Colorful Portraits Celebrate The Unique Beauty Of Slavic Folklore By Combining Traditionalism With High-Fashion
Moscow-based photographer Andrey Yakovlev and art director Lili Aleeva, also known as Yakovlev and Aleeva, are a husband-wife duo that creates amazing photos. For this Easter photo series, the duo combined high-fashion with traditionalism, resulting in vivid images featuring Easter eggs and beautiful women in front of colorful backgrounds.

Slavic folklore is beautiful, but this is way over the top, not to mention that traditionally Slavic women looked more healthy than these stick-figure models. My eyes hurt from what I just saw! :/

As a Russian, I dislike the implication that Slavic=egg. However, my initial displeasure is more than offset by the beauty of the photographs. These are amazing.

The "Pasha" There was commissioned the site have described the Russian people and Orthodox traditions. In this session, we have shown through the eyes of Orthodox Easter by famous artists. Klimt, Petrov-Vodkin, Vrubel, Vasnetsov, Matisse, Warhol. Inspiration also served vintage Easter cards.

The colors are lovely as are the ladies. I love the eggs and other props, but, I don't like the prints on top of another print... too busy to fully appreciate.

Rich, lush colors and patterns surround these beautiful models making for images that bring to mind the work of painters like Klimt. I love the contrast of the pure light skin tones against the busy patterns and vivid colors...lovely work!
