30 Of The Funniest Posts From The ‘IT Humor And Memes’ Facebook Group (New Pics)
InterviewThere might not be such a thing as the perfect career. No matter which path you choose, it can be one full of ups and downs and loads of situations testing your patience.
However, the ultimate patience-test-of-a-career is most likely working in IT. Whether it’s devices the specialists have to deal with, humans who are no longer in control of theirs (it’s probable that either side is equally annoyed by the question—”have you tried turning it off and on again?”), or other struggles, it all can be quite challenging to manage.
Luckily, representatives of the field can find solace in their fellow IT professionals and online communities, such as the Facebook group ‘IT Humor and Memes’. It provides a much needed giggle for the IT people out there, who are likely to find the posts to be quite relatable. Scroll down to find some of them on the list below and click here for our previous piece about the group. Below, you will also find some thoughts from the group’s founder, Trevor Paquette, which he shared during a recent interview with Bored Panda.

I used to place pillows and couch cushions around my computer to muffle the dialup sound when I was sneaking onto AOL past my bedtime XD
I can relate. My old laptop has to be plugged in all the time otherwise it shuts off.
* applause * BRILLIANT censoring job, simply brilliant. Let's give bp a standing ovation.
I remember the beautiful, ancient halcyon days when this worked. In early MMOs (say, Ultima Online) it was pretty easy to convince other players that you could open a "secret developer console" in the game by pressing Alt + F4.
People are aware they can just google. They're trying to make a human connection in a lonely world when they ask someone to explain something rather than do so. Don't begrudge them that. I'm certain lots of friendships have begun this way.
My grandpa after my aunt installed a VCR when a channel didn't come in it was the VCR's fault.
Can confirm. Have built my own PCs for decades. You just look for the holes that match the plugs of whatever cable you're holding. >_>;
I asked a younger friend why younger people put a link to their Spotify playlist on their social media/profiles now. I still don't understand XD Is that a thing now?
Wearing a monocle to a date in the first place is an epic power move and is probably all you need.
For those who are unsure what is happening, Dad has his laptop right in front of that candle, which has handily half-melted his laptop... on the top left of its screen XD
accurate, but now google wants to put bard into their search thingy so now it will be "I can't help you with that dave, do you want to see an ad? Google searchbard premium is ad-free* * * [terms and conditions may apply]" .... /me goes to duckduckgo.
My wrists just had a flashback to my Alienware laptop circa early 2000s. That thing was probably 7" thick and felt like it weighed 20 lbs XD
The other holes suggest this isn't actually a joke on their part but rather an actual practice.
You don't want to see the result when the nurses leave health care up to I.T.
I don’t get it. Normal people just look outside through the window at various heights but programmers open the door to go outside? So maybe I do get it. Lol!! :)
Never, EVER skimp on the power supply. Better to have more than you need than to turn your expensive components into props straight out of Counter-Strike.
At the time, it made no sense to pay for Winzip since ARJ and RAR were far superior and free alternatives. Later, it was easily available as free download and extremely easy to copy (just one string to copy and paste, it was the same for all installs and versions) so buying an original copy made no sense. Today compression capability is built-in in any OS, so it makes no sense to pay for it.
just don't tell management. I promise anyone in C-suite maybe except cio is probably an idiot who thinks it really needs a lot of wrangling.
And this is why a lot of us don't even bother plugging most of those in, once you've built a PC or two for yourself XD
So, I just need to become a sorcerer, and THEN I can get that 4090 I want. XD
No worries, the key generator warned that my AV would probably detect it as a virus. So I turned it off, only while generating the key.
Please. That's amateur. They don't even have a second powerstrip plugged into the first powerstrip.
ooooouch that is expensive. But yes, GF also did that a year ago... fortunately only to a s****y cheap pc, not a MBP but... ffs....
Time to download some more RAM after looking at all this techy stuff.
Some of the offices and calling it IS now, information systems, rather than Information technology. Why?
Simply put, IT is part of IS. Information systems is about the system as a whole, the creation and distribution of the information and also the processes and all users involved. Users both responsible for their creation as well as the ones it's created for. Information technology is an essential part of this and provides the tools (hardware, software, tcomms) to make this processes and systems come to life and interact with each and the users. Hope that makes it clearer! I was waiting for someone more "qualified" to reply but since it didn't happen, you get the simplified Koala version instead! 😉🐨😅
