Meet Leela, The Weirdest Pit Bull In The World Who Acts So Strangely Even Vets Can’t Explain It
Meet Leela the pit bull, an adorable pup with a few quirks that we think make her even more adorable.
Jokingly expressing doubts about the functioning of her brain, Leela’s owner, Imgur user xsoup4you presents her precious pooch in a series of cute pics that fully illustrate her eccentric nature. From some of the less-than-normal ways she chooses to arrange herself, it looks like Leela has been taking some yoga classes!
Unfortunately pit bulls often get a bad reputation, perhaps from their history as fighting dogs and perceived aggression. There is a ton of controversy about this however, as controlled studies do not show pit bulls to be disproportionately dangerous when compared to other dog breeds, and pit bull owners really do love them to bits. Like any other dog, pit bulls behave according to the way they are treated and raised, so with lots of love and care, there is certainly no reason to fear them. A pit bull really can be the most loving, loyal, friendly and dedicated dog you can have!
Leela certainly seems to be a sweet one, and damn cool too while she’s at it. Scroll down below to check out her pics for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!
“She frequently sits like this like it’s normal”

“She HATES the cold and having her ears cold. Babushka-ing her is what makes her walk”
“So warm and happy”

“We went camping for the first time last summer. She didn’t understand mesh at all. Learned she can eat poop from wild animals just fine, but god help you if she doesn’t get her $60 grain-free fancy-ass dog food. In lamb, specifically. Then you’ll understand the term “sh*t creek” on a whole different level”

“Showing off her 60 lbs of muscle. None of her legs are bowed and the vet says she’s perfect, so don’t be mean to her telling her she’s deformed just because she likes to sit like a weirdo. She’s just a practitioner of dog yoga”

“I was being a f**king idiot trying to get a photo of her and she let me know it. Also, someone clipped her right ear, poorly, before she was adopted so now she has periscope ear and a distrust of Mexicans”

Share on FacebookClipped ears might explain why she likes having her head bundled up. And hard-coated dogs in general can't tolerate the cold as well, because they don't have as much fur to insulate them. She's a sweet girl, and her quirks are adorable!
exactly... my Keanu looks similar (he might be half pitty though)... and does some of those weird things too. 80pounds of joy.
Load More Replies...There is absolutely nothing weird about this. Seems like perfectly normal doggo behavior to me.* *My doggo can't sleep without first licking someone's legs for about 20 minutes.
I own Pitbulls and it's very common for them to do the froggy stretch (as i call it) and to sleep like that. I think you dog is actually stretching though, cause it's common to sleep on their backs with their legs straight up but they head looks like she's stretching. They do get very cold, they literally have no fur on their tummys so I always stop and talk to owners that are walking their Pitbulls without coats in the Winter here (it's snowy cold here). Pitbulls and Staffies have a ton of personality and throw shade so well. I love the breed and I'm so happy to see someone showing their quirky side. Thank you!!
A distrust for Mexican?!? Did you really have to add that? All Mexicans?!?! Just making a point. Otherwise, she's so adorable and beautiful
It seems over the top but dogs (and cats and horses for that matter) do assiociate pain or happiness with certain types of people based on past experiences. I've known animals who have been abused in the past to be afraid of men, woman, people in hats, people with red hair, people with pale skin, ect. simply because that was the physical appearance of whoever had hurt them in the past.
Load More Replies...As I saw these pictures and read along, 2 things jumped out at me. First, Leela is a dog of supreme being. She has talents no other dog has. In Leela's supreme-being sense, she chose the best person ever. I have never bought into "owner." Second, this person has a gift. A gift to see beauty and uniqueness as a quality and not an obscurity. A think both, Leela and her human friend, are top-notch!! :
She is a Daschund in a Pitty Costume! My mini Doxie scared the snot out of me the first time I saw him pull himself across the floor with his back legs limp behind him. Turns out he had just woke up and couldn't be bothered to get up and walk on all fours! He was 8 when I had adopted him and had had major back surgery once. And sleepibg under the covers, sleeping on his back with legs going everywhere, and I don't Even try to move him if I get too hot, its a battle I can't win.
Aw she is too cute. I wish people understood that pit bulls are just big softies.
Classic goofy guard dog behavior. Anyone who's owned a boxer can also relate to this. Sleeping on their backs. Manspreading on the couch.
The original post from xsoup4you doesn't mention anything about a mistrust for Mexicans. Whoever added this clearly had an agenda.
Distrust for mexicans? What is the point on making that comment? I´m sure Leela is not racist, and doesn´t even cares for the nationality of people she meets. Perhaps you are the one who distrusts mexicans, then that is YOUR problem, and there´s no need to make that remark in these beautiful pictures
The original post doesn't mention it. It was added later on. Clearly some ignorant minds were at work here.

Ikr? Also as if a dog knows the difference between for example an Argentinian and a Mexican.. What an ignorant post. Shame on Monika Brazaitytė.
Load More Replies...Pitties (& related types) do inspire more than their share of adverse opinions about the breed, but although we are life-long Siberian owners, I completely agree that all dogs are a reflection of their human counterparts. Given the rather wide range of brain vapidness that varies from person to person, I've long been of the opinion that certain things people do should require exams and resulting certification. Chief among them: having children, getting married, driving automobiles and keeping animals (of any kind, but particularly domestic breeds of dogs & cats). This is a 'Nala approved' statement. Load More Replies...She is adorable! Pitties are the best. If she is eating poop, she could be missing some nutrients in her food. My dogs are thriving on the raw food diet. Very nutritious. Just a thought . . .
A Mexican person clipped her ear so she is afraid of them. Cautious around them.

She is a beautiful and very much-loved pet, that's all you need to say.
And yes Lea Cordle is correct, your dog is a Staffie. Same thing really, just blockie heads and usually shorter and stouter.
I've got pair sisters,, 1 sets sideways and 1 sets normal,,but they both love sleeping upside down, kno cpl ppl with pits and there's also sleep upside down,, but noise have a cat my wife found some1 rolled outta there truck and he sleeps with them to the poi t that he sleeps upside down,,,it's funny seeing all of em sleeping upside down,,,lol
SHE IS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU AS HER "OWNER"! IT'S JUST SAD THAT SOMEONE WOULD HURT HER LIKE THAT, HER EAR!
Very cute. I've heard that a couple of other breeds actually bite people more often that pitbulls do. Our first dog was a pit mix and what a sweetie he was. He actually would greet people at the door by extending a paw for a handshake.
Cutest dog ever!!! You must surely be enjoying each and everyday with her. I know she will have a long and happy life.
She is ADORKABLE! There are so many cute pics of her, I can't even begin to pick just one for my favorite. Thanks for sharing this cutie patootie with the rest of us. She gave me a great laugh and made me smile! 😃🐶❤️
Sweetest dog and yes pit bulls are very misunderstood. No dog is born mean. They are born to know only survival. But since pittys are easily trained they are trained to be killer pit bulls. At a local no kill shelter I sat in the cage with a Pit Bull who had cage rage. When you walked by she'd attack the cage and a person would think she wan't to attack you. She went to obedience training and graduated top of her class. So I sat in her cage so she wouldn't attack the cage when someone would look at her. They would see an adorable pit bull with her sweet head setting on my legs and those eyes looking back at them. When you got her out into the yard she'd run all over and jump up on the bench you were sitting on and just lean into you with all she had a give your cheek a big sappy kiss. Yes pit bulls are born mean. Right!!!!!
Shes a lovable normal dog..my pet a shitzu also sleep with his feet up in the air and cant sleep until he is beside me and likes me too scratching his back ...
She is so adorable, wonder what trauma she endured. A kitten I adopted was also from a bad situation and not recovered from all. She is always cold especially her ears, she must be covered head to tail, I smother her with love
Can I have her . I just love funny dogs. Just kidding. Love her as long as you are together because mine has cross over the bridge as I miss him so much. ❤❤
My dog (pictured) sleeps with her legs stiff like that sometimes--but usually while on her side--so silly--she cracks me up every time!
She is lovely! My dogs do weid things like her, too; and is really funny.
It's awesome - all the quirks make her who she is and she is unique! I'm so glad she is so loved.
She is absolutely gorgeous!! Her quirks are what make her uniquely beautiful. My dog also loves to be tucked in her blankie.
Maybe her owner wanted to show her dog to the world and it's not your business what the owner wants!
