact-checkers," he went on.
"So generally, when we see fake news that we know is not factually correct, we'll go ahead and encourage our user base to go ahead and fact-check it themselves and also comment – say, well, here's why this news is fake, and here [are] the sources to back it up. And here's why you shouldn't believe everything that you see on the Internet."

and use 3-4x the electricity, less power efficient, use now banned chemicals in manufacturing , etc. There are some positives to olden day items, but you are focused on the wrong aspects. Also look at cost. Sears Catalog 1955, average standard fridge with a freezer compartment was $700.... back then, which is $8700 today. Held 30% less for the same exterior size (which is smaller than modern ones exterior size) used 2.5 times the power of a similar exterior size fridge today, and used dangerous chemicals inside for cooling. They lasted, but you have to look at the full picture, oh and median family income then was $4,400 a year, or 1/6th your yearly salary. Median family income in the US 2025 was 83,600, which means a fridge costing 1/6th your yearly income would be over $13,000. Its why most working class families in the 50s didnt have them.

My (non British) husband was watching TV one night while I was reading. It got late, so I said let's go to bed - he said he wanted to see the end of the show. He told me it was a clever comedy about politics, kind of ridiculous but almost believable. He was watching house of lords live.

This is stupid. I don't love having a car that can't be fixed without a laptop either, but I don't want a car without anti-lock breaks (microcontroller), I don't want to pay for twice as much fuel as is strictly necessary (engine management system), and I don't want to either manually wind my windows or risk a child being choked by a powered window coming up when they've got their head out (there's a microcontroller that detects that and prevents injury).

How much are we betting that "My own little daughter came to me" means something like, "My own little daughter saw this and showed the nanny, assuming it was me trying to FaceTime, the only way she ever sees me any more"? And how did a three-year-old end up seeing this in the first place?
