If you spend your days surfing the never-ending Instagram feed, you might've already heard of a freelance illustrator called Isabelle Staub, who rocked the platform with her fresh reimaginings of classic Disney Princesses. What you might not know, though, is that this series also helped the artist to get out of a serious creative block.
“I’ve always loved Disney since I was a child, so I decided to paint the princesses in my own art style for fun,” Isabelle told DesignTaxi. And she really got into it, spending from 8 to 12 hours recreate each image. Almost the whole process is done in the Corel Painter, with only a few last touches done with Photoshop.
"I’m definitely ready to start a new series! Someone requested villains, which I think would be really cool. But I might give the whole Disney theme a rest for a while.”
Right now she's in the first stages of illustrating her own children's book, so keep refreshing her Instagram and Etsy pages for more awesome works.

collar bone doesn't go nearly close enough to the shoulder, it meets up at the shoulder with the acromion process... too steep of an angle, but agree, still doesn't look very realistic.

I am the artist who did these- I never once said I wanted these to look realistic. I just painted the princesses in my own art style for fun! It's not that serious.

If the artist him/herself said that this is realistic, they are gravely mistaken and should do more life studies. On the other hand the title of the article is quite misleading. This is a cute personal style that got boring by page 2. because it suffers from Barbie head syndrome.

Go and google up Isabelle_Staub, she is an Illustrator and has Other works besides this, different kinds as well, not all of them look liek this, this is just their rendition/fan art of the disney princesses. Someone else obviously found them all and put them all in this article the one who put this whole thing together never actually credits the person who drew the fan art, instead you have to figure it out for yourself who they are, is a name on some of the pictures, they have an instagram with their work there.

@Bored Panda: the title is misleading. The artist herself says the purpose "my own art style for fun" – these are surely "brushed up" but if you would transform them into anatomical graphics they would show very disfigured humans with very unnatural proportions. That is fine, for realism obviously was _not_ the aim.

I would say "more detailed" instead of "realistic". Fantastic work- especially on Tiana's eyebrows. That was about the most realistic part I saw.

Guys this is amazing art. When they say "more realistic" they mean straying from the 2D original style of Disney. They don't exactly mean more exact to life (I know that's the definition of realistic but words are always butchered nowadays) So many people have mentioned it so instead of trying to seem intelligent, just appreciate the beautiful artwork. if she wanted to draw the characters in her style, that's cool. if her style is all that's shown that's ok. But if she was going to "copy" the original artwork she left out some details, like teeth, and dimples.

Even that I don't agree with lol. Over de top makeup, fake tan and surgery I associate with Jersey shore like people which for me at least is really trashy and a major turn off. It also makes them look like the simple stereotype of a miss universe who knows nothing about anything apart from maybe her make up brand lol.

F*****g hell!!! Everybody asking "whys" why the lips why coverd in oil why they dont look realistic.... first of all its a recriation by the autor's style and a way to unblock inspiration, not photos of living person with princess face. Second the girls are way more cute with volume. So cut the bull s**t enjoy the work and if you still looking for living person style i advise Angelina jolie or emma watson photos;)

People are born curious and thus want to ask questions and give opinions on the matter. Same as you just did by saying girls are cute with volume. That is your opinion not a fact. I love all the remakes except Jasmine. I think the original is way prettier <3 Also I have an issue with their lips!! -.- I HATE this trend with Duck-face-lips... It literally looks like they sucked 200 d***s in one night... If girls who wear make up want to find a real boyfriend and not a f**k-boy I would suggest you not to do that! Everyone got to it before me, but I'd like to throw my hat in with everyone saying they don't look realistic. The re-draws have strangely large lips, and everyone is really made-up and (for some reason) shiny. Can the artist show-off her re-draws? Sure, but don't call them "realistic" because that's just outright untrue.

F*****g hell!!! Everybody asking "whys" why the lips why coverd in oil why they dont look realistic.... first of all its a recriation by the autor's style and a way to unblock inspiration, not photos of living person with princess face. Second the girls are way more cute with volume. So cut the bull s**t enjoy the work and if you still looking for living person style i advise Angelina jolie or emma watson photos;)

F*****g hell. You can't take feedback can you? lol If you are afraid of feedback you should move to another planet and just not talk to people. People are born curious and thus want to ask questions and give opinions on the matter. Same as you just did by saying girls are cute with volume. That is your opinion not a fact. You should accept other peoples opinions like we should do yours even if you don't agree with it. Otherwise you should go live on a planet on your own.

I love all the remakes except Jasmine. I think the original is way prettier <3 Also I have an issue with their lips!! -.- I HATE this trend with Duck-face-lips... It literally looks like they sucked 200 d***s in one night... If girls who wear make up want to find a real boyfriend and not a f**k-boy I would suggest you not to do that! Also there is nothing wrong with small lips! or when the upper lip is smaller than the bottom! It's even cuter that way!

She made it more realistic by adding the shine on the hair and body and face and made it look like some women today she made it 3d but that was to add on to the realistic look

Realistic, maybe not ... however, I did like this artist's style of drawing ... I'm pretty sure if they were drawn as anime, there would be characteristics that would feel too nuanced regardless ... different styles of anything must not be everybody's thing ...

Yeah, I gotta admit all the original Disney shots express different emotions (pride, curiosityr, amusement, determination, etc), but all the reinterpretations are basically "come hither" looks!

Everyone got to it before me, but I'd like to throw my hat in with everyone saying they don't look realistic. The re-draws have strangely large lips, and everyone is really made-up and (for some reason) shiny. Can the artist show-off her re-draws? Sure, but don't call them "realistic" because that's just outright untrue.

They have just been made sluttier. They have now all had plastic surgery, lip fillers, more make up and a seriously seductive and brainless look in their eyes replacing the previously thoughtful, strong and human one.
