Family Pretends To Be Helping Homeless Single Mom When In Reality They Have Ulterior Motives
When raising children, family help is crucial. There’s a reason the saying “It takes a village” is used to this day: parenting, work, and just the regular stresses of daily life mean parents need all the help they can get. Yet, instead of helping, some families might hit parents where it hurts most when they’re at their lowest.
When this single mother was struggling to find housing, her mother and sister volunteered to take her daughter in. But when she got back on her feet a few weeks later, the situation got super sus: they enrolled the kid in school without her knowledge, refused to tell her where, and threatened to call CPS. As a cautionary tale about how family members sometimes work against you, she shared her story online.

People do strange things when kids are involved. Years ago my new SIL asked to take my daughter (sister of my new husband and no relation to my child and also fairly unknown to her) asked to take my daughter on an afternoon of an arcade and restaurant and I said No. That's a lot for a child of 7 who doesn't know you. Soooo my sister in law went to my ex husband whom she barely had ever met and he let her take the child. He didn't know I had said No. The child was traumatized and begged me not to let it happen again. What can I do? This woman wouldn't respect my No and she went to a stranger, my ex husband, to take the child over my firm No. I have never wanted to go to an arcade so badly I would steal a child to do it. My ex was horrified thinking I approved and no parent let my SIL alone with her after that. What gets me is these people tend not to care about the child as much as twisting the parent with character defamation. My SIL basically s decided I don't have parental rights. And who is to blame if something goes wrong? I did Not approve and yet I'm the custodial parent. That was kidnapping and I told her I should have called the police. There is something wrong with the thinking of people who use children like this.
