Strawflowers are my favourite! These are lovely, well done! I know they can be challenging to start from seed .. clearly you are an expert level gardener!!

Are these the same as everlasting daisies? They look the same

I had to look up their English name and found different ones. I went for "strawflower" because these are Xerochrysum bracteatum (haha, I'm not showing off, had to look that up too), which are called "Strohblume" in German, which is the literal translation of strawflower.

I don’t name my plants because I think it’s bad luck because when I’ve tried it they’ve died and I have a relatively green thumb.

Potted plants desperately need drainage. When re-potting, add new soil and regularly feed with plant food. I'm the proud mom of a 47 year old Christmas cactus

What kind of aloe is that? It doesn't look like 'vera', maybe 'maculata'? Soooo many aloe and aloe-like plants out there.

Kind of cheating since the pretty pink things (bracts) are just pretending to be flowers. The actual bougainvillea flowers are tiny and hide inside those bracts.

:0 I used to have one!! But I was bad at taking care of it :< the instructions said to take out black pieces, so I did. But they came like everyday and there was hardly any plant left once I took them out

I grow carnivorous plants ("carnies"). To prolong their non-dormancy period, cut off any flower stalks that develop.

I have one of these in my yard, too, and also Rose of Sharon, in various colors, like in the post below this one. Each summer I have hundreds of japanese beetles devour these blooms, though. I hate to use bug dust on them, but I've had to do that in the past. Do you have probs with those beetles, too? Any suggestions? thanx
