It looks similar to a computer font, but if you look at the individual e's, o's, etc, they're all slightly different, so it's definitely handwritten!

This is taken from an old ledger, and was written, no with a fountain pen, but with an actual (steel) pen dipped in ink (from an inkwell). It probably dates back from the 19th century.

What a lovely handwriting. This generation however doesn't even know how to write cursive. I have a 16yr old son and apparently it is no longer taught at school. So sad to see the cursive disappearing like short hand did.

Are People With Good Handwriting Considered Smart?
Did you know the famous author Agatha Christie struggled with dysgraphia? It’s a condition that makes writing and spelling quite difficult. However, that never stopped her from penning the famous cases of the legendary detective Hercule Poirot!

Was this taken in Ireland? Because I'm pretty sure I saw a guy writing in chalk on the sidewalk in Dublin the week of Dec. 3 2017, and the writing looked an awful lot like this.

What Are The 4 Ps of Nice Handwriting?
These are the 4 Ps of penmanship:
- Position: Align your hand and paper properly. Make sure to sit up straight and position your notebook at a comfortable angle.
- Posture: You need good posture for better control over your writing. Relax your body but keep your back straight. Avoid hunching over the notebook.
- Pressure: Control the pressure applied to your pen. Too much pressure can lead to hand fatigue. Whereas too little pressure results in illegible writing.
- Practice: Regular practice is important for improving handwriting.

This is EXACTLY how the hardest architecture & engineering tests are planned. You get one predetermined size of paper (sometimes just an index card) & you’re allowed to write any content, formulas, drawings you may think you need. And honestly, as a bad test taker, it’s incredible what these do & how they becoming a comforting collection 🙂

Actually, that's a pointed nib set into an oblique holder. Pointed nibs are used for hands like Copperplate or Spencerian, and this looks like a variation of Spencerian. The oblique holder is helpful when you're writing a script that has a deep cant (slant). Italic is written with a straight holder and a broad nib.

Sorry, but I didn't consider the majority of the examples hand"writing". Most of them would have been considered printing or caligraphy when I was in school. (You know, the Dark Ages.) I think it is sad cursive is no longer being taught in schools. My own granddaughter has trouble reading my cursive letters and I've always been told my hand writing is beautiful script. Everything changes but sometimes not for the better.
