“Rules are for other people,” says the entitled person. Sheer force of will is the only invitation they need, and “no” is simply the opening line of a negotiation they are determined to win. When they come face-to-face with a “good cop,” it’s an easy win.

Regardless, they saw the lack of an invitation as a mere clerical error.
The first attempt to breach the perimeter was a polite “no” from the narrator’s partner, which was promptly ignored. They then escalated, sending in the dad to make a phone call, assuming he could bully his way in. This was a catastrophic miscalculation. The partner, knowing this required a firmer hand, made a strategic decision and sent the OP (the “hard one” in the relationship) into battle.
She was a pro at shutting down entitlement. When the dad complained, “You’re not making us feel very welcome,” he was met with the ice-cold “because you aren’t.” His demand to speak to her partner was shut down, too. He even tried to say there must be a family representative, which was met with another hard “no.” The conversation was a rapid-fire series of brutal, hilarious, and utterly effective rejections.
The couple is standing firm, having successfully neutralized the verbal onslaught. But they are not naive. They are fully prepared for them to show up on their wedding day anyway, and they have a plan for that, too. As the OP bluntly states, if they try anything, they’ll be “leaving in handcuffs,” a perfect, non-negotiable end to a conversation that should never have happened in the first place.

I make no apology for waiting for an update where the drama happened and EntFam decided they were going anyway and got kicked to the kerb so hard, it needed surgical removal. But also hope it just goes really smoothly.

I bet they’re estranged because OP and fiancée are both women, and to them a gay marriage is a sideshow act to gawk at. I wouldn’t want a******s like that at my wedding or reception either. You shun me and ignore me for years or decades? Then you can f**k all the way off if you think you’re getting anywhere near my wedding or reception, you entitled a*****e.
