32 Older People Who Unknowingly Shamed Themselves Online, Much To Everyone’s Entertainment
Generation gaps will always exist. There will always be profound differences in values, beliefs, and approaches in life between older folks and younger people.
That disparity may lead to clashes that can sometimes turn embarrassing. Baby Boomers, for example, may shoot themselves in the foot with their statements and overall attitude, much like what you will see through the following images.
We picked out these posts from the Boomers Being Fools subreddit. Sure, some of these may be laughable, but others are just downright unhinged. Either way, may you have an entertaining time scrolling through.

It's Annoying
Money can’t buy happiness, …. No it can’t that’s true . But it can bloody well pay the bills !, and remove at least some of the stress from our lives !!!!
It wouldn’t be fair to focus all the criticism on boomers for supposedly being out of touch with reality. Older generations have always clashed with their younger counterparts, and it has been happening for decades.
University of California, Santa Barbara academics John Protzo and Jonathan Schooler published a 2019 study examining recurring complaints older folks have about the younger generation.

The two experts observed that people with authoritarian tendencies are much more likely to perceive younger people as “lacking” in something.
“The ‘kids these days' effect is not just a general belief in societal decline,” the researchers wrote. “While people may believe in a general decline, they also believe that children are especially deficient in the traits in which they happen to excel.”
It's True
It Was Different Back Then
Had a convo with a dude about 5 yrs older than I who told me he could work all summer to cover tuition for the next year of school. He bemoaned the fact those days are history.
Can't Make This Up
But if we’re talking about generational conflict, there hasn’t been one that is more heated than the clash between Baby Boomers and Millennials. There are even studies that examine this rift, including the supposed bias the former has against the latter regarding workplace issues.

I Mean... She's Not Wrong
“Many Baby Boomers have expressed the desire to remain in the workforce longer, and some see Millennials—viewed by employers as cheaper and more adaptable—as standing in their way,” an excerpt from the 2023 study reads.
Meanwhile, the study also found that millennials are also frustrated by how Baby Boomers critique their cultural contributions.

This is why Bernie is like the only good politician atm. Hes pointing out??? That the democrats have also abandoned people????
It Really Is A Shame
However, such conflicts aren’t always a bad thing. As cultural historian Lawrence Samuel points out, generational clashes have historically served as a means of progress for Americans.
“While such divides no doubt create social tension and conflict, they are, all in all, a good thing, as they constantly renew the energy of our country and foster growth and innovation,” he wrote.

Then, young non-Boomers, use your voting rights appropriately. And demand a viable choice out of more than two parties. And demand a cap on funding election campaigns. And try to learn about multi-party coalition and opposition. And demand solud education. You are more people than the Boomer generation.

So, so many of these have nothing to do with Boomers but are MAGA-centric. And others don't relate to the heading at all. Miguel needs to redo his journalism degree.
I hate these daft boomer vs millennial vs whatever generation articles. They create division where there should be none.
I agree especially with the tone they are set in. My mom is the epitome of a hippie kid, im so stereotypical millennial im pushing 40 and still wearing 90s grunge and my girls are outspoken gen z and talking with them is so eye opening. Ive learned alot from my 68yr old mother about life, ive learned alot from my 18yr old about life. Life is ever changing. Each generation is supposed to grow from the last. We borrow from the world, from our children while we're here, we are just part of the process in a constant evolution. Find the beauty, the lesson, the wisdom, and know how from those who are "different" from you, from differnt generations to understand the past and build a better future.
Load More Replies...Full of ageist bigotry. The behavior displayed can be found in all age groups. Was Charlie Kirk (now rotting in hell after God told him She didn't like the way he degraded women) a boomer? If this type of attitude and behavior were confined only to boomers, Trump would never have won a single state, let alone two elections.
All this hate directed at a generation is a sad indictment of narrow thinking habits. Every generation has d***s, every generation has really good people. Such blanket prejudice is just sad
Mines cute and not political. My mom lives a totally normal, run of the mill, 60 somethings life. She likes flowers and grandkids. So I started to get confused by the second time she insisted on going outside of my house to use her phone. I neb nosed a bit but she didnt seem off or anything so I kept an eye. Next time she comes up and goes outside again and I see her texting. My mom doesnt text. Its an affair?! Omg a health issue?! So I go out and say "momma, what's going on. Why are you suddenly hiding your conversations from me? Are you okay?" She told me that since she got this fancy new smart phone with the internet, she didnt think it was right to be using up all my internet that I pay for, so she'd go outside to use the world's (still my wifi) 🤣 mom googles things inside the house now after a little explaining and promising i wasn't getting a bill when she left.
Gross generalizations. I’m a boomer and would never support a MAGA candidate!
Just more vacuous garbage encouraging hate and division. You know who writes them, stupid people with low character.
This isn't about boomers; it's about old people. During the 60s, we called this the "generation gap". Same deal, different time. BTW, did you know that Bernie Sanders is a boomer? 🤔

Load More Replies...I do not class myself as anything but a nigh on 70yr old guy, just getting through life. Those that unnecessarily label others are the problem as this leads to division. When I was young I was grateful for the elderly in passing down their knowledge etc. I would now be equally thankful for a youngster to help me. Instead of the divide there should be unison. But I can only dream....
I normally enjoy very much Bored Panda, but not this one. Many of these posts were extremely partisan.
This is indicative of a sociopolitical divide, not a generational one.
Had to stop reading this when it kept complaining about "boomers." This will age so badly. There is nothing OK about being ageist.
If all the Boomers were to delete their accounts or at least stop commenting for a month I'm sure that would please more than a couple of people, but BP might also notice a significant drop in clicks, and therefore income. At a local big-name market almost all of their staff are either hostile to all of the shoppers, or they treat them as of they don't exist. They'll walk straight at you and make you get out of their way. If they're completely blocking an aisle or a produce gondola they'll stand there talking, ignore the customers' presence, and not let them by. I wrote an email to corporate about this. My main point was that if we weren't shopping there their rude employees wouldn't have jobs. They did not respond, but 2 weeks later all of their staff were wearing neon yellow safety vests, and none of them looked happy about it. Was that related to my email? I don't know, but it was nice to see some of the employee arrogance and self-importance toned down considerably.
Do you believe that painting every person of a certain age with the same broad brush is correct? An awful lot of people who get called Boomers because of their age get lumped in with the ones who are MAGA simply because of their age and appearance. Is that intelligent and fair, or is that prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination? Wouldn't that be the same kind of behavior that those of us of a certain age are all being accused of regardless of our actual beliefs and behavior?
