Artist Refuses To Admit His Mistake In A Comic About Sharks, Hilariously Trolls Everyone Who Tries To Prove Him Wrong
An amusing little comic called ‘The Person Who Discovered Sharks’ took on a life of its own recently after the artist, Brooklyn-based Branson Reese, decided to have a little fun in the comments.
The comic itself is short and sweet, depicting a guy dipping into the sea only to be eaten by ‘smooth lions.’ We all know that means sharks, and some people were quick to point out that sharks aren’t actually smooth.

Rather than admit to a mistake (perhaps this was planned all along?) Branson decided to have a little fun and double down on his claims. No, it is you, veteran scuba diver, that is wrong!
The thread that followed makes for amusing reading as some people continued to try to convince Branson of the truth, while others just played along.
The exchange got almost 50k reactions on Twitter as more people engaged with Branson’s comments than with the comic itself. Maybe this could be a new angle for comic artists? Drop a subtle mistake in the comic and take to the comments to defend it?

It is funny when people just can't see they're being done like this. So many smooth fish in his keep net.

It’s ridiculous how adamant people were to prove him wrong, completely missing the obvious: He’s an artist, and art has no business imitating life. I liked how persistent he was while still maintaining humour 😁

Sharks are "smooth" compared to lions because the don't have hair. Also, as a dying thought, the swimmer was not able to find the proper for vocabulary words to describe his situation.

I can confirm that sharks are rough. I used one a few hours ago to grate cheese into my pasta. 11/10 cheese grater

Awesome author Jack Whyte describes the hilt of freakin _EXCALIBUR_ being covered in shark skin because of its course texture. But you be you, artist, and stick to your original statement, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

It's like trying to get Chump supporters to admit he's an idiot. All this evidence in your face and nothing. It's that little kid with all the chocolate frosting on his face that still won't admit that he ate the chocolate cake that was fine 5 seconds ago. it's 100% fact, you're just too much of a coward to admit you're wrong.
