It’s a fabulous way to disconnect your mind from any worries that you might have, all while bringing a smile to someone’s face when you share your creations with your loved ones.

My Almost 90 Year Old Mother Is On Hospice And We Are Preparing For An Estate Sale. I Couldn’t Sell Her Broaches. Too Many Memories So I Made This To Always Remember Them
Can we bring back brooches as a fashion statement? They’re so pretty and meaningful 😍
Load More Replies...Beautiful! I think I might have to steal this idea with my Mom's stuff.
My godmother loved her brooches and had so many the family didnt want to sell them either so at her funeral they invited everyone to pick one to remember her by. Her family and honorary family (aka my mom and I) got first pick then her closest friends, etc. It was a great way for everyone to have something special and sentimental to remember her by.
"I've been managing another group where members often shared DIY and crafty creations. Their talent inspired me and I felt an urge to create a new platform dedicated for crafters only. I envisioned it as a Facebook group where everybody would be able to share their creations and experience, ask questions and get feedback, support each other," founder Nina shared with Bored Panda.
"In order to ensure safe and welcoming environment, we came up with certain rules and we have been actively moderating the group from the beginning," she said.
"Crafty Fun Group happened to attract creative minded members from the beginning. They create beautiful content. Every day, hundreds of mind-blowing crafts are posted in the group. A positive and welcoming environment encourages crafters to share their amazing creations, enjoy lots of fresh ideas when they are in need of them, and have more fun with their craft projects this way," Nina said.
I Like To Paint On Rocks, And Hid Them Near Hospitals, And Where People Can Be Walking And Find Them
What a great idea! Sharing your talent and making others happy!
Two hundred years from now art collectors will be bidding millions of dollars for these and no one will know who the artist was because you didn't sign them you silly Billy.
Deja vu, I'm not sure if that's the correct word to use to describe how familiar each image feels to me... sort of like when a certain scent can trigger a comfortable memory. Each one feels like home & family to me, they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing these.
#carboncountyrocks Carbon County Pennsylvania, painted rocks were hidden around the county and people who found the rocks posted pics on Facebook and then re-hid them. Some rocks were special though. If you found a special rock, you won a prize.
Those are beautiful. What a wonderful way to share your talent and a ray of sunlight with someone.

Unfortunately, they no longer have their shop on Etsy, however they are sharing some of their patterns on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/totaksushadolls-on-etsy/patterns
Load More Replies...Wow, I thought is was real upon first glance. That is some serious talent.
"I’m proud that the Crafty Fun Group has become a go-to place for people when they’re looking for competent advice and feedback from their fellow crafters."
The founder of the 'Crafty Fun Group' also shared some tips for those who might be new to crafts.
"My advice for someone who is completely new to crafts and DIY would be to join our group, feel free to share your work or ask for help if you feel stuck with your project, and don’t forget to have lots of fun while creating!"

Completely giving in to your artistic side—whether it’s just for 15 minutes each day or a few hours at a time—is a form of meditation. And it’s a reminder that people are meant to do far more than just work, eat, and sleep all day long. We’re meant to do greater things than just survive. But thriving means carving out some time for activities that you’ve been putting off for a while now.
The team running ‘Crafty Fun Group’ points out that if you don’t like someone’s post, you should scroll on and avoid arguing and cursing. What’s more, there are absolutely no sales allowed. As for politics? Forget about it! There’s no room for political bickering on this Facebook group. You can take it elsewhere.
“Please be polite and treat people like you want to be treated!” the team behind the group asks their members to remember the Golden Rule.
It Took Me Almost 3 Years To Collect The Fabrics For My Jar Quilt!
I hope you entered this in the county fair here you would have won not just first place in the quilt show but first in show and first place probably grand prize entry for the entire Fair. This is incredible!!!
That's a real labor of love - not just the sewing, but finding the fabrics!

My Husband Is A Welding Fabricator. He Built Me This Table Out Of Scrap Metal, Chain, And Wood
Such a gorgeous creation. It's edgy and industrial but still brings a feeling of warmth to the space with his use of wood. He has mad skills!
How did he make the chains rigid enough to support the table?
Welding them in place, and reinforcing them. It's pretty simple.
Load More Replies...It looks OP's husband did not heard about the laws of physics and accidentally made an anti-gravity table :) Amazing!

A Royal Engineer Soldier, Serving In Afghanistan, Sent Me His Uniform, And Asked If I Could Put In On An Armchair For Him, He Is Away, Such A Lot, But Coming Home For Christmas, This Is For His Mum To Sit In When He Is Away, How Wonderful Is That?
Oh, wow. I could see such a market for this. And, not just for uniforms. My mom died when I was 14. I’m now 67 and tearing up at the thought of how much having a chair like this, upholstered in one of her suits or coats, would have meant to me. Too old for dolls (not that I ever liked them); too young to really appreciate quilts; too “mature” to ever let on to anyone - most of all my dad, because I knew he was dealing with grief, too (he didn’t need to worry about me, too) - just how much losing her hurt. A chair in my room that I could curl up in, in private, would have been soooo perfect. I promise I’d still have it. Someone could make a very good living doing something like this for people, I think. And, it would very much be a job that tipped well in good karma. How wonderful that he thought of it, and how splendid it is that you fulfilled his vision so very well. Thank you.
What a beautiful thing for his mother to have! You are so talented! God bless you both!
I’ve Been Wrapping For Few Years Now And This Is The First Year I Make Pumpkins!
I would love to have a go at wrappjng. Your pumpkins look fantastic
Not too long ago, Bored Panda spoke about hobbies, crafting, and DIY with Dr. Paul Bones, a sociology assistant professor at Texas Woman’s University. The academic works with wood as a hobby, and shared with us what keeps him passionate about what he does.
"I love woodworking for many reasons. I’m a disabled academic, so having the ability to make something tangible, something I can see and hold helps keep me grounded. And relatively sane,” he said.
A Gift I Made My Grandpa For His 80th Birthday!
The nickle is from the year he was born, quarter is the year he married my grandma, and the pennies are the years that his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were born. Plus various items representing his hobbies and things he likes to spend time doing
I think it is at the bottom just above the leg of the stand.
Load More Replies...Very clever. Not only are you celebrating him, you're celebrating the whole family.
So touching. I’m curious regarding the basketball-looking coin in upper right corner. Is it a unit of money? Or an event token?
Handmade A Resin Cake Stand With Real Freshly Pressed Flowers
This is such a magical looking piece of usable art. It's so beautiful and unique to the artist, I'd love to have this. I currently own a large salad bowl that looks very similar to this and it also looks very delicate and unique.
Now THIS is something I would hope to make if I made resin art, not the millions of coaster ideas I keep seeing.
Believe me, we all wish we could do projects like this one, but this can get super expensive to make because it takes a lot of resin. For small scale resin artists it's not easy because not everyone would be willing to buy this if it's too expensive. Coasters, I'm guessing (because I didn't do coasters when I still did resin), is a more financially manageable way to achieve something similar.
Load More Replies...but real flowers, not dried will change the color in resin so not sure this will look so magical for more. It is beautiful just not sure if author prepared flowers in any way. I got inspired from it tho <3
DIY Halloween Decorations
My father always criticized my mother for her taste for Halloween. As time went by, they ended up getting divorced, after a long mourning over the divorce, my mother decided to give herself a new chance in love and what was the surprise that we took one afternoon when we returned home... Here I show you our beautiful decoration this year made by my mother's wonderful boyfriend
I think your mum's boyfriend might be a keeper (or should I say crypt-keeper)!
“I also like how there is so much to learn and so much to make. I started turning pens, then went into bottle stoppers, then bowls. Lately, I’ve been working with inlay rings and knives. It’s just a lot of fun learning new skills, applying them, and watching myself improve. It also gives me time to just sit with myself, disconnect from deadlines and emails, and be more present in the moment. That’s what keeps me glued to woodwork," Dr. Bones shared with Bored Panda during an interview, earlier.
Slide Curtain
I love waking up to this every morning. When my parents died we inherited all of the family slides. My daughter drilled holes on all 4 sides and bought large jump rings and made a curtain out of it for my window. Depending on the position of the sun throughout the day it reflects the most beautiful patterns onto the walls and floors
Wouldn't be doing that without first digitally backing up the family slides.
But once you do - what a beautiful project 😍
Load More Replies...I love this idea. I have boxes and boxes of old slides my dad took that never made it into carousels. He'd take 3 shots of the same sunset, choose the best one for viewing, and the other two just got filed away in boxes. I think I may try this out.
Mine was the same. So you ever imagine how blown away he would be knowing you can click away all you want on your phone?
Load More Replies...This is absolutely gorgeous, but the light shining through it will eventually fade them.
Yes, I hope you backed them up digitally. 1000's of Civil War prints were lost because they used the unsold glass negative for greenhouse roofs after the war and all faded away.

I’m Sharing My Crocheted Mini Version Of My Dog Zelda
Don't you just want to give that little scrap a massive hug! She's so cute... the crochet is clever and looks very like her, but that dog's adorable!
Load More Replies...Omg this looks EXACTLY like my dog 😍 His name is Timmy and he's 17 years old 😁👴 So cool to see his identical twin 😉
The professor noted that, in his opinion, adaptability and patience are key things to have for any woodworker.
"Woodworking is a skill you have to hone; no one starts out as a master craftsperson. Also remember there are so many types of woodworking: woodturning, furniture building, carving, knife making, ring making, box making, etc. It may take a while to find the type of craft you like," he said.
Had To Share This Rose My 11year Old Granddaughter Made. You'll Never Guess What It's Made From.... The Wax From Baby Bell Cheese!
I used to do something like that when I was a kid, so I can say the wax used to be better. A few years ago I made some small figures for fellow patients in the hospital and they still have them on their shelves...
Now ask her if she wants to immortalize it in copper or aluminium and teach her how to do it thus exposing her to a whole new avenue for artwork.

Dr. Bones said that anyone who wants to start working wood can take the first steps by watching some how-to videos over on YouTube. These should help newcomers decide what niche they actually want to focus on.
"While you’re watching, think about what kinds of craft work with your temperament and existing skills. For example, I do not have the patience for hand carving or furniture making. But turning small items like pens, rings, bottle stoppers, and bowls? Those are fast enough projects where I can have a finished item in no time, and there’s enough variety that I won’t get bored," he said.

Every Fall For The Past 3 Years Lesa Ritchie Has Been Creating Hay Art In Her Front Yard
Achoo! Beautiful *sniffle* even to Achoo! someone with *sniffle* hay fever.
I feel like the female farmer in the hay in the bottom picture is from a computer farming game, like Farm Frenzy or Ranch Rush or something similar (but those female protagonists both have longer hair). Do I spend too much time playing casual games on my computer when I should be doing something productive? Yes. Does it matter that much, since I am self- employed and somewhat dictate my working hours? No!
"There’s an old adage that a poor craftsman blames his tools, and that’s mostly true. Woodworking tools can be very expensive, and in some cases, price does equal quality. However, there are a lot of garages and shops full of topline equipment that can only produce mediocre items. Having the right tool for the job is really all that matters. Once you have experience with it, you’ll know when it’s time to upgrade. That’s a skill too," the woodworker told Bored Panda.
Each Year My Boys Choose A Costume And Then I Crochet It For Them! 7 Years Now! This Year They Chose Chickens Who Accidentally Ate Toxic Waste And Grew Oversized
Brilliant! How long did it take to make? If I attempted this, I would have to start crocheting on November 1st and maybe I’d finish by Halloween night…10 years later.
Teenage Mutant Kung Fu Chickens! Clearly channeling some Ray Stevens!
Thems are some warm children. Kids in the south would melt. These are amazing and another too much talent person.
Haha, they'd probably need a fall coat or sweater underneath where I'm from - but lots of room for that :)

I love how oddly specific that request is. Not just "chickens" but "chickens who accidentally ate toxic waste and grew oversized." (And I love that you actually made the waste too!) Totally racking up the "cool mom" points!

"I started woodworking after a couple of cross-country moves for work. I needed a table and a desk. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time. I had worked in a furniture shop for six years prior to going to grad school, so I had practical experience putting items together," he told us.
"A trip home for a funeral introduced me to life-edge wood, and after playing with it for a while, I was hooked. I didn’t have the room (or the patience) to build furniture all the time though, so a friend suggested a lathe to me. After making like 50 pens, my wife demanded we start trying to sell what I make."

Old Sewing Machine Refurbished Into A Sink
Haha there is one in the room I’m sitting in right now. It’s a darker shade then the one in the pic and has three drawers on each side instead of two. We made it kind of like a memorial thing for my late great-Nan and great-grandad. It used to belong to my great-aunt I believe but I could’ve always been my great-Nan’s and now we have it.

I Found This Old Very Heavy Piece Of Wrought Iron At A Flea Market For $10.00, Knowing I'd Figure Out Something To Do With It
I never post much of what I make, but this was one of my favorite things I've done. I found this old very heavy piece of wrought iron at a flea market for $10.00, knowing I'd figure out something to do with it. And wouldn't get a deal like this again. I stared at it for about a year. Lol and then finally made it into something. It has 8 glass coasters, found in a resale shop for $1.50 for 4.. Total of $3.00 for all 8 coasters. I bought remote control disk lights. So I wouldn't have to hard wire it. Bought some glass looking dangles and silver metal ribbon and voila!!! I had so much fun making it. All in all I'd say I have about $65.00 wrapped into it
Perhaps someday, someone can discover what a beautiful thing is beneath all of this.
