Oftentimes the more you try to sound profound, the shallower your message becomes. The subreddit 'I'm 14 and this is Deep' is a perfect example of this.

Its moderators describe this corner of the internet as "a place to talk about stupid 'deep and meaningful' philosophy found on blogs, Tumblr, Facebook, Reddit, or anywhere else."

"[These are] insights that people should have outgrown by the time they were 14. Jaden Smith is our patron saint, along with many deep Twitter posts."

Created all the way back in April 2013, the subreddit now unites over 1.1 million members who have built quite an extensive gallery of cringe. Here are some of their most popular posts.

I love this one. I would change it to "world before I heard about your problem" and "world after I heard about your problem" and it would be perfect. (I'm IT support, not psychologist. For psychologist or something like that it would be little bit too far)

It would make slightly more sense if it had "not" in front of "I'm", I don't get why they went with "ok'nt".

Well, if you can't do comedy without offending (usually marginalized) people, then your comedy is probably sh#t.

So, this person wants to talk about the fact that s/he enjoys being tied with wired headphones while scrolling social media? Not my kind of kink, but whatever floats their boat.

I'd say both are terrible. Commenting on one's look is always bad, alright. But shaming other people because they're more "mainstream" or less "quirky" than you is as bad, if not worse. There's nothing wrong with enjoying popular things and prefering neutral/basic style. Also, comments like "why can't you be interesting" are causing people to be ashamed of their hobbies and preferences. Enjoy popular literature. Dye your hair blonde without shame. Be yourself, you're great!

So do cocaine and starch. I guess we just shouldn't trust powdery white thingies

Apparently so do cocaine and super absorbent, the stuff that absorbs the liquid in diapers and sanitary pads. My father used to work for a company that made incontinence products. One time my father's boss was flying to a conference, and had several samples of super absorbant with him. Someone stole his briefcase in the airport. If you've ever played with super absorbent, or seen a diaper in a pool, you know that the white powder turns into a 'gel' and expands when it comes into contact with liquid. So if it were to happen in an enclosed space, like, say, someone's sinus cavities... The boss was able to recover his briefcase later at the hospital. He never did get his super absorbent samples back.

“Whom” you trust? Since neither sugar nor salt are human beings, you do mean “which” you trust, right?

They actually don't look the same at all, unless you're easily fooled by color.

The one on the left is sugar. They should have used fine salt as their example.

when i was a kid, my teacher at church did an object lesson about following rules and she brought cookies and i was picked to go to the front of the class and get one, i was so excited because i rarely win anything or get chosen for stuff. when i got to the front, i took one bite and realised that she used salt instead of sugar.

This is like those old saying your grandparents said that you rolled your eyes at because they weren't literally true. But then realised later the point is not really about the items in the idiom it's about the message itself which is conveyed by a device I.e. the salt and sugar. To me whats dumb is people negging on this because it's not literally a good point. The literal point of idioms dont have to be good it's the underlying message, so critique that.
