Friendship is one of the most beautiful things in life. Everybody deserves and even needs a friend. Especially if that friend is like Blobby the Blob Fish, who, as one of the creators has put it, is "the magical best friend you always wished you had".

Friends provide a comfortable oasis for all of the bad things that constantly happen in our lives. From little disappointments right down to injustice, there's plenty of unjust stuff going on, and it's important that somebody should share it, especially if it's done between friends, in a safe environment. There is such a hospitable environment, and there are social issues being constantly brought up in the friend circle of Blobby & Friends, a comic that masterfully ties these two things together.

More info: Instagram | Facebook

Don't know about you, but didn't you notice how detailed the visual style is, how well-drawn and fleshed out the graphics and the characters are? Well, a whole team is working behind each and every comic, and this collective collaboration really shows, considering the output and the quality of each individual panel and the comic strip in general. In a sense, these collective hours of hard work have paid off, and they bask in the glory of over half a million followers on Instagram, which is A LOT by any standards. And the fact that this project has worked so well is really awesome! "To be honest, we didn't expect things to go the way they did and I am full of love and gratitude towards our audience."

As you noticed, Blobby is the glue (or the blob) that holds the team together, but other characters also deserve to be mentioned. "[Other folks] who appear in the comics are Lily, their human friend (and I really relate to her character a lot, I'm not sure why), Ashley, who is Lily's crush, and Charlie / Punk Kid who can come off as intimidating but is really the most soft and wholesome character we've ever come up with. That's why Charlie is modeling our underwear," Zack said, laughing.

I hate the "what if your husband wants kids?" ... Why do you think I'd marry someone who doesn't feel the way I do about this?

My wife started asking for this at 16. They still refused after age 40 because "you might change your mind". Every stinking time she went.

After 40… when she would be considered a "geriatric mum" (yup, that's the actual term) and it's *not* recommended because of the additional health complications? Your wife's doctors need a serious attitude readjustment. To the side of the head with a chair if necessary. 😡

Argh!! If I change my mind that is MY problem anyway, not yours. FFS. I had to put up with agonising endometriosis because of a twat of a doctor deciding I might change my mind about children. Well, guess what, found out later through surgery that I couldn't have had them anyway. Thanks for the years of agony Dr Fe-ckwit.

Parents should above all else want their children to be happy, if kids aren't going to make you happy than they shouldn't care. Also if you don't want kids you would look for partner who also doesn't want kids or at least is open to a life without them.

My friend's childless younger brother got a vasectomy at 23. No lecture, no questions. They just outlined what the procedure would be like and recovery time and he signed the paperwork to set up the day surgery.

My OBGYN was asking whether there was any chance I could be pregnant, I replied no. This wasn't sufficient and she apparently required more information including whether or not I was s active I replied yes. There was then a lot of back and forth as to how I knew I wasn't pregnant then and blah blah blah. She then asked me what contraception I was using to which my response was "women" and I have never wanted a mic to drop so much in my life 🤗

I had this conversation with the doctor. I was divorced with an 11 year old child. Even if I remarried, I wanted no more babies but the doctor felt that a grown woman could not make these decisions for herself. He was more concerned with the needs of some man I might possibly meet some day... maybe. SHEESH.

Apperantly people forget adoption is a thing. I've had endometriosis, uterus dydelphys and I'm transgender. I never wanted kids since I was 12 (I'm 21 now) and they give me this c**p too

How about all male children have to get a vasectomy until they are married and they have their wives consent that they are ready to start having children to have it reversed. Ooorrr you could respect everyone's personal bodily autonomy and believe that they know best what the f to do with it.

My doctor did this to me. Even though my periods were hideous, even though it was obviously inflamed. I wanted a hysterectomy because my family has a history of cancer, mental illness, and autoimmune diseases. I didn't want to pass that on.

That doc desperately needs a, er, cranial-rectal separation. I would recommend anyone who experiences this at this point find a new provider and complain to their state medical board if you can (I am well aware this isn't an option for many people). Please be aware that board complaints are very serious but this is unacceptable and I wish doctors were more afraid that they might get investigated for this than they were that a woman who had planned the time and money to go through with this might not have thought about what it means to not have kids.

Then you tell other women you've had your tubes tied, and they say, "Oh, but you can have it undone!" or "You just haven't met the right man yet!" At least in my generation.

It's called adoption. Why go through a process that can potentially kill everyone involved when there's so many others slipping through the cracks? Nah, I think I'd rather live without that risk.

you're a doctor; listen to your patients. if they don't want children, then they don't. besides, they literally are paying you a hefty sum for doing this. don't interfere in their lives.

I think people should just SHUT UP sometimes like, my body is my body. If my husband or parents want kids or grandkids, too bad. It’s your decision what you do. And I think it was so out of his place to talk about her family and her personal life like that.

I have said since I was 13 I didn't want kids. Everyone was like "you'll change your mind". 37 now, still don't want kids, have horrible medical issues that could have been passed down if I had kids, so really happy I don't have kids.

I have 4 kids..3 of those pregnancies were very difficult and I still had to petition the insurance company to get my tubes tied. Luckily, my Dr was on my side and put it on as life threatening if I got pregnant again

In Brazil is insanely difficult both women and men having cirurgical ways to prevent pregnancy, like tying tubes and vasectomy. Even when you're paying for this.

I couldn't find a doctor to give me a vasectomy between the ages of 18 and 25 because I didn't have any children and the operation would be "unethical"... I finally got a vasectomy at 26 with a newborn I didn't want... Vasectomy reversals have like a 98% success rate... If I can't come up with the 3 grand or whatever the procedure costs maybe I shouldn't be having a child...

Like any elective surgery, the doctor SHOULD ask questions. What if she's being pressured into it? Doctors can be just as awkward as anyone else, and usually care about their patients enough to make sure that you're sure before cutting into your body with a friggin knife

There's a case where a group of kids who were born from the Nazis Hitler youth program who sterilized themselves because they were afraid one of them would sire another Hitler. If you want to sterilize yourself fine but think it through first because you can't take it back, especially if your a guy oh and the girl can have the tubes untied for all I know later she just doesn't want kids now.

my wife didn't want kids when she was in her 20's. it was a big no. she radically changed in her 30's. we stopped at 3 but she still wanted more. you don't know how life will turn around. this is why doctor don't want to do this kind of surgical procedure to young womans.

In the previous post, Zack, one of the authors of the comic, has given an interview explaining the mysterious circumstances of the comic's origin and how they're doing as of right now. "I don't know if there's one thing that inspired me to start the comics in the way that it exists today. We actually started with something really simple, with funny and cute gags that were more at the surface level. As the account grew, we realized we had an opportunity to use Blobby to speak up about more serious topics," Zack explained. "Listening to the reactions from our followers also made a huge difference for us. I can speak only for myself but I really feel like I’ve personally grown with this world we've created."

Blobby and friends have blessed us with their wholesome presence here at Bored Panda before, and if you're hooked and want to see more of this comic goodness, check it out here. If you want to take a detour from these comics and jump on to the next one, here's something that we've recently posted. Perhaps you want to educate yourself more about certain life struggles from a feminist perspective; if so, we have just the thing to offer, namely Promptly Paneled comics. And while some people struggle in life due to systemic injustice, some people that inspired this comic just struggle at life in general. And here's an awkward and out-of-the-blue suggestion: take a look at these comics that explore the same awkwardness that this sentence just caused.

My mum never let me have my hair cut how I want it. I always had to push the boundaries and ended up getting 20's bob haircuts. One time mum wasn't paying much attention and I got it cut how I liked. Now it's stuck how I like it because I can't grow it out without getting a mullet (mum hates mullets so it's gotta be short).
