If you’ve ever tried to “fix” some broken electronics with a set of tweezers, you are probably well aware that even our ever dexterous hands have their limits. As humans have learned more about material science and developed better machines over time, we’ve actually been able to offset our own physical limitations.
This is particularly important for fields like medicine. After all, if one is going to be putting something inside another person during surgery, it should be as fine as modern science allows. A nice side effect is that they are also more portable and, overall, use fewer resources to manufacture.

Tis a baby horned lizard and they are adorable. The thing that gets prople is if you scare them, they shoot blood from their eyes to scare you away. "the horned lizard's ability to shoot blood from its eyes is a sophisticated defense mechanism that involves the coordination of the circulatory and muscular systems. We caught these all the time when I was a kid in the desert southwest US. My brothers always got sprayed with blood but I never did, I was very gentle with them and we always let them go. They're fabulous to have around, their main food is ants.

Of course, a tiny cucumber or carrot has nothing to do with miniaturization, unless it was intentional, and a lot more to do with an issue that has plagued humans ever since we decided that chasing animals was not a great lifestyle - soil quality. In short, putting some seeds in the ground is almost never enough.

Color me all kinds of impressed! This is amazing, the details and quality are through the roof! I have a BIG soft spot for miniatures of everything. It's so tiny and sweet. I mean, just look at it! Whoever made this has amazing eyesight, stellar hand-eye coordination, and some mad skills.

Contrary to what some folks believe, growing large fruits and vegetables isn’t a sort of “fire and forget” job, the plants, trees and bushes need to be constantly maintained. This includes constant checkups, keeping the soul moist, protecting them from the elements and fertilizing them regularly. In short, some dirt and seeds are not going to be sufficient.

I did find a tiny tomato in my garden yesterday. Our growing season is long over but we have a couple guerilla tomato plants that popped up (from dropped tomatoes). I'm letting them do their thing. Yesterday I was in the backyard and saw the ~tiniest~ tomato laying in the soil under one of the plants. It's really a lil red tomato the size of a pea 😂

I think Farrow's makes most of these. Honestly, you can get a miniature TV dinner that slides out of the box, a bag of ice cubes with miniature ice cubes, a box of dog treats with a few dog biscuits inside, and a box of butter with individual bars of butter.

Looks like the ones I had last year. I have given up trying to grow anything except green onions and chives. They are the only things that actually produce anything and survive. I've had the same green onions for 2 yrs, just cut them with scissors as they grow. I bought them at the grocery store and had seen that you could put the white part in dirt and they would take root and grow.

I recently got another tattoo and it has been close to 10 years since my last one. Anyway the recent tat was painful and I had to go back to finish it, because I couldn't deal any longer. They told me about a numbing cream that I should put on 30 minutes prior to my return appointment. The cream is called Mithra, you can Google it, but I didn't feel a thing. The remainder of the tattoo only took about 45 minutes - an hour but I didn't feel anything for the entire duration. So if you really want to get a tat, I would recommend that numbing ointment.
