I'd say both are terrible. Commenting on one's look is always bad, alright. But shaming other people because they're more "mainstream" or less "quirky" than you is as bad, if not worse. There's nothing wrong with enjoying popular things and prefering neutral/basic style. Also, comments like "why can't you be interesting" are causing people to be ashamed of their hobbies and preferences. Enjoy popular literature. Dye your hair blonde without shame. Be yourself, you're great!

Logos are specifically designed to be distinctive and memorable. Plants don't exactly prioritize that.

maybe that's because we no longer live in nature and have to know which plant is which in order to not eat something poisonous? ie we no longer need that knowledge? However, knowing which brand is which can affect your wallet, affordability, buying decisions, future maintenance costs, etc. So for example I recognise Apple and VW as signs of good quality. My laptop for example is 12 and still awesome. the McD logo warns you that the food is not good and will probably give you heart problems over time. Etc etc. These are relevant signs for our relevant context.

They could have used more recognizable leaves like maple, marijuana, pine, etc.

Its almost like the brands are designed to be recognized and the plants are not.

I couldn’t name all the brands but I also couldn’t name all the leaves from plants without seeing the plants they came from.

Maple, ash(?), pine or fir, oak, I forget what they’re called but they’re everywhere, same as previous.

You can't really identify most plants based solely on a leaf.
