Please communicate that to him, especially the fact that while you're feeling a little insecure, you trust him completely (unless of course, you don't, but that's a whole other comment). Feel your feels and keep checking in with him. It'll be clear pretty quickly if he's willing to reassure you or if he gets defensive and refuses. Then you have to decide what comes next.

I feel this way sometimes when my BF and his best friend (who's a guy, but they have 20 years of friendship, while he and I aren't yet at 4 years) get talking, especially when other people that they both volunteer with at a convention get together, because they all talk about shared experiences that I have no part of and I end up getting left out
