Creepy Things I Found In A House That Once Belonged To A Doctor (33 Pics)

There have been several buildings like this featured here recently. Do the former owners have no relatives or simply none that care enough to claim the wonderful family photographs and other mementoes ?

No cobwebs, no dust? This house is cleaned on a regular basis but left cluttered and disorganized? Some of the items would possibly be of interest to a medical museum, and other things should be preserved as well. It shouldn't be left to simply ruin.

I always wonder how and why these houses get abonded

I love that this was posted under "Latest" postings. I saw this two years ago. BP seriously can't find anything new? I mean they already steal 90% of what they post off of reddit. But Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. NEW CONTENT PLEASE.

Staged. The really old medicine bottles makes no sence compard to the telephone, for example. Great pictures, but staged.

It is hilarious that this is the most controversial topic on BP; the "Did he Dust?" Caper! Get a life folx! Not only does it not matter, he isn't fabricating a darn thing. This place exists, it looks exactly like this and yes, the many photographers to capture it's current condition are either trespassing or getting legal permission. How does a house end up like this? There are houses like this all over. I'll explain. When a person passes and property in their will is contested, it goes to probate. When this happens none of the complaining parties are allowed to touch anything. Sometimes these feuds last long enough for all involved parties to also pass. This leaves an untouched house for indefinite time periods. It is confirmed, this Virginia house has been sitting in probate for about 25 years.

Would love to have the clothes

I'd have to steal a few things. The books and the wolf bodies. I can't let books be damaged and I sure as hell can't leave the poor animals like that. I'd have to put it right or I'd never sleep again.

I would love to visit and look around in this house! The huge book cases are beautiful and so is that old canopy bed!! If only those walls could talk! Thank you for showing these photos!!

I enjoy shopping thrift store and garage sales. There are so many times I see old family photos in beautiful antique frames. Once even a baby book recording events and milestones, including an envelope with locks of hair.

I've always wanted to buy a house like this. I would keep everything and stage one/two rooms with all the clothing, photos and such, and have it like a museum. This house in particular though - I would leave those medical rooms for people to come see!!

I don't get it.... women's clothing is creepy? An old person's abandoned house is creepy? I can somewhat understand that the rooms the doctor used for work can be called creepy but it's just a doctor's workplace.

I am soooo envious. I would love to be able to go through a place like this, looking at (and maybe cataloging) the contents, just so I could see how the people who lived there went about their days. All those photographs, just left there like that. Wow!

How long had the house been abandoned when these pictures were taken?

The most disturbing thing to me, were those two real wolf rugs.

I would live here I love it even the wolf carpet if you clean the place up you can make a home.

those carpets scared me at first, i didnt realize they were carpets and not living wolves at first

I would be willing to do some investigating to figure out if there are relatives of the Doctor that maybe doesn't know he left things behind. I do recognize one of the books on the shelf. The one titled "Plain Speaking" by Merle Miller. Its an Oral Biography of Harry S. Truman. I have read parts of it and it's really fascinating. It was first published in 1973 I believe. Oh I wonder if that house is haunted too. I wonder where exactly it's located.

We used to do beautiful houses in teh past. Why oh why we don't do this anymore??
