As Paul Hitlin, the organization’s senior research manager, said, “It’s a small decrease, but the larger overall trend is a real concern—that only about a quarter or so of the public trusts the government.”

I use public transport and as someone on unemployment I have a concession which means I can ride the bus for free... but ONLY during peak hours. If I catch a bus after 6pm on a weekday I get charged. Which means I'm essentially being told that as I don't have a job I'm not "allowed" to go out at night. Like dude it's not as if I have a job to get up early for.

Honestly, I know a retired cop that was on ground zero the day of and every day after for 9 months. They knew themselves. There was never any doubt. Everyone knew, but they ALSO knew they had to do their duty. Their shoes were crumbling from all of the chemicals they were exposed to, but they were honored and proud to serve. He has suffered a number of severe medical issues related to 9/11 but he said if he had to do it over again he would.
