The nose gear collapsed on landing, with the wheels shearing off. All passengers and crew disembarked safely. Phuket airport has just the one runway, so it was closed until repairs were made. The plane was removed and the runway repaired in less than 8 hours.

I suspect it was more like the ground where they were setting up wasn't stable. The load chart / max load stuff is pretty easy really, and often computerised / max load-locked anyway. But none of those safety features help if the ground caves in under your support outriggers...

I see here there was quite a few where a vehicle was carrying some type of equipment and went to go under a under pass. They didn't make it. This reminds me of a time here in Indiana axtruck wax carrying some type of equipment with a arm unit. Thecarm was secured own enough. The arm came us up. The truck went to go under a under pass. The arm of the truck hit a beam of the under pass. Did some damage. City/state had to,shut that under pass dowm to get it fixed. The city end up charging the company of the truck to repair the under pass.
