Having a positive and harmonious relationship with your colleagues is essential for a productive and enjoyable professional environment. However, when Reddit user Indigowulf worked at a call center, one person was just too self-absorbed to be a team player.

Recently, she made a post on the subreddit ‘Petty Revenge‘ detailing a particularly memorable interaction they had, and it highlights that it’s impossible to win if you’re making enemies with everyone in the office.

Everything started when Indigowulf’s coworker, who she dubbed Karen, tried to get her in trouble with HR and told them the woman was looking too provocative and violating the dress code.

Little did Karen know, however, she would be summoned next for sexual harassment.

    Luckily, she managed to turn the situation around and come out on top

    We managed to get in touch with Indigowulf and she agreed to have a little chat with us about that infamous day.

    “It was a job, it paid the bills, I had some cool coworkers and they were the best part about the job,” the woman told Bored Panda. “HR was half my age, we were all new hires because the business was relatively new itself. I don’t blame HR, they seemed so awkward about the whole thing, like they were not trained on how to handle this. That’s why I only reminded them that I could report them, and did not actually do it. I didn’t want to ruin their lives.

    Indigowulf said nobody really missed Karen after she was gone. “There were hundreds of us, we didn’t even notice her absence as far as workflow went.”

    Sadly, almost everyone can relate to Indigowulf at least on some level. A 2022 study has found that 90% of Americans say they have a co-worker that annoys them. Furthermore, the survey, conducted by Quality Logo Products, discovered that 57% of workers say they have considered quitting their job at some point just because of an annoying co-worker.

    Moving communication online helps to reduce this problem but doesn’t solve it. According to the survey, 55% of people working from home are annoyed with co-workers in their remote setting.

    The three most annoying co-worker habits were found to be:

    • Interrupting during virtual meetings;
    • Taking credit for someone else’s work;
    • Oversharing from your personal or hobbies.

    The study also found that 68% of Americans have confronted a coworker about being annoying, and that 60% of respondents claim entry and mid-level coworkers are the most irritating.

    Of course, nobody’s perfect. Amy Gallo, the author of Getting Along: How to Work with Anyone (Even Difficult People), thinks that navigating the complexity of human relationships is no easy task, especially in times of stress, or when we feel threatened.

    “Even the most seasoned workplace veterans can find themselves focusing on the short-term goal of ego or reputation protection (I need to win this argument or to look good in front of my team) rather than the long-term one of behaving honorably and preserving collegiality,” Gallo said.

    I was honestly under the impression that, barring surgery or a birth defect, everyone has nipples. Silly me.

    It would seem we are both equally silly. I too lived under this assumption.

    I used to work at a jail as a bond clerk and one of the women there hated me because I could do the job better after a month than she di after 6 years. She reported me for not wearing a bra. Once again, not in the handbook. I showed the supervisor my bra strap and said "I'm a Double D. If I wasn't wearing a bra I'd be hanging out the bottom of my shirt." She kind of stammered and told me I could go back to work. I was fired at 6 months because I missed the garbage with a plastic fork and this psycho told them I was a demon with supernatural powers and used them to throw a fork at her. If you think someone is a demon, you think it's a good idea to tick her off? lol

    They don't make demons like they used to. In my days, demons had pitchforks, brimstone and hooves. Today's demons have plastic forks and lousy aim. Dante would be very sad.

    So bizarre that my nipples are outlaws. Must hide, pretend they aren't there, must wear an uncomfortable bra with extra "lining" to disguise & hide even the slightest shape of them. I can be ARRESTED if they see the light of day. Every mammal on earth had nipples but somehow the nipples of a human woman are a danger & a threat to society?!! They seem to be worthy of contempt, ridicule, harassment to the point that others can weigh in with how someones nips upset them, women can be arrested, jobs can be lost, write-ups & warnings given. How and why do these two little buttons of darker skin on my chest cause any issue at all? They are not obscene or lewd, they are not genitals, the are not sex organs. It's insane & ridiculous. It's time to challenge the law. It's time to flip a nip to a cop, get arrested & challenge it in court because it's sexual discrimination. All it'll take is for a bunch of us to inundate the courts with discrimination suits. NO MORE

    This kind of c**p IS real. So real it p***'s me off. As I read the article & comments, I was trying to put a number on the amount of times I've had stuff similar too this happen. I couldn't, any I was only considering the workplace place issues! I'm so sick of women being judged, gauged, and interfered with simply for being a woman. I truly don't think men have any idea how constant harassment & discrimination acts against women occur. I wish they'd talk to as many women they know in their own lives & learn how the other half lives. Maybe then they'd do things like vote yes on equally rights amendment, call it out when they see it hear it, not laugh at the shady "jokes". You know, stand for other people's rights as much as they stand for their own.

    I used to wear turtlenecks (definitely with bra, too) in the winter, and sometimes my nips popped. If anyone had ever complained or sent me to HR, I'd have asked them about the VP who wore pants so tight that his man-bulge was pronounced and graphic. In a state where toplessness is not illegal, his clothing was obscene.

    I wonder if OP has Dysautonomia. My wife also has issues regulating body temperature because she cannot sweat. I had to drive her many times to the ER for heat stroke. Her mention brought back some pretty scary memories. The nipple thing is absurd.

    In the eighty's my boss question me about wearing bra. It was in the dress code. I had punched out, so I unhooked my bra and took it off under my shirt and waved it at him.
