A woman who made an unassuming run to Walmart for groceries found herself quitting for an employee at the retail giant’s store.

Going by the name Lilroxy on TikTok, the customer shared a video of how she waltzed into Walmart and found the soon-to-be-ex employee handing over her employee vest to her, saying she’s throwing in the towel.

“Most random experience that happened today,” Lilroxy wrote as she shared the unusual tale on TikTok.

“I am walking into Walmart looking down at my phone and went to a cart in the middle of the entry way. This beautiful lady comes to me and asks if I knew where customer service was… I pointed and she handed me her Walmart Employee vest and resigned from her position that very moment,” the woman continued.

Lilroxy went on to say that she congratulated the woman, who goes by the name June, and wished her all the best for the future.

“I hugged her, congratulated her on her future endeavors and waved her goodbye,” she added. “June, the door greeter at Walmart, if you or your family sees this. I hope you live your life to the fullest!!!”

Apart from the detail of the employee being June the door host, her identity remains a mystery.

In the video that Lilroxy shared, she was captured handing over June’s employee vest to the manager and explaining that her door host had just quit.

“I hate to inform you but June has officially quit,” Lilroxy told the manager. “She handed this to me when I walked in and got my cart and asked me to come take it to you and said, ‘she’s done.’”

When the manager asked if she personally knows June, the woman clarified that she was just one among the many customers that walk in through the doors of the store each day.

What exactly is the function of a 'door greeter' anyway?

If they're like the ones at Bunnings they greet you at the door but they also check you've got a receipt when you leave. They're also handy if you're in a hurry and don't know where to find stuff. " Hey I need..." "that's in aisle nine, down there to the left".

It's funny how dumb customers have no price point, the poor can be dumbasses just as much as the middle class and the wealthy
