When you witness discrimination, you have two choices: stay silent and move on or speak up and challenge it.
Many of us like to think we’d always choose the latter, but with so much injustice in the world, it doesn’t always happen as often as we’d hope. That’s why seeing others take a stand can be inspiring—especially through conversations in spaces such as the Facebook group Feminist Info. Dedicated to women’s rights, this group tackles complex and often overlooked issues head-on.
Check out some of their most eye-opening takes below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

THIS. It's repulsive we're still having to say these things and cis white males are still trying to tell us what is safe and comfortable.
As a cis white man, I can tell you cis white men are not safe or comfortable to be round. Recently most of my conversations with "others" has been me defending this view is something I share. They have not been comfortable conversations. Do yourself a favor, don't make friends with me, find some Trans guy/gal/pal.
Load More Replies...I was roofied at a club. Woke up on a couch (in the club) and could barely focus much less stand. My "friend" had left me. A drag queen who was just arriving ran up to me despite their friends protests. She took me outside, told the cops not to arrest me for public intoxication while she went to get her car. I couldnt remember my address...only my street and that i lived in a 2 story house. She started at one end of a very long street that went several blocks and shook me awake at each one until we arrived at mine.. my purse and everything had been stolen at the club. I dont know what would have happened if she hadnt saved me. And i never got a good look bc was so messed up. But will never forget that angel.
Drag queens are some of my favorite people. I'm still hoping a miracle will occur and we will be allowed to have a drag time story hour at our library.
Lets be real here: no one wants to share a bathroom with cis men. Trans women don't feel safe in the mens room, cis women are afraid of cis men pretending to be trans women to intrude in womens room. Trans men are hiding in stalls to prevent cis men from identifying them as AFAB because they don't feel safe either. The problem is always the CIS MEN. All the demonisation of trans women and drag queens comes down to the same thing: the fear that they are going to behave like predatory cis men.
Even the transphobes and TERFS using fear to try to stop trans women using the women's bathroom focus on the idea that a cis man might *pretend* to be a trans woman to get into women's spaces. They're SO CLOSE to grasping that the real problem isn't trans women.
Load More Replies...I love going out with my gay friends, to gay bars. I can have a good time without being hit on or worrying about being followed around.
I worked in Occupational Health - any 'medical' issues at work were referred to me to 'solve'. 40 years ago, we had a trans woman in the workforce - really nice person, but thought the ladies' toiloets were just like the men's room as far as comments/banter etc. The women got really fed up with her pinging their bra's (common in the UK school playgrounds years ago - pulling the back elastic and letting it go - and it hurts) and asking everything about where they bought their undies/makeup. The ladies in the end, refused to share facilities with the trans woman. It needed quite a bit of talking through with her as she was 'offended' that they didn't see her as one of them. Explaining that the sort of teasing that men 'do' is not actually welcomed by the women, as she thought if someone did that to her, she'd 'fit in' better.
I've never known a Trans woman whom would do that, I've known at least half a dozen..maybe it was a personality trait not a Trans issue?

Nice guys need to realize, women are on their side. Entitled abusive men are ruining all of our social lives.
Exactly like I understand that the average guy is probably fine but at only 18 years old I have been harassed cat called and threatened with violence I don’t want to take the risk.
Always err on the side of caution, even if you think you’re being silly.

Me too. I'm tall, I'm big and I know very well that I could appear to be a potential threat. I am certainly not, the worst I would do would be to internally criticise someone's makeup, but no woman can know that if I am walking behind them or nearby at all. Women have had to learn to be constantly on the look out, just in case. It must be exhausting for them.
Load More Replies...Very true. I had an epiphany a few years ago, before I became critically ill, I would hike miles daily. Just all over the nature reserve. I had always thought, “I’m safe. A woman shouldn’t fear me— a small gay man.” But, I began to notice that if I was walking behind a woman, she’d get anxious. At first, these reaction insulted me. What a jerk I was! All men— it DOES apply to me. How should a woman know I’m no threat? It’s my responsibility to be respectful and give the woman space. I really felt ashamed and did a better job after that.
And what if a white person started expecting black people to give them a wide berth when they hiked? I'm sure you'd call that racist. How is that any different from a woman expecting men to give them a wide berth?
Load More Replies...As an adult woman, I’ve spent a lot of time trying to pinpoint the moment I first realized I was living in a world built for men. As a kid, even between the ages of three and five, I remember my parents fully supporting me, telling me I could achieve anything I wanted. Back then, I didn’t see myself as much different from the boys around me, aside from the obvious physical differences and a few varying interests.
But as I sifted through old memories, flipping through photo albums and watching grainy VHS recordings, I started to notice the signs. The clues had always been there, subtle but constant reminders that my experience in life would be fundamentally different from that of my male peers.
I've always wondered about the "logic" behind that. Of course there is none.
Oh I hope so, they'd look sooo cute together!
Load More Replies...The morons who want to ban books like that just insist upon viewing gayness as something inherently sexual when it's not. Some gay people are also asexual, for one thing. As for me I grew up being bombarded with messages from every corner about how I was supposed to marry a man and have babies when I grew up. I turned out aro ace regardless and haven't so much as seen a guy with his clothes off in nearly twenty years.
Same, I am aromantic and I grew up watching old disney movies on repeat and the show "4 weddings for a honeymoon" every day on TV.

These are the only men that can ever claim "not all men" but would never actually say that.
They also never declare themselves to be “nice guys”. They also take someone’s “No” at face value and back away. They also stop other men when they’re harassing anyone, especially women. They also never expect a woman to put out just because he asked her in a date and paid for the food. That’s not a complete list, but you catch my drift. Men like this are a rarity, and deserve to be cherished.

I think I'm surprised at how much prouder I am of him and how much more I love him for it.

Like the time when four- or five-year-old me wanted to play Pokémon—such a silly, innocent thing, really, but one that hinted at something bigger. I didn’t have any cards, so the boys each handed me their worst ones—just enough to let me join in, but never to actually win. Or how I was told that girls mature faster than boys, so I always had to be “the bigger person.” And how the parents at school seemed obsessed with the idea of first graders having “crushes,” as if every boy-girl interaction had to mean something.
oh I totally did not understand that. I had to read it over like five times before. I understood that the bartender was faking a text from his sister in order to warn her about the guy she was sitting next to. I was trying to figure out how the sister knew who the patron was sitting next to. well that one was definitely above my head
There have been numerous clubs that have safe words for women to alert bartenders, bless them?
Should have been an exclamation point not a question mark!!!
Load More Replies...As a Man, if I did this to a woman, who should she trust. Me or the other man? All men are bad a dangerous so what makes the bartender a good guy? Maybe he's just making sure she's alone and more vulnerable.
That logic seems silly. I’d not get into a conversation with the guy to the right. However, that doesn’t mean I now trust or know the bartender is some great guy. I’d still be using the standard amount of caution with him as well.

I don't think I have ever in my life had a discussion about division of work/activities in the home.
We didn't either. We've been married 25 years and I was a full-time student with part-time work for 12 years (he saw me through 4 degrees). So I just started working on what we needed and he took care of whatever else. With the exception of making him take out the trash, we traded off with whoever had the time, ability, etc. When he lost his job, he took care of everything domestic without us talking about it. I've been chronically ill and he's stepped up and taking care of the harder tasks. I can't believe how lucky I am to have him. Thanks, Joanne, because I've never thought about this til now. I love that while it’s unlikely that the woman ever referred to herself as the “husband lesbian”, the guy’s heart was clearly in the right place.
I know several lesbian couples that refer to their partner as 'husband' or 'wife' - I'm a gay man and I wouldn't use the titles in a relationship of my own, I'd say that the women I know do it in a playful way and it's not totally serious but it's not my business, it's purely what they are happy with that matters.

I never questioned these things as a child. It wasn’t until I first heard the word feminism at ten years old—alongside terms like women’s rights and gender discrimination—that I started to understand. Well, maybe not the full scope of how much it would affect me, but I did understand that I would have to stand up for myself and support other women in doing the same. And I try to do that now.
This is the same generation that told girls if a boy pushes you or pulls your hair he likes you & wonders why so many of us wound up in abusive relationships saying but he says he loves me. I taught my son if you put your hands on a women I will knock your teeth out myself
Odd that Grandma was pissed off that OP would question why it’s the woman’s responsibility, and that and Uncle already knew it wasn’t fair for women to have to control men instead of the men controlling themselves.

I had a somewhat similar experience. I was in our local shopping mall, and it was pensioner's day, so there were a lot of seniors around. I noticed two guys, one white, one black eying out the old people and I just knew they were up to no good. I finished my shopping and as I walked home I noticed the black guy following me, but on the other side of the road. I had a small pepper spray in my bad, and as I got to the corner of the block, I stepped behind a tall hedge and waited for him to make his move. At the same time I noticed a gentleman crossing the intersection towards me. He said, "I saw that guy following you. You go off home and I will stop him as he comes around the corner." I don't know what would have happened that morning, but I know that that kind man saved me.
Despite its significance, feminism remains misunderstood or outright rejected by many.
According to the dictionary, feminism is “the belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes, expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women’s rights and interests.”
You’d think that striving for equality would be widely supported, yet a recent Ipsos survey found that only 39% of respondents from 31 high- and upper-middle-income countries identified as feminists. Meanwhile, an average of 51% disagreed with this label.
I'm a 64 year old man. The last thing I want is someone who doesn't understand my references to the 70s and 80s. They'll never get the joke. I learned it's best to be with someone who is happy with themselves in the way they appear.
i would just say, "you know i have a d1ck, right?" sorry, transpeople, for using you to fend off these effers.
I even wore a wedding ring to work when I was younger and single, and still had men—-also wearing wedding rings—-hit on me. When I would say “But you’re married”, they would often reply “Yeah, so’s my wife”, like that’s some kind of joke. I work in a place where makeup and jewellery is banned (hygiene reasons). Honestly, to me, most of the women look far better au naturel than when painted with magic marker.
I was interviewed on the street by a Spanish TV reporter and she asked, "We have heard that American men don't like women with hair on their bodies. Is that true?" I answered, "Not me. I'm not into having $ex with little girls."
So if a woman likes a man who shaves, does that mean she's not really into men?
In my young days I rwice tried growing out the hair on my legs rather than shave. Turns out I just couldn't STAND the feel of the wind blowing through the hair. :) (Now that I am old, Nature has solved the leg hair problem for me.)
Same here! I tried so hard to not bother with leg hair. It felt awful with the way the hairs rubbed against my pants, leggings, hose, bed sheets ... So I shave.

Load More Replies...I’d say the current state of feminism can be summed up in just a few other statistics (though I could easily make a several-page-long list).
For instance, 81% of women report experiencing some form of sexual harassment or assault in their lifetime. Or consider the gender pay gap—it has hardly improved over the years. In 2002, women in the U.S. earned an average of 80% of what men made, and today, that number has only crept up to 82%, according to the Pew Research Center.
Women of color, however, face even greater disparities. Black women in the U.S. have the highest maternal mortality rate, with 69.9 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2021—nearly three times the rate for white women, based on data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I think acquisition of excessive wealth ultimately becomes a form of mental disease.
Shopping malls having parents rooms is a blessing. But yes men’s rooms should have them too
I hated this as a dad. Going to a place and not knowing if there was a changing station in the men's room. I have in a pinch done it in the women's bathroom. I know the bathroom police on BP will have a problem with this, but it was always with the women around understanding my predicament.
If the BP Bathroom police (snorts, really?) has an issue with that - then why have they neglected to provide for these rooms either gender neutral or also in the mens room? Or is the message "men are inept at taking care of children and we want to keep them that way?"

And as if that weren’t enough, global headlines continue to show just how far we are from true equality. In Afghanistan, the Taliban has banned women from speaking in public. In Iran, authorities are cracking down on women who refuse to wear hijabs, punishing them for something as simple as exposing their forearms or lower legs. If anything, feminism is a matter of survival.

No, let’s have them go to real life war in chainmail bikinis, and see how it feels. Better yet, instead of going to war, let’s just have the leaders of the two main countries involved meet in a stadium and fight it out between them with nothing but 10 lb sacks of horse manure.

This. We have a mandatory thing when you give birth, a nurse comes to check on you, the baby, and to give you some starter tips for the basics in neonatal care. I had developed PPD, lack of sleep and was on the verge of getting mastitis and noticeably sad. I must add that I was a foreigner in my new country as well. So at first when she started questioning me as to why did I come here, get married and have a baby I was really offended. Much later did I get it... They are required to ask and probably report it
I was seeing a specialist a few weeks ago and had two very large, fresh bruises on my face and neck from a fall (I'm fine, no one hurt me). I was a bit disheartened that no one inquired. As a nurse, I would have.
During an emergency trip to the hospital, I blew six veins due to dehydration. By the time I was home and back to seeing my physician, it felt everyone was carefully pulling me aside and asking if I was safe because of the bruises. Bored Panda spoke with Nyomi Winter, a project officer, blogger, and mother who is vocal about feminism, to explore why the movement remains essential for women today.
“At the most basic level, feminism is so important to me because women and girls deserve equal rights and opportunities just as much as boys and men, yet that has still not been fully achieved in modern society,” she tells us. “This means not only are girls and women missing out, but society as a whole is losing out on their talent and the progress that could be achieved by maximizing that.”
Better yet do women have the right to deny them local anesthetic when having a vasectomy.

i totally agree with this yes they might be the father but the mother is one delivering its their body their choice dont matter what anyone else says
if I had kids, whoever's giving birth to them is getting the utmost amount of care because HOLY S**T THERE'S A BABY IN YOU!!
Ideally both parents have the same goals to keep Mom and baby safe and healthy during child birth and will want the same thing. If that's not the case then you need to question what the man actually wants most, if he's not listening to his wife's needs. He probably didn't care most for his family and has some other motive.
I 100% think men should get a say, but I also think women should 100% get to tell them it's time for them to be quiet because she has a job to do and she is going to do it her way.
Unless a man is pushing a full on human out then he can decide on the pain meds but until he's the one doing the birth, he has no say whatsoever unless he's advocating for his partner. Then and only then can he speak to pain meds

I went to work the day after finding my Italian greyhound bloodied and bruised from unexpected violent seizures, and my disabled partner broken hearted after having to crawl her way across the floor to be with her. One of Nyomi’s biggest concerns is the increasing threat of male violence against women.
“I would like to see more done to address male violence towards women and girls because it feels like this has gotten worse lately, not better,” she says. “Why are misogynist narratives from ‘men’s rights’ influencers such as Andrew Tate resonating so strongly with young boys? How do we combat that?”
As a mother, these issues feel deeply personal. “I have a daughter and a son. One of my biggest fears for my daughter is that she will experience violent abuse because of these narratives. One of my biggest fears for my son is that he could be influenced by misogynistic ideas and end up perpetuating harm to women.”
They do that because that's what they think is what makes women valuable. They don't value women for their intellect or their opinions.

Men don't judge other men by their beauty - but by height, obnoxiousness, and how much they lift.
You'd be surprised how common this belief is in history. There was a woman accused of blasphemy in ancient Greece. Her defense was to show her breasts. How could she have the beauty she possesses if not from the gods? Beauty = Truth, Truth = Beauty. It sounds nice, but it leads to some weird thinking.
“Beauty is an enormous, unmerited gift given randomly, stupidly.” - And the Mountains Echoed
Why do articles like this post sexist posts like this? They complain about being called ugly and fat and then do the same thing to men. Likely there are millions of men across the world that are better looking than her, so she has no reason to brag.
This is even more evident of the book. I read The Lord of the Rings when I was 10 and I think that spoiled me for real life.
Plus it unfairly teaches that living in a comfy space and eating all the time are valid life goals.

So the criticism of the lack of women and the racist undertones in some places should be tempered by the fact that he was teaching his sons the exact opposite of toxic masculinity. Fun fact - Tolkien was thinking of Jews when developing the Dwarves.
When I went to Quebec, a few years back, I was surprised at the casual affection that males showed one another.
Somewhere (probably here!) I read about how some cultures would tie a rope around the man's testicles. Every time a contraction hit, the woman would yank on the rope to share the pain.
As a man I approve. It's crazy what pregnancy does to a woman's body and I can't help but think that most men (including myself) simply have no f*****g idea whatsoever what is involved beyond our scant few minutes of jiggling.

No, you don't 'deserve sick days'. If you're sick, you're sick, however long it takes for you to recover. This will never cease to amaze me. It's one of the reasons I'm glad I'm not in the US. The husband of a friend of mine was diagnosed with terminal cancer. His employer kept him on the books until the day he died, almost a year later. Off and on he would be able to work for a day or two a week and they were always glad to have him. They hired a new guy who worked those two days in tandem with him. That's how it should be. Where I live, if you're ill, you can't be fired. Only after you've been ill/sick for two years your employer will have to ask for permission to let you go.
In America, we workers are treated as a necessary evil. Lower than even the machines and tools. Definitely not an investment that requires periodic maintenance.

Love you too, Grandma. However, I find that ironic because when my siblings and I were much younger, my mom asked her if she could watch us for a couple hours a week so she could go to her Zumba class—she was an instructor—and my grandma would say "I already raised my kids, I don't need to raise any more." Next time she gets into me on this, I'll gently remind her of that statement, then ask her why she's so concerned with someone else's choice to birth children or not.
That is a really bítchy thing for your grandma to say. Well, both of those things.

Load More Replies...This was the reason I got a vasectomy 11,5 years ago, after the birth of our second child. I did not want my wife to risk blood clots and other side effects from the pill just for us to be able to have sex without the risk of her getting pregnant again. It was a mutual decision, BTW. (She was not very good at being pregnant).
Because men have made it so. They are concerned about their virility, not so concerned about pregnancy - that's a woman's job.
Male orgasms arn't necessary either - pre c*m alone will get a girl pregnant - I'm PROOF!!!
Because it's about the consequences not the actions. In the end the consequences are much much much larger for woman. I would like to add though that there is a year long contraception for men called ADAM. it's not fair but men simply don't bare burden and many see little incentive to pursue contraception on their end beyond a condom, if that.
Well, one reason men don't have a medical option (only barriers) is that they don't carry any of the health risks of the pregnancy. This changes the risk/benefit calculation for d**g approval so that even not very serious side effects can prevent approval. This is kind of broken, but it's true.
Because society has screwed men over by not providing them with birth control pills that work on men. Women don't know how lucky they are to be able to control their reproduction with a pill.
Up. No. They're cause by people having sex. Protected. Or not. Don't want a kid. Abstain

Good luck with funding libraries with our current US government. They want us ignorant and compliant.
Libraries in the US are local government run. Write to your mayor, your selectmen, your country clerk. It's been years since federal or state government was helping to support libraries at all, which is itself stupid, but it means they aren't beholden to country level madness. Even where books are being banned, it's by local community consent.

It's not just the Feds. State government is worse. This is the reason you need to vote in all elections. It's the only way to stop the dumbing down of America or any other nation. They don't want you to understand their motives. Libraries are the last bastion of knowledge, not the internal.

Any man (or person, really, but usually man) that claims filling an entire day with things not related to kids or the household is easy, has a spouse at home on the verge of filing for divorce.
All the men throughout history who achieved great things could only do so if they had a woman at home—-wife, mother, maid—-taking care of everything else for them, so they didn’t have to worry and could devote all their time and energy to the great thing(s) they were about to do. If they had to do that work, plus work a full time job AND take care of the house, the kids, the pets, and cook three meals a day and clean up afterward, every day, day in and day out, there would have been practically NO time left for them to do the wonderful things that made them famous. Give a woman of equal intellect, talent, and ambition the same freedom, and most of the great achievements would’ve been made by women—-decades earlier and way better.

I really loved the moral of The Princess and the Frog for the same reason. Sometimes a dream can turn into an obsession that might well not be worth the price. Yes, Tiana's dream of opening her own restaurant is admirable, but she pursues it at the cost of having a life outside of work (and she didn't *have* to do it all on her own, as is later shown when Naveen and Louis join forces with her to make it happen). It just represents to me that not worrying about appearances is just a waste of time.
I can not upvote this enough. Children need to be allowed to play outside, and use their imaginations, and get dirty. Somehow, somewhere we seem to have lost this. Let them do the things that kids do. If they drink out of the hose, or skin their knees, or play in the mud, this is not a bad thing. It makes for much better adjusted adults

A little off topic but at a lecture on ADHD I attended 25 years ago, it was pointed out that very few people with ADHD traits go into teaching. I will disagree a bit. A "family" requires at least two humans. Otherwise I agree. It's another pet peeve I have - why does a person who lives alone with their plants have the need to be called "a family"? It's like a person driving a sedan demanding that their sedan be called "a truck". The term "family" developed to describe a unit made up of more than one human. I think that requiring three humans for it to be called a family is also OK. However, it describes a situation, not a morally or ethically higher state of living.
i will disagree with you. family is shared love. if someone loves their plants, and the plants love them, i think that's a family.

17 to 18 is not a fully mature body, it is late adolescent/teenage. Womens bodies do not fully mature until at least 25.
No one’s body—-or brain—-is fully grown and developed until their mid-twenties. I grew another inch and a half in height, gained about 10 lbs, and went up another size and an half in shoes, between the ages of 18 and 25. I also gained fully developed critical thinking skills by that time. TBH, considering someone to be an adult at 18 is incorrect. 25 should be the age when people are considered old enough to vote, go into the military, and drink. I would also say drive, but in the US we don’t have a lot of excellent public transportation—-some places have none at all—-so driving earlier is kind of a necessity until we straighten our act out and start improving things (ain’t gonna happen at all unless we finally get rid of all the knuckledraggers presently in positions of undeserved power).

If the “male population” would STOP using menstruation and its symptoms against us, to belittle us and diminish us by turning us into nothing but a pile of hormones, then maybe we would be more open about it. But since they want to ascribe our fully justified anger at them, disagreement with them, or lack of sexual interest in their disgusting selves to being g “on the rag” and “PMSing”, then we would rather they remain unaware of what’s going on inside our bodies. How many of those "83 Million American Men" are subscribing to the Only Fans channel of an artist? How many of the 1.5 million Only Fan creators are artists? This is BS on both sides.
We can safely assume actuall artists are in rounding error in compare to porn on this site.

Agree whole-heartedly! And it needs to start in school. I taught at a school for at-risk kids. We had a policy of not assigning homework. I was amazed when many of the kids said they tried problems at home and asked me to look at them. I'd always keep my comments as neutral and objective as I could. At teacher conferences, parents would tell me it was mostly out of boredom.

I'm going to put it on my CV when I start applying for my next job, when we're ready for it. I'm a man BTW, if that is relevant.

I love my mother to pieces, and she's a very smart woman about a lot of things, but I'm beginning to think she reads at under a high school senior level. She never graduated because she got pregnant with my sister at 16, but I don't think she understands a lot of what she reads. She gets it if you explain it to her, but not if she reads it herself.
My husband and I own our own pest control business. We’re growing to the point where we have to hire another employee. We posted the job on Indeed, and our ad mentioned we would be willing to train the right person. It also said a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. We live in a rural area, even though there are both community colleges and universities located here, and you would not believe the number of applications we’ve received from people, grown adults anywhere from their twenties to their fifties, who only have a junior high education (and it shows on their applications), and I don’t mean they went to junior high, dropped out, then got their GED. I mean they went no further than junior high, and obviously had previously been held back at least a year or two because you can’t drop out of high school unless you’re at least 16. If their high school starts in 9th grade, they’re two years older than their fellow 8th grade students, who are only 14. It’s both appalling and incredibly sad.
I referred a patron to a specific coworker instead of just sending him to the desk. He was asking how to become a volunteer here and I told him the first name of our volunteer coordinator. Got my ear chewed for that one.
Welp, that's my current biggest relationship fear right there. Would be nice to have some sort of advice on how to find out whether he wants you and not just any girlfriend.
if he wants you, he will think about you. he doesn't even have to try. it will be automatic. he sees something and thinks of you. then he tells you about it. or he comes home with some random dumb gift because it made him think of you. if he's not doing these things, you're just a placeholder.

There’s also a documentary about an old folks home that rented space to a daycare, and the kids and old folks spent a lot of time together, reading stories, doing crafts, eating lunch together, or just talking with each other. Both groups benefitted greatly from the mix. I wonder why either of these scenarios aren’t the norm by now, as they both benefit all parties involved.
Oh, that's right Tabitha, I also recall hearing about the college students living in old folks homes. This should be done more.

So for free I can go hog wild and checkout a combination of 50 audiobooks or e-books each month. Plus, one library system offers free subscription to a separate app with documentaries and independent films, up to 10 digital checkouts per month. If I take the time to go into the physical branch of the library (any of the 4), I can reserve then checkout a wifi Hotspot, usually a month checkout. Unlimited data. So yeah, I also love saving my money by using public libraries. I've already paid for the access via taxes, why not use them?
Years ago, I went to a library in a nearby county, and asked for a library card. The woman told me that they now have cards that cover the whole state. I told her that didn't matter to me. It was a badge of honor to have so many different libraries. I go to libraries whereever I am if I'm waiting for someone. That is where we meet if the time is not written in stone. I can wait there for however long it takes for them to get there.

The problem I have with libraries is you have to give the books back. I don’t like doing that. Once a book is in my possession it’s my book and you can’t have it
My daughter 2000 miles away has my library access code and uses it - I have access to a much larger library than she does.
In a past era my cross eyed double vision wouldn't be fixed and I'd be lobotomized for refusing to have children
I'm not sure which part you need explained, so I'll explain it all! Many people tend to say they were "born in the wrong era" because they like the culture/aesthetics/etc of a past era/decade more. This person disagrees with that, because they like what we have in this era-fanfiction, which is like... take a book/show/movie you like and write your own story with those characters! It can expand on something that did happen, take the story in a different direction, completely rewrite it if you wish. It's a good way to connect with other fans of the same media and interact with it! As for the talking to gay people on their phone- Communication is so much easier now, so it's easy to make friends and talk to fellow gay people just from the phone in your pocket. It's another way of connecting with community that didn't exist in past eras.

They will fall for a woman just the way she actually is, then spend the rest of their time together trying to change her into the exact opposite of herself. If you want a certain type of woman, go find someone who is naturally like that, instead of trying to force the rest of us to change. Of course, women who match the type men want simply do not exist in nature.

Late one winter's night on a poorly lit road I suffered a tyre puncture. Being a self reliant woman I got the jack out, the wrench and set about jacking the car up. Several cars went by, but that's OK because I was doing alright. Then a car parked beside me, driver got out and said would I like some help, as he could see I was on my own. I was very grateful for his help, especially as he then said he had turned round a bit further down the road and come back to me.
See this seems fine, asking if you want help. But the post makes it sound like a man just showed up and grabbed it all forcing himself into the position to help whether it was needed or not. Your story sounds wholesome and great, the original sounds creepy and irritating.
