Hey Pandas, What Was One Time A Stranger Was Kind To You Unexpectedly?
I remember one ocassion very fondly: Several years ago while travelling in the countryside I stopped at a very cozy roadside restaurant. I asked if they accepted cards and the owner told me they did. I was hungry, so I ordered a big meal and several refills of coffee. When it was time to pay the owner told me they actually did not accept card and that the meal was free. I was stunned. The owner then told me: "if I have told you we do not accept cards you would have driven on. There isn't another restaurant in several miles, just a couple of stores. You would have gone hungry and I would have lost a customer." Needless to say, I stopped there with cash when I returned and I have done that ever since. The place is still there, and always packing.

Twin sisters. The good one straight A student and a perfect angel is now 90 pounds soaking wet and just finished her 4th stint in rehab for drugs. The one who was a trouble maker and constantly in trouble even arrested a few times for drugs and shop lifting while in high school, is a doctor with a family.

Forbidding my (straight male) partner to spend time with female friends. He's a grown-a*s man; he should know how to hold healthy boundaries. It shouldn't be on me to keep him from cheating. If he's really gonna fall into the pants of the first girl I leave him alone with, she can have him. Similarly, blaming someone else for my partner's failings, and/or trying to "win back" someone who doesn't want me. He's a big boy who can make his own choices (even bad ones), and I want a partner who wants to be with me, not someone I had to talk into staying. (For the record, my dudeman of 20 years is awesome.)Show All 34 Upvotes
