Breakups hurt, but it hurts even more when you have invested so much of your time and energy into someone just to end up with nothing. But just because you have history with them, doesn’t mean you need them in your future. It hurts because you had set expectations for your relationship. You made plans and talked about a future that will no longer happen, and depending on how you choose to see it that is not necessarily a bad thing.
A relationship is meant to bring out the best in you not the worst, and if all you did was stress in your relationship the breakup is actually your breakthrough. It’s hard to see it that way when you can literally feel your heart breaking, but as time passes you will hurt less and less and that’s when you will realize that the biggest blessing was breaking free from a toxic relationship.
Nobody deserves to be disrespected, specially when you invest your everything into them. You shouldn’t have to fight to be loved, and definitely shouldn’t have to fight for their time. Never run back to that, remind yourself that you are worthy of exceptional love every time you think about going back. Don’t allow your loneliness to drive you back into the arms of the person who broke you and never truly loved you. Love is as love does. He was never man enough to love the good woman in you. No matter how much he says he loves you, his actions will always continue to hurt you because what he says with his mouth is not the same thing he is saying with his actions. The first step to moving forward is accepting the fact that you’re better off without the person you thought you couldn’t live without.
You just have to say to yourself, “I’m not willing to accept anything less than what I deserve! I am smart! I am beautiful! I am a good woman, and I deserve to be happy!” It all starts with you. Do yourself a favor, walk away and don’t look back. Nobody has power over you unless you let them. If they keep bringing you heartache and pain, you’re better off alone. Cut off all ties once and for all!
