Having a job can be a blessing and a curse. Sure, you get paid, but you also need to sit in long meetings with annoying managers, fill out HR’s surveys, and squeeze into deadlines that are impossible to deliver without sacrificing your personal evenings. It gets exhausting.
So to survive another day, people are letting each other know they’re not alone in dealing with the daily corporate struggles. The Facebook group ‘Work Memes’ is full of relatable content that turns frustration into jokes we can all laugh at. Until it’s time to do something about it.

Worse. By the time I retired, I was teaching with people who used to be my students.
According to a recent report from Insightful, workplace stress is on the rise, becoming a constant for the vast majority of modern employees.
An overwhelming 90% of employees report feeling stressed on the job, with both desk-based and remote workers facing the same pressures.
And the problem is so severe that 44% of employees are actively considering leaving their jobs in the near future due to stress.
Insightful’s data reveals that the most pressing sources of workplace stress are:
- workload (54%);
- deadlines (40%);
- unrealistic expectations (35%);
- lack of time (34%);
- direct superiors (28%).
Friend in college worked as a cashier at a grocery store. The job would have been perfect for her except for all the people. She had a classic resting b***h face so was constantly being told to “smile!” Left that job to become an aide at the State School working the night shift.MUCH better fit.
Adding fuel to the fire, a third (32%) of employees report they’re also contacted after hours by managers.
The inability to disconnect makes workers feel the need to remain responsive during their personal time. As a result, 58% of them now feel anxious when opening their inboxes, turning a tool of convenience into a daily source of tension.
Plus, 90% of employees say they get a sense of dread on Sundays because of the coming workweek.
Did that once. Discovered I don’t like being the boss. It stresses me out and cleaning up somebody else’s mistakes drives me nuts. I’m happiest when if sh*t goes sideways, it’s not my problem
Workplace stress is taking a significant toll on employees’ well-being:
80% of them report that stress negatively impacts either their productivity, quality of work, or both.
71% have missed at least one day of work in the past month.
Additionally, an overwhelming majority (82%) report that stress is disrupting their sleep, while seven in ten (71%) have even woken in the middle of the night thinking about work.
Employees are turning to a range of coping mechanisms to manage the mounting pressures at work:
- 57% use exercise as their go-to method for stress relief;
- 45% are incorporating meditation into their routines;
- 31% are seeking professional therapy to manage the emotional toll.
However, there’s only so much people can do for themselves. Employers should do their part too, and not just out of altruism.
According to a 2025 study in The American Journal of Preventive Medicine, burnout costs U.S. companies between $4,000 and $21,000 per employee each year — or up to $5 million annually for an average U.S. company with 1,000 employees.
In my case, not 15 extra minutes of sleep, but 1 YouTube cat short that becomes 15 minutes perhaps after claiming “One more,” to myself.
I'm always saying “idiot” under my breath. Regarding customers. Not coworkers. So far.
As Kent and I lobbed snarky comments across the office....glorious!
This is the problem we mentioned last month that you choose to ignore
If I had done that in my last job, I wouldn't have run out until the thunderous applause had at least died down a little.
Worked forty hours a week. My commute was thirty hours a week. Boy, do I understand this one.
Is there some time of bank or reward for when our temper is held in vs releasing? I'll take a hug or a lollipop.
Truth. I hate it when after the moment I think of something better to say as I'm repeating such incidents in my head.
Do they realize those memes are what keep a lot of people from rage-quiting?
"You're such a suck-up"..."Maybe, but my day flies by" (staying busy)
