I wanted to see the house I grew up in on Google maps but it's been blurred out 😢 and also checked my grandparents address and there was several photos of when they lived there but none with them in the photos 😢 Grandad died years ago and nanny moved in with my aunt plus I live in a different country now and too sick to travel to see her
Have apple any similar? Or other supplier? Have you tried to see if there are any previous years unblurred? Google maps have an archive.

Awww what a cute little snuggle bug, he obviously loves and misses his dad a lot.
I hardly ever use the word "wholesome" because I've seen it too much, but damn, what a perfect word to describe this picture :')
What keeps me going sometimes is the look of gratitude in a cat's eyes when you rescue them, and they know you're there to help.
Proof positive that GPAs are NOT the be all and end all of a person's intelligence and dedication.
We need more Individualized Education Programs, particularly in public, Christian & Montessori schools. So we can teach to abilities & interests in the myriad ways people learn. Maybe less from the structure of traditional Country Day and more toward Steiner. Common Core is a travesty.

In 2nd grade a teacher told my husband & I our son was too emotional ( she would make him cry then stand in the hallway until he stopped). BTW Kindergarten & 1st grade teachers said he was sympahtic to other kids & made friends with everyone. ANYWAY she said in a meeting he would never amount to anything & work a menial job for the rest of his life, I gripped my husbands leg because I thought he might go over the desk at her. We promptly moved out of our rental to a new town & school district. My son now has two college degrees & makes 6 figures. She can suck it, she was just an old terrible teacher that should have retired 5 years before my son had her.
I read Nelson Beats the Odds, entertaining and very suitable for kids. Has facts about ADHD and quotes of famous guys that also beat the odds in their real lives.
My best friend from college had been laughed at by her special ed teacher when she said she wanted to be a teacher. She told her she couldn't even get into college. Did I mention she was my best friend from college? I don't think she should have been in special ed at all. I think they put her there because her family's primary language was German and instead of treating her like an ESL student, they treated her like she couldn't learn.

Anyone who treats people who clean up after others poorly should have to clean the entire NYC subway with a toothbrush while wearing a sign that reads, I am an entitled a*****e.
I'm all for public shaming like that as long as it isn't physical abuse or torture. It should be a humbling experience.
Load More Replies...Reminds me of a story where at a meat plant, when the owner was closing up for the night, one of the guards insisted one of the inspectors is still on site, and when he asked why he would think that, the guard said the man greets him warmly ever morning and wishes him a good night when he leaves, and that night he never got a goodbye and said that inspector always waited around for him no matter what to say goodbye, and that he looks forward to it every day because this one inspector was the only one who didnt just walk by him every day but treated him as a person. They inspected the plant, and found him unconscious in one of the walk-in freezers and they were able to save his life. Proof treating people like humans with dignity is always a good policy
I never understand this kind of attitude. At my work, I always chat with and joke around with the custodian and cleaner staff. A few times I get them coffee, donuts/muffins just to say thanks, because they're doing such a thankless, much needed job. I supported them some years back when they went on strike for a more living wage too, regardless what my bosses thought about it. Also, the custodians at my kids school? Everyone loves them, they're super friendly and do everything around the school and the kids are taught to treat them and talk to them with the same respect as the teachers. Because, you know...we're all not Aholes.
I have a taxi driver I use when I go places. Her name is Therese and she is absolutely wonderful. She came today with the groceries I'd ordered online for pickup and saw I was feeling down and insisted on giving me a big hug and told me that she was always really happy to see that she has a delivery for me because it means I'm hanging in there and still fighting. ❤️
There's an autistic guy that works where I work at. We're in different departments, most everyone is mean to him, which is insane because we're adults, we shouldn't be. But I always try to wave at him and say hi when I see him, I can tell he really appreciates it.
Have you spoken with anyone at HR about this? He could use all the support he can get.

Father had a pet crow when I was a kid named Gibbons. Thing could talk, whistle and mimicked the sound of our dog barking, outside! Dad would go to door to yell at dog and she's sitting in the corner. Then Gibbons would laugh. To this day, when I see a crow I say Hello to see if they're an ancestor of Gibbons.

It was phenomenal.

We all know that the internet is full of heartbreaking news headlines and negativity from individuals who never want to hear beliefs that oppose their own. And while it’s important to stay up to date with current events, you should never forget the importance of positivity too. In fact, taking in some wholesome content might even be beneficial for your health!
According to Think with Google, viewing some feel-good content can release dopamine and provide you with more motivation, satisfaction and pleasure. Plus, we need dopamine to help our memories, get better quality sleep and allow us to be able to concentrate. In fact, even advertisers know the importance of spreading positive vibes to customers.

There still are people who believe in this. I had a (male) classmate in high school who thought so because apparently his (doctor) parent told him so. He freaked out whenever he'd seen girls lifting heavy things or being more physically active than normally. It was barely 10 years ago.

My husband and I got married on a Friday the 13th, so it's always been a special day, but he died a few years ago. Last year, the date of our anniversary was once again on a Friday, and my son thought that was pretty neat. He thought we should do something, so we decided to look at the day as more of the beginning of our family, instead of just my anniversary. And when I asked him what we should do, he suggested our family's favorite thing: driving around in the car and talking. He wasn't wrong! My husband and I would take drives and be tourists where we live before our son came along. And my son absolutely loves getting in the car and going on an adventure. So... We got in the car and drove around to absolutely no place and told stories about his dad.

this is something my Mom and I do. We go grocery shopping for our respective households together and try to stop each other from buying stuff we don't need (in a fun way). “I do a lot of research on consumer mood and emotion. In television advertising in particular, for the most part, 90-95% is still positive, upbeat advertising,” Nancy Puccinelli, a professor of marketing at the University of Bath, told Think with Google. “The basic premise is that if the ad makes people feel good, their attitudes towards nearly anything you show them will go up considerably. And there’s also a significant knock on effect on behavior - all other things being equal, if a brand makes me feel good, I’m going to be inclined to buy that brand.”
It reminds me of the day I met Bill Murray: a neighbor had a little angel in the same situation, her movie was "Groundhog Day". When I won invitations to see him, I immediately thought of the little one who was overexcited ! we arrive in the queue, she looked everywhere, very tense. When our turn comes, I explain to Mr. Murray that she watches his film every day... He was very kind, patiently spoke with her, ... who had absolutely nothing to do with it and kept looking everywhere, until she finally said "where is the groundhog !?"... He freeze, then laughs out loud and explains this snobby bug hates him cause it finds that he steals the star so it does not come if he is there. I then realized how much we idealized the actors. for her, it’s just a guy with a strange day, nothing more, but that there is a groundhog in the film! :D

For years from the age of 6 to 11 I played the violin and when I played in the garden lots of the neighbourhood pets came out to listen and watch me. I really loved playing the violin but sadly when I went to high school at 12 we had to buy our own instruments and I couldn't afford to buy one because even though I had babysitting money it was paid directly to my mother and she used it to buy alcohol with.
So sad. Can you start again now? It's never too late.

While the word “wholesome” hasn’t always had a positive connotation, the New York Times published a piece last year explaining how the term has become a compliment for Gen Z. Prior to about 2018, “wholesomeness” was often linked to conservative and traditional values. In recent years, however, it’s been reclaimed to describe anything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. “I think it caught on a lot because it’s just a word that sounds cool,” 22-year-old Enzo Luna told the NYT. “It’s such a strong and simple word.”
I hope this sweet lady is working at 75 because she chooses to and not because she has to, at that age she deserves to retire if wants too.
I love how coworkers, no matter what age they are, become good friends. When I worked at a bank at the age of 20 it was me, two female tellers (late 50s/early 60s) the assistant manager (also 60s) and the 70 year old manager all became good friends. We'd go out to dinner once in a while and have such a great time. I loved those women!
My absolute best friend at 13 to 16 was an older lady who was 80 when I met her on the bus. She was getting off the same bus stop as me and I noticed she had heavy bags and I offered to help her carry them home. She was very grateful for the help and I'd pop in as often as I could just to chat and help her with stuff she had difficulties with. She had lived with her parents and brother her whole life, her fiance died at the start of WW2. After their parents died she moved to a new build council house with her brother and he helped her but a few weeks before I met her he had passed away and she was struggling. She was able to stay at home for 3 more years with my support but just before I turned 16 I had to go live with my dad in another country and came back 8 months later. Her neighbour told me she had been moved to a nursing home because she couldn't live alone anymore. I went to visit her and she had been diagnosed with alzheimers and didn't recognise me. I Ioved her.

Wholesome memes have flooded the internet over the past few years, and they might have come about in direct opposition to the sarcastic memes millennials used to share in the early 2010s. Those pics were often “coated with dark humor and doused in irony,” the NYT explains, but these wholesome memes are simple and uplifting. “Sometimes those ironic and satirical memes are too heavy-handed, and they go into things that, at a certain point, it’s not really a joke anymore,” Luna shared, noting that he often prefers a sweet cat video instead.

So my Dad bought us a pack of M&M's and we each held a few in our hands - rules, no clenched fists and no standing in the direct sunlight. In Needles, CA in 105 degree heat, the candy coating did melt in our hands. Science!

I once conducted a work retreat at a university across from a starbucks location in a meeting room. I was there extremely early and late after to get set up and clean up. I was exhausted and downright stressed by the end, and the baristas came up to me and said "You worked so hard all day, we want to give you a drink for free." I almost started crying. I felt more appreciated by them than my team. I'll never forget it.
Toci's Pizza of Brooklyn (closed now, dammit) owner used to be a great guy with a New York attitude. Which meant PASSION. When I told him my father had cancer in some passing conversation while my friends and I went there for lunch one time, he gave my family a free pizza with the stipulation my father was to eat as much as he could. Not a small pizza either, it was a 16" with multiple toppings. And whenever I was sick, I wanted his turkey sub. He'd give that to us for free with the pizzas and stuff. Miss that guy. He's making a bunch at ups now.
3 day supply? Honey, that would be gone in two hours in my house.
Mashable even detailed how wholesome memes can not only be uplifting, but also subversive. For example, sharing compassionate and empathetic memes can actually start to change the way that we interact with others online. You might be reminded to take care of yourself or drink more water after seeing a wholesome meme that tells you to do so, and you may call your mom to tell her you love her after seeing an adorable screenshot of someone’s conversation with their own parent. Taking part in this wholesome activity online can bring even more sunshine into your real life.

One of the biggest problems with Coeliac Disease is the symptoms are wide ranging, and can be attributed to many different conditions. However, please do get tested. If you do have Coeliac Disease, and eliminate gluten from your diet, you may well find your other pre-existing conditions improve because there's less 'load' on the system.

I go look after my mum's cats when she goes away. When I visit normally with my mum at home (which is generally 4-5 times a week) they are happy to see me, come for attention and play fights etc. When she is away, by the second day, 2 of them are almost feral, running and hiding or getting aggressive, whilst the other 2 get needier. Makes zero sense but then I'm not a cat.
I used to do in-home pet sitting, and one of my clients was extremely shy and not fond of strangers. She was eating and drinking, but I wanted to ease my concern by seeing her. So, I made like I was leaving, opened/closed the door, and snuck back to lay on the LR carpet. The ploy worked.

The sentiment is appreciated, but that's not a soldier on active duty. He's a high school student in the MCJROTC program; identifiable by the patch on his left shoulder.
I look at things differently than most. I believe that if you decide 100% to serve your country you're doing it selflessly. Not because you're looking for the admiration of others. If you serve for the pats on the back, discounts, and good parking spaces you did it for all the wrong reasons. That young man in uniform did it because he loves this country. The dude with the umbrella loves his country and respects it's soldiers. And in my book he is just as much of a hero. These men love this country and don't have to say one word to express how they feel. A picture is truly worth a thousand words.
Honest question. If one of those soldiers actually turned up at that very moment, could they take the seat?

It's a surprise that there's still a nanner in that pic! Nanners are bunny crack: they'll still eat them when they're too sick to eat anything else. It's why we mix their meds with a slice of mashed banana. Only feed small slices though: it is a very sugary treat that can upset their stomach quickly. ▪️▪️▪️Carrots are another reason why buns get the runs: just like bananas they're a sweet snack. Give them carrot tops with a small slice of carrot still on it, and they'll be very happy! ▪️▪️▪️ It seems a bit Spartan to limit their carrot intake, but a rabbit's digestive system is made for very tough fibrous plants. Stuff like grass, shrubs, and even tree bark. The bacteria in their digestive system are highly specialised and they can't be compared to human digestion. Any food that has starch or sugar in it should be given in treat amounts, even if the food is very healthy for us humans.

Not the same thing but, several years ago my mom's car needed a new starter. I told her I wanted to do it for her so she could save her money. Little did I know the only way to get to it was to disassemble most of the top of her cars intake system. I had a bolt that wouldn't budge and was putting a ton of pressure on it with a breaker bar. The bar broke and as I fell backwards my wrist scraped against the radiator support and I lost a huge chunk of my tattoo color and all. She was so upset she paid the tattoo guy in advance to repair it after my arm healed. My mom hated my tattoos from day one but loved me enough to have mine fixed. This just reminded me of that story and got me in the sentimentals.

I work in property management. Mining companies are like this too. When they run out of money they just reopen under a new name.
Sort of reminds me of some the furniture stores that were always popping up around here, just to go out of business and then reopen under a different name. You could walk into the "new store" (which might be in the exact same location) see the same people running it, with the same furniture. I'm sure it has to do with dodging the warranties (really cheaply made furniture).
Absolutely what it is. And people just keep falling for it and buying c**p expensive furniture or worse garbage over priced pressed paper furniture.
Load More Replies...Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I feel like there might be room for improvement on how they run their restaurant...
"In the end, it does not matter if you are gay or straight, black or white, for we will all Burn."

exactly what I thought. I love Hamilton :3
Load More Replies...My hamil-trash mind: fire doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints. It takes, and it takes, and it takes.
That's exactly what I thought. I'm way to obsessed with Hamilton.
Load More Replies...It takes and it takes and it and we keep winning anyways...
Load More Replies...I'm not sure what kind of message they were trying to give but I would be more in thinking that firefighters don't discriminate; they don't care what you are, who you believe in, who you sleep with, they will save you if you're in a fire. But they will save the humans before the animals.
Every family event is going to have a mushroom on a chair or at a table
"tell my brother and me" (not "my brother and I") because it's the object of the sentence. "Me" is not a bad word. Use it when appropriate. You wouldn't say "Parents used to tell we...." You would say, "Parents used to tell us...." because it's the object. This it's "me", not "I".
Came to the comments to find or add this. Thanks for not letting me be the only one. "My parents used to tell ME" NOT "My parents used to tell I "...

rightmost, cabin leader stripes. but you're right, they all look the same age. The first officer got basically invited in for a coffee break midflight.
Load More Replies...Imagine the family drama mid flight. Kids started to fight, mum yelling across the plane, dad jumping out of the cabin shouting: if you won't start behave, I'm stopping at nearest airport and kick you out, you can walk from there.
Yes, I couldn't tell which one was the wife. Iceland is a beautiful country, too. And not many languages still use the eth and thorn. So cool.
My husband and I (35 years together) were both married before and both our spouse did not want us to have our sandwiches cut like we wanted them (not cutting them the correct way for us and/or throwing them when we did, that sort of stuff). We sat down for 5 hours to list what we wanted from this marriage and both of us had this on our list.
Wow, that's a good idea for any relationship. If we would list what we wanted for our marriage, maybe now I would not be divorced, because probably we would not be even started.
Load More Replies...If you cut a sandwich diagonally, the two sections will have a longer total perimeter. I don't know if there is any advantage to that. I just thought I would throw in a little geometry.
I can't stand the diagonal cut because the sides aren't symmetrical as opposed to up and down. Yes, a touch of OCD needing her sandwich sides matching. 🙂
If every person had a handful of friends like this.........man, can you imagine how much different and better the world would be
My online friends did a similar thing for another one of my friends. We're all adult BTS fans from all around the world, and a couple of them chipped in to buy my other friend a bunch of albums and other merch. Online friendships are just as valuable and beautiful as in-person ones :)))
It took me a long time to figure this out. I thought at first that OP lost their parents, and the online friends were being supportive, but if OP was the only one still playing, how would the friends know? So that wasn't right. If the friends had all quit playing, how were they talking with OP? So that wasn't right. I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to realize they upgraded OP. *blush*
In the US, after tax, it's probably about $70 a person. Very generous friends.
My thoughts exactly. Hard to make that kind of mistake.
Load More Replies...I find it very hard to believe that the shipping costs alone weren't a massive red flag, come on. Worth it as I've never seen 10-foot lamps and bro is rocking the platform flip-flops, so it's all good.
If ordered on Amazon Prime the shipping might have been free, but the price should have been a big clue.
Load More Replies...In defense of OP's father, the descriptions can be hard to find, and downright unhelpful a lot of times.
This photo is awesome and hilarious- I just don't believe the description one bit 😕
Well, you're going to make a bunch of naked trees. All he's going to say is "Bark".

OMG. I remember that exact moment in HEB in San Antonio, Texas when I was about 28. I was kinda shocked, but he was probably 16.

To be honest you look older than 48... but who cares, just enjoy your discount !
It’s pretty much the only advantage to getting old. Look forward to it.
I got a simple, regular film camera when I was about 12 and loved it. I probably took pictures that were only slightly more interesting than this kid's but for some reason it felt great.
At least they didn't get inside their mouth like I used to find on my phone after my kids had it.
Gen-X here- got my first camera at 10. There were lots of similar pictures when my mom finally got my film developed.
Not all little kids are like this one. If I got a polaroid camera when I was 5 I would probably take like one picture a year

I write things in shaky handwriting like "Help me" or "the end is near" for my brother to discover. This was also the bathroom where our guests shower... so I had a lot of explaining to do.
I wrote "Happy Groundhog Day!" over and over throughout all of February and no one in my family acknowledged it. Time to trade them in.
I had something similar happen at a hotel where a message emerged after a shower. In hindsight I'm very uncomfortable.
Me too. Mainly because I recognized this is something I would've done. Heck, I can barely make instant oatmeal.

As a vegetarian, I fully agree with this store’s idea of vegetarian foods.

The clerks who did the intake of his paperwork must have seen it all, to not object to the fact that he had been that drunk while filing that paperwork.
How? I've legally changed my name a couple of times, and it's time consuming. Took a few weeks. That's a long, drunken bender.
This is not economy. Looks like business on a short flight.

You lived there for two years and never tried opening everything?
Some dishwashers are tough to open so if you tug on them expecting a cabinet it might feel like it’s a fake one.
Load More Replies...Uhmm... So.. are the dishes within the machine dishes from the previous tenants?? Am just curious....
nope, it's quite a while they're on the top side of the door, as you open it, so the panel can be like the others in the kitchen. Op tried to open like a drawer, didn't come, tought was fake.
Load More Replies...That happened to my husband one time. We were going to the movies and we usually arrive early, like 20 minutes, but we ran out of gas and the stations were all busy. We ran from the parking lot and got in line. My husband first tried to pay with his bookclub card, then with his Air Miles, and then his bank card, finally! We were really flustered and the guy was patient, even laughed with us. We didn't miss anything and didn't disturb anyone.
Or a cardiologist if that's what OP's heart looks like ;)
