Since I was a kid, I was crafty, curious, and always very attracted to Nature and gardening. When I was 14, I had a big organic garden and during my high school days, I had an opportunity to learn about the deep mulching method, which I still use 15 years after. The garden was my safe place, my own world in which I grew daily. If honest, I was (deliberately) bad in school as I didn`t like it, but at the same time, I was learning about gardening and entomology. I had a dream that I will build a small cabin on the plot of land and live there, not to withdrawn myself from society, but to dose it when needed. The dream included a fireplace, a personal library, 2 goats, and 2 dogs.

The dream quickly fell apart, I lost the land and was exiled from it. Then I moved to the city and then from the country and had to adapt to a new way of life. Learning about Nature taught me that change is the only constant and that we humans are just like viruses- very adaptable.

Fifteen years later, here I am, living my dream in the capital city. I grew up, elevated myself, and have learned that we humans are what we carry within, not what type of house we have. Even though I live in the city, my car is always full of manure, wood pieces, chain saws, tools, hay, and my hands are rough, full of cuts and splinters. But my soul is happy.

A few years back, I have started WoodLives, a one-man business that uses reclaimed wood to create indoor and outdoor items. Soon I came to an idea to materialize all the emotions gathered on my walks and create these artistic birdhouses. To create another miniature world that helps and supports wildlife.

Almost all materials that I use are reclaimed and each house is unique. When creating one, I take my time, so when people ask me how much it takes to build one house, I honestly don`t know, as when I am working with wood, the time stops for me. My small arty workshop is located in my garage, and over time I have collected all the tools to create these demanding shapes.

There is nothing more rewarding than to receive the message from my clients saying that the birds are nesting inside and developing a new wild family.
