When it comes to what made the ’90s in particular so special, many people say that it had the perfect amount of technology in our lives. You could access the internet, play video games, and use a cell phone if you wanted to. But these devices didn’t rule our lives. We weren’t expected to be connected at all times; we had the freedom to decide when we wanted to be online and when we didn’t.

There’s also no question that the media in the 1990s was top-tier. If you were a child during that decade, you had the chance to see classics like Toy Story, The Lion King, and Home Alone in theatres. If you were an adult, you could have seen Titanic, Forrest Gump, or The Matrix on a date. There are plenty of movies from this decade that are still extremely popular today, and they’ll probably never be forgotten.
Meanwhile, we all know that the music from this decade was iconic too. If you were an angsty teen, you probably couldn’t get enough of Nirvana, no matter how many times your parents yelled at you to turn the music down. And if you were into pop, you had the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey to jam out to. No matter what you were into, there was room for all genres in the ’90s.

In Brittany (France), there was a "mystery" with those Garfield phones washing up on beaches for years. I think they finally solved it: a container fell off a cargo ship and ended up stuck in a cave. It was only a little bit broken so it'd only release a phone or two depending on the tides, that's why it lasted for years. The container held a few thousands of those phones and tides are irregular.

These got banned in schools in the UK cos kids would break their teeth on them or throw them at people. Trading Standards also had a field day because most of them were made with dodgy chemicals and lead in the colouring/plastic. Most got shipped in from China to cope with demand, and product safety regulations were much more lax in China back in the 90s.

Youth unemployment was pretty high in the 90s. Lots of people who graduated from the same accounting program as me never got entry jobs because of newfangled computers reducing the time files took. They ended up in entirely different professions than they spent 4 years in uni studying for. Married at 25 and house at 30 was more common.

I feel so nostalgic looking at this. I seriously miss the 90s it makes me feel sad to think how much life has changed, i guess everyone feels like like this about the time they grew up 70s 80s etc but 90s were truly the best . Tv was good music was good the snacks everything! All of it has just gone now, i find it hard to pick something from life now to say whats good . Bring back the good ol days when life was simpler happier God i sound so old
