My name is Matthew and I'm the creator of "Swords", a webcomic series all about magical swords and the people who live by them (and sometimes die by them, too).
Starting as a single strip on Reddit that got a burst of popularity, Swords is now a huge world filled with Demon Swords, Ageless Gods, and Heroes fighting for a laugh or two. The series has just turned 6!

Surely its like humans talking in puns about being humans
When my first "Sword" comic was appreciated by the audience, I knew I had created something exceptional. The series doesn't take sides or try to offend anyone by making light fun of various fantasy clichés.
I've always wanted to create comics. I used to post more serious, long-form comics on my deviantArt, but I always had a very niche following. "Swords" took off not just because it got lucky and became popular on Reddit early on, but because I had enough experience to recognize that it was a good thing that needed me to devote my attention to it.
A good comic idea usually comes together in a few minutes, but sometimes you need to let it cook in the back of your mind for a few days. Whatever dialogue I thought up when I started usually gets tweaked and optimized as I'm drawing the episode, which can take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours to draw based on complexity.
Yeah untill he puts anything near the table edge

Load More Replies...Unless one of them had an asthma inhaler that the other didn't like on the 50th anniversary Dr Who special...
Mimics are typically inanimate, everyday objects, but they can mimic anything :)
Load More Replies...Next thing you know, the gnomes will be pelting them with +2 Brussels sprouts... they'll have to roll against stench to survive.
Load More Replies...Well, if you look at the guy's boxers in #1, Kargob has eight eyes . . .
Kargob himself isn't even consistent with the number of eyes he has
Load More Replies...He has 4 eyes, wears glasses, and there have been holy wars over the number of eyes he has.
Does that mean he has four sight but it's a bit blurry?
Load More Replies...A god should be more than capable of changing its eye-count for any situation.
Unfortunately the forbidden knowledge is just a recipe for pineapple pizza...
Load More Replies...I'm going Druck, all the way! (i bet you can summon a crocodile with it... or malaria)
Are you actually the guy who makes these? I love them, and I can't wait to see more of the story.
