Hi, I'm Gabriel, a photographer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Below you can see a small part of the snowy moments from the most famous places in Amsterdam - 11th Dec 2017.

The Snowy Canal
Romanticising Amsterdam: the houses have been taken over by the rich, the streets by the junks and pimps. No original "Amsterdammer" lives there anymore. The snow is not as thick as it used to be. The canals are occupied by cars and bikes... Not the Amsterdam where I used to live. Not the Amsterdam I knew. But unfortunately, that goes for every major city in the world now.
And where can they drive these cars, parked end to end with water on one side and a building on the other side??
There are small one-way-roads in between the parked cars and buildings ;)

Oh my God! Thank you so much for this comment! Just got flooded by so many great memories of watching & reading Harry Potter! <3
Load More Replies...Maybe you can make a clicker for your bike and iphone. You could set an alarm off on your bike via your phone?! Just trying to help you find your bike quickly before your toes freeze. :) :)

The White Roads
The Silent Night
Biking Under The Snow
It is so "cool" that your town bikes as opposed to drive every time they would like to go somewhere. Where I live, driving is more the option people choose. It's so much healthier for you and the environment to bike. Good job Amsterdam! :)
Here (in the netherlands) we have arround 3 bikes per person ......only being overtopped by China .....(because of the population)
Load More Replies...I dont know why, but this image reminds me of the Great Soviet Patriotic War
Biking is not healthy any more in cities like Amsterdam. The fumes and accidents are major killers of cyclists. However, it is kind to your pocket money. Parking along a canal is only for the "not so faint hearted" , and will cost you a month salary. Parking your bicycle is a hazard too. It will either be stolen by criminals or taken away by the council because there is just not enough room for the enormous amount of bicycles. Pedestrians hate the wrongly parked bicyles because they obstruct every sidewalk. It looks cool but isn't.

The Beginning...
Amsterdam is such a beautiful city! I went there once in the summer, this makes me want to go there again!
I've lived close to Amsterdam in 2014 and 2015 :-) I am now back to the south east where I was born.
Load More Replies...You mean the round thing on the building with a name on it? It's a bar. It says "Heineken" (the beer brand) on the round board. As for he black plate, I can't read it.
Oops, did not reply to you, in stead I accidentally posted just a comment on the article. So read that :-)

I love Amsterdam, beautiful city with great art. Now I have seen it in the snow I will try to book my next visit in winter, these photographs are wonderful.
Winter in the Netherlands doesn't necessarily mean snow unfortunately...
Load More Replies...So Gabriel, this all looks wonderful, and just shows us how beautiful it can get. But that was last year. What's it like this year? I mean right now? Is everyone getting just a bit tired of all this new climate change? If Londeners are having problems, as this article shows, I can imagine what you guys on the continent are going through: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5671431/uk-weather-train-flight-cancellations-snow/ . Welcome to the upcoming Grand Solar Minimum, and it hasn't even started yet. Little Ice age coming up, and its probably going to be another Maunder Minimum event. The article is about "Hey, look at the pretty photos after some snow" but you see "Let me get on my Climate Change agenda soap box!". Just enjoy the article for what it is.

Not everyone is as lucky as we. But at least this winter we got to share- it snowed on all sorts of places that don't usually see it. And now we have theae lpvely photos to view. Thank you!
Load More Replies...Thank you for sharing Amsterdam. The chances of me being able to make it there are extremely minimal. It is pictures and thoughtfulness as yours that help me appreciate it from afar. You do have an incredible talent. Maybe a good career for you?! Thanks again Gabriel :) Truly beautiful pictures... Oh and please don't forget your mittens! My hands got cold just looking at those handle bars and pictures. Big smiles!
Stunning pictures. I cherish my visits to Amsterdam, I wish I could see it in the snow. Thank you for bringing this to us.
