13 Hilarious Illustrations Of He-Man’s Everyday Life With His Battle Cat By Ed Harrington
Interview With ArtistAre we all familiar with He-Man and his heroic adventures? If so, you might be curious about what his daily life could look like. Look no further! There is an artist who has reimagined the superhero’s life and presented it in a more down-to-earth way. He-Man may be busy saving the planet Eternia, but surely there’s a part of his existence where he’s just like us, right?
Ed Harrington answers this question by showcasing the daily mundanities the character faces while owning a pet. And not just any pet—a Battle Tiger, who is ultimately just a cat with his own needs. He has to go to the vet, destroy some furniture, use his litter box, and so on. If you’re curious about what other situations He-Man must navigate while living with his cat, scroll down and have a laugh with us!

Why is it they do this, presenting bum first.. I have two cats and they fight for the privilege of being in pole position!
Don't you realize the great honor you have been given? Ours are the best butts in the entire multiverse! Here these wonderful cats are, allowing you to live in their home. They even offer you the sight of the best butts in the multiverse. Yet, here you are, you ungrateful soft can-opener, complaining about it!

This is so normal. I always have the feeling I can see something beyond the hole.
Bored Panda reached out to Ed Harrington to ask him some new questions, specifically about the series of illustrations featuring He-Man and his Battle Cat. The artist told us what inspired him to depict their daily lives together: “I like to draw the mundane daily lives of characters from popular culture. I find it humorous how someone like He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, still has to scoop the litterbox when he gets home from defeating Skeletor. Not only is it funny, it shows just how ‘ordinary’ the lives of these extraordinary characters can be.”
When asked if the way he reimagined the situations between these two characters was purely an exploration of the exaggerated aspects of their relationship or if he drew inspiration from his own experiences with pets, Ed responded: “Definitely relying on my own experiences. I've had cats most of my life, and my wife and I keep taking in strays so our house is currently overrun with them!”
My cat knows when I´m giving her a pill. She can feel it and runs away.
We were also curious how Harrington balances humor and nostalgia when reimagining iconic characters like He-Man. The artist shared with us that he’s not concerned about disappointing fans who hold these characters dear: “I tend to only draw things from my childhood that I was (and still am) a fan of, so I am never really worried about crossing a line. I am trying to just keep everything in good fun - nothing too gross, crass or vulgar. These characters are also important to me too.”
Pop culture characters are constantly being reinterpreted by various artists and fans. Ed explained how he keeps his versions of illustrations fresh and unique in such a saturated field: “I just draw what I find humorous. If an idea or joke has been done before, there is no humor in that because people have already seen it and there is no ‘surprise.’ The only way to stay funny is to stay fresh and unique!”
I wonder where Skeletor got that ball of wool? Wherever, there won't be much fighting evil for a while ...
But it's the other way round. I'm lying in front of the fire (or on the sofa in front of the fire) and my two lie on me! Chin to foot.
Of course. That's why we call you SOFT can-openers.

OK, these are actually funny. I clicked on it expecting to hate it, but I literally laughed out loud.
Several of these made me laugh until I choked. I think my favorites were 1. Butt/bed 2.Toilet 3. Thermometer 4. Laser pointer 5. Litter box. Giant he man sized litter scoop also made me laugh. I rarely get so many actual LOLs from one of these comic threads. Usually 1 or 2 if I'm lucky and the rest are just mildly amusing.
