I thought London's theatre district was primarily known as the West End! According to Google it's only 'often referred to as Theatreland'. Though I'm not a Brit...
Never have I heard it called Theatreland. However, there are lots of interesting theatres in Soho ;-)
Load More Replies...General elections are not held EVERY 5 years. They can be called at any time by the party in power, or forced by a vote of no confidence. They MUST be called before the end of 5 years. The last ones were 2001, 2005 (3y11m), 2010 (5y), 2015 (5y), 2017 (2y1m), 2019 (2y6m), 2024 (4y6m).
Yes, they asked how often they're held but they meant what is the maximum time allowed.

Born in the UK and lived there for 25 years before moving overseas. Never heard of Theatreland. Is that new? Anyway, only question I got wrong. Theatreland indeed.
26 out of 30. And I was born and raised here. Never heard it called Theatreland though. Only ever known it as the West End. And the last 10 years of British politics has been an absolute cluster**** so it's a wonder anyone can keep track of how long there's supposed to be between elections!
It's always been West End for shows. And too bloody often is the right answer to the election question.

Indeed, and clearly many others agree with you. I used to work in that area for some years, so given that Soho was an option and "theatreland" not being a real thing, I clearly got that one wrong.
Load More Replies...Question 26: Suffragists. Suffragettes was a derogatory diminutive applied as an insult.
Not quite. The second term was initially derogatory but was later wholeheartedly adopted bu the more militant groups with eg. Ms Pankurst and others.
