Your comment proves their point that is better to use Karen for any bitchy entitled woman, rather than a name that is "race specific". The fact that it's mostly used to categorize white females is just a testament to how they happen to be more likely to exhibit such behavior... Trust me, I can tell thousands of "Karen" stories that span all of the races. I've met a lot of "Ken's" as well, the make counterpart to a Karen.

While you're right that a white woman is the most typical example of this entitlement, the term Karen actually originated from people of color to describe white women who weaponized their privilege against people of color, and it has since spread to include all forms of entitlement (though it still leans towards privilege having a role - there is an unbalanced power dynamic between most essential workers and customers based largely in the low wages and minimal job security in essential positions).

One again, grow up. If you look at YouTube channels which compile these videos you'll see people of all colours. Your use of the name Shenequa in this way shows you up for the disgusting Proud Boy incel that you are.

It's used for anyone who is specifically an asshole to service/retail industry workers. Since those tend to be rich older people... and white people are the ones with all the wealth... it just so happened that a lot of those people who were assholes to service/retail workers tended to be named Karen, a popular name among white boomers. Thus the name stuck because these people that kept making life hell for service/retail workers were repeatedly named Karen. It is not required that someone is white though for them to be a "Karen", just that they are an asshole to service workers/retail workers and exhibit a specific sense of entitlement.

A female-specific insult that is characterized by a trait which that woman possesses is not the same as an insult that is characterized solely by being a woman. Does that make sense (not asking that in a condescending manner - sincerely just trying to spell out the differential element)? Like A is always B, but B is not always A. A [an insult used against women because they're women] is always misogynistic, but B [an insult against women] is not always A [misogynistic]. The difference is whether or not the insult is used against those characterized by simply being a woman or whether it's an insult used against women based on a specific characteristic (beyond just their being female.)

Calling someone a Karen because they are being an asshole to service/retail workers: not misogynistic. Calling someone a Karen just because they're a woman: misogynistic.

there are plenty of vids of women of all races being called Karen. The fact that the majority of the ones everyone sees are white women just speaks to who is more guilty of that sort of behavior.
