Well obviously, credentials are given and necessary on certain occasions - not every mission is clandestine. Sometimes you and other agents have to meet up. How to you prove who you are? And suppose you're in a tight spot and need the help of another agency asset i.e. MI6 or Mossad. How to you prove your allegiance? Read a book. Or two. Some of these questions are really lame.

If he isn't reaching out, maybe he's protecting you. You never know what cases these agents come up against. The era of D**g cartels saw some of the worst repercussions dealt out to family and friends. Let go. As a writer I can tell you I would not be looking for any friend in Intelligence who's distanced themselves from me. There was on case of an agent who had his wife's face mailed to him -- that's supposedly true.
