Rating dogs—our loyal, fluffy companions—on a scale from 1 to 10 might sound absurd. After all, it’s obvious that such a small scale could never capture their true adorableness.
And let’s be honest, they don’t deserve anything less than a perfect score under any circumstances. Yes, even if they chewed your favorite shoes, that one’s on you for leaving them out.
Thankfully, We Rate Dogs, everyone’s favorite page on X, knows exactly how to handle that “assignment.” Their clever ratings and witty captions are just what these goodest boys and girls (and all of us) needed.

"Annie, are you okay? So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie? Annie, are you okay? So, Annie, are you okay? Are you okay, Annie?" What a SMOOTH Criminal !
I would love to be hit by her while romping through leaves.

My father played the trombone in an orchestra, I can attest that it's really, REALLY loud.
One of the guys with whom I was friends played the trombone in high school. Badly to mediocrely at best. (I'm sorry, if you're reading this, J. I love you.) If there's something worse than the trombone; it's a meh trombone player.

Most days, social media can feel like too much. One moment, there’s drama. A few scrolls later—bots, misinformation, and people arguing about everything. Finding a bit of light in all that noise isn’t always easy.
That’s why pages like We Rate Dogs feel like a breath of fresh air. There’s something genuinely heartwarming about a puppy chasing its tail or a senior dog proudly grabbing a treat. Probably nothing beats that.
And the page agrees, their ratings for these good boys and girls are always spot on. Though honestly, 100/10 would be more accurate.
Our dog will give you his paw when you ask, but he also has a different paw move when he wants something. Keep petting me, get out my chair, etc…
The idea behind it is as simple as it is brilliant. Founded in 2015 by Matt Nelson, then a college student, it began as a fun project that quickly took off.
“I started it as a Twitter account because I was already having so much fun creating on that platform, and all signs pointed to dog content being loved by so many,” Nelson told PR Daily. “I was, and still am, obsessed with dogs so it was the perfect combo of a passion project that could entertain more than just myself.”
It is very sad to see several commentators on this site falling apart over something as sweet and innocent as this.
Corgis always look adorable. As we can attest to having adopted our first Corgi, Gabby.
Ok, nobody wondering why the dog is obviously 'shopped? Still cute, though.
y'all, what kinda dog is this? it's the same kinda cute dog that's in one of those dog food commercials, right? i went to petsmart one day years ago and there was a black one like this in there. sweatergawd, y'all, it took everything in me not to grab that baby and make a run for it. idk what it is about their faces, but they are so cute to me that i literally have an almost painful physical reaction to them. they almost make me feeling like crying. i have never understood why, but i have always reacted like that to this particular dog breed.
People immediately got on board. Users sent in their dog photos, Nelson rated them (always above 10/10, of course), and paired them with witty captions that melted even the most cynical of hearts. Within months, We Rate Dogs became viral.
Today, the account has grown into a full-fledged brand with millions of followers across X, Instagram, TikTok, and more. “I think we’re up to 23 million followers across all the platforms,” Nelson told CBS News. What began as a hobby is now a proper business, and a wholesome one at that.
Same! Our gummies kicked in and I had to then explain it to my husband😂🤣😂.

I agree. Frank, share some of your happiness with us! You look like you can spare some 😆
Load More Replies...In 2017, Nelson made the bold decision to drop out of college, where he was studying professional golf management, to focus fully on We Rate Dogs.
“Once I realized that I had this passion for it and I was having so much fun, nothing I was doing in school was assisting me with that,” he told The Washington Post.
I've always wanted to hug a red panda, but they tell me they don't like being hugged. Can I hug your dog? Maybe then I can die happy.
Even when they try to attack by standing up and raising their paws in an intimidating way, as if to say, "Fear me!", you just want to hug them. AAAAW 🥰

At first, Nelson managed everything himself, going through thousands of daily submissions. “In the beginning, it was staggering,” he revealed. “It was probably close to 5,000 to 6,000 submissions a day.”
Choosing which dogs to feature felt nearly impossible. “Every dog is the best and every dog is the cutest,” Nelson said, and we couldn’t agree more.
That is one of the sweetest expressions I've ever seen. 😍 those eyes! Be still my heart!
Hooo that cute old stuff. Love its smile, his face are meltinggg
Interestingly, that type of coat coloring is frequently senn in African wild (Painted) dogs.
Couldn't decide on a yellow or a black Lab. Yellow? Black? Yellow? Black? Problem solved.
Perfect name for the little guy, who kinda resembles Gizmo from The Gremlins.
With that little pout the little guy is blackmailing you into responding.
Yes, he looks like a gremlin, or a little ewok. I'm smiling imagining how very tiny the treatos would have to be!😊
Eventually, he built a team to help, and together they turned the wholesome project into something even bigger. Beyond spreading joy online, We Rate Dogs now uses its massive platform for good. The team launched the nonprofit 15/10 Foundation, which raises money for dogs with medical or behavioral challenges that make adoption difficult.
“We realized that we had actual influence,” Nelson explained. “As soon as that became apparent, we started pointing our audience in the direction of those who needed help.”
WOW!!! what a smart Hooman....figured out the pup needed keys too !! So clever....and now everyone is happy...even me!!
Lou gets to carry keys if I want him to keep the nose off the ground. I have a mini prey dummy on them for that purpose
One of those cases was Gordough, a dog abandoned outside a Texas shelter with infections and an untreated thyroid condition.
“That was the main thing we were waiting on, can we financially handle rescuing a dog that could have problems always?” his adopter, Alec Azar, told CBS News. The 15/10 Foundation covered Gordough’s medical costs, giving him a chance at a better life.
Not true. Arang is giving "Draw me like one of your French Poodles"
From the flower around his head, I think Arang just had a visit to the vet.
I would politely elbow you out of the way to get there first, excuse me and pardon me.
Load More Replies...Sarah Hammel from the Austin Humane Society, who remembers Gordough well, said the foundation’s support has made a lasting difference. “Now, we are seeking out dogs that might need extra medical care because we have that safety net,” she explained. “15 out of 10 will help us.”
It’s hard not to smile at the full circle of it all—a page that started by celebrating dogs online is now changing their lives offline too. We Rate Dogs remains one of the internet’s most wholesome spaces, reminding us daily that kindness and dogs really do make everything better.
Mii doesn't seem to need to use her Get out of jail free card, she has utilized a different method.

ok....that made me burst out LOL!!! that look.....clearly says...."FAFO" !!!
Sorry, Steve. We love you too much to let you skip your shots. Take them like a good boi and there will be steak. EDIT: Just wanted to say I got us some of Arby's new Steak Nuggets today, and included a 5-piece order for our dog. He thinks they rank right up there with pizza crusts!
OK!! was someone high when they picked the name "cow " for this precious little darling???
And she will always look extra surprised or shocked. Whichever works for the occasion.
I think this is too cute that they got their friends to take the pup out for a special treat. I also celebrate my cat on her birthday/adoptaversary, but if I wasn't able to celebrate with my fur baby on one of those days, I would probably just wait until I got back. My cat doesn't know the date, luckily.
Are you SURE your cat doesn't know the date and is holding off on revenge until a better time?

Give it a week or two and he'll either have learned not to try and squeeze through the gate or he will be too big to even attempt this any longer.
We had a cavalier king Charles spaniel puppy who could squeeze through the tiniest gaps - he had a puppy pen in the lounge for overnight, with his water bowl, basket, toys etc... we found him one morning sitting on the outside of his puppy pen, staring forlornly at his basket. He'd squeezed out but couldn't remember how to get back in to get to his bed. Same puppy could escape through garden fences too - they all had to be double fenced after we got him.
Chicco (<1 yo male cocker spaniel rescue) immediately set about finding every weak spot and potential escape route in the fence . I live near a busy county road. After the third day I gave up patching the exits. I called someone in and double-fenced the whole perimeter.

What kind of dog is she? She looks kind of like a poodle. That little fluff at the end of her tail is adorable.
Thunder shirts are a God send....my Doodle has to wear one every Thursday, garbage day. He terrified of the garbage trucks!
Undershirt? That’s new to me, what is that? Do they have same for humans? I need one XD
And he doesn't have to worry about Marley's anxiety. ✨SO precious.
That almost hairless dog that has Doberman Pinscher DNA, who was in a BP article earlier this week could definitely fund the local orthodontist for quite some time. I literally was wondering, if the dog was able to get braces, how much it would adjust Nina, the rescued pup from Puerto Rico's smile.
I immediately thought of Nina when I saw this too.

Omg are these tiny frames? Where are they from, so cute as well as mister Winston of course
Thundershirts did not work for my sweet boy. Calm treats and prescription medications have also not helped. He hides in the bathtub. Anyone have any ideas??
play loud firework videos with bass regulary while feeding. we start every autumn and don't have any issues now
Load More Replies...When our dogs were 2 we trained them not to be gun shy by taking them to the forest and saying "Boom Boom" before taking a shot. They quickly got over the noise because they knew we were doing it on purpose and they kept wanting to chase the bullets (they could see them apparently, but we kept making them sit next to us before shooting again), and that allowed us to use the "boom boom" for every firework since then.
Max wasn't too upset this Bonfire Night but then none were in neighbouring gardens. Still got the weekend to go! He's 11 and everything I have tried has been a fail. Put the thundershirt on Ebay.
Check Chewy. My girl doesn't give a dam, there's a "club" with a tennis bubble across the street from my building, she doesn't react at all.
Load More Replies...I'm so glad they were able to find something that helps dogs deal with loud sounds that are out of their control, especially fireworks. It's great that it's able to calm them, when their environment is surrounded by loud, scary noises.
Try building him a pillow 'fort', like for kids... works for my scaredy cat doggo
This saves my Doodle during the 4th of July and trash days!!
It cute and he is so smart, but! Humans should keep their pets safe and not letting them walk like that alone, there are cars outside, he could be ran over
And not a big boy. Mini tennis balls I'm guessing? No matter, we love Kevin!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the puppers!!! BUT AGAIN---Good thing I Love dogs---CAUSE YOU CANNOT COUNT!!! NOT 50 pictures!! 80!! Glad I had the time to stay and look at them all.
Oh yeah. My Lab can take down a whole McD's regular cheeseburger in 3 chews and a wallow. It's actually impressive.
