The internet is full of beautiful and amazing photographs, but do you ever stop and wonder just what went into that perfect shot? I'm not just talking about the photo editing side of the process, although there's certainly plenty of that involved behind the scenes. No, I'm talking about the hard physical work combined with the often super-creative approaches that photographers employ to ensure that their final shot is the very best depiction of their photoshoot ideas.
Take a look at these behind the scenes pictures to see what we mean. Compiled by Bored Panda, they're sure to give the budding photographer some fresh photography ideas while providing the rest of us an enlightening glimpse into the reality of hard work, photo manipulation and Photoshop ideas that hides behind many a perfect picture.

M&m’s In Water Drops
why are they arranged in colors in picture not in bowl ! Its PHOTOSHOP
totally different pics..the color was arrange like the rainbow on top..not like the bottom pic where its scattered
How come the m&ms in the photo are sorted by colour and the ones on the explanation are not?
The bottom is not the actual set up. Just an example
Load More Replies...Strange how in the final shot the M&Ms are lined up by color. However they're all mixed up in the bowl.
The bottom is not the actual set up. Just an example
Load More Replies...Not the real picture... the M&M in the water droplets are color sequence like the rainbow... The M&Ms in the bowl in the second picture are all mixed up
The bottom is not the actual set up. Just an example
Load More Replies...Candy on the first photo is sorted by color, on the second picture it is a mess. Also the water drops are not the same.. I would like to see real photo taken on the second one
why the 1st photo has a very organized set of colors of M&Ms when the 2nd photo has a messy M&Ms arrangement, what happened to the reflection?
Not the same take. Did they go from mnms bowl to lining up skilttles?
the pics don't match up ... the m&ms in top pic were in a rainbow, and the m&ms in bottom pic are mixed up
I'm missing something. The droplets in the top photo show the M&Ms organized by colour but the bowl is scattered. Is the bottom photo just showing the technique?
Amazing how the all look by colors in the photo... Then you look at the behind the scene... All mixed up. The magic of photography :P
Yep it's photoshop..... because the M&M are arranged in colors unlike thee ones in the bowl its not, but still where's the lego!! 0w0
This Is not true, the picture shows de m&m's in lines and the plate has all mixed
I think those are SKITTLES in the top photo. And while they don't match up exactly, they are showing how the photo on to was done.
Don't believe this one at all... the m&md are mixed up in the bowl, how can they be side by side in color??
Not serious. The m&ms in the bowl aren't sorted as the ones above are.
I don't believe that this is actually how the first picture was shot: the water drops are much too regular and the M&Ms are sorted by colour
There's something weird about this one, which makes me doubt the validity of the others. In the closeup shot, the "m&ms" are arranged in rows, by color. In the shot that shows the setup for this shot, the m&ms are all mixed up. No organized color by row. So, what gives?
Not possible, the m&ms inthe droplets are arranged in lines, those in the bowl are all mixed up
Nope m&ms in tge bowl are not organized by color like in image. Try again.
M&M's in the upper photo are arranged in color order. In lower one they're random
Not the same. The candies are arranged in a rainbow pattern in the original and are most likely skittles since there are no purple M&Ms
how come that the m&m's on the droplets are arranged by its color even though on the plate it isn't?
That is not the same bowl of M&Ms. Notice how the ones in the top picture are all lined up in rows according to color. The ones in the bottom picture are all mixed together.
Looks fake. The original M&Ms was not in color sequence. It's all mixed up.
Love this ,I mean the mind is much greater than some can ever imagine
How many people who commented here DO NOT UNDERSTAND the photographer probably experimented with several different arrangements and perhaps even different objects before the top pic came about. The bottom pic is just an example of how it was done. Geez
All you smartasses, you got that, it is not the same picture. But the SAME SET that is the point, don't you get it ???
I have done some waterdrop photography - the 2 pics is not taken from the same bowl of M&M's, but if you take a photo on the second one, it will look like on the first, except the sorting.
There's no way that's the same picture... There are too many differences. Not saying that wasn't how it was done but it's not the same.
The candy is clearly sorted by color in the first picture but not in the second.
Same idea as how the shot could have been taken, but obviously not the actual shot that resulted from that photograph. Notice how the shot has no brown in the droplets: they are skittles not M&Ms. And how the candies are arranged in a pattern inside the droplets but in the "behind the scenes" picture the candies are random in the bowl. -_- If people are going to make things like this, they should be accurate.
That's amazing! The water droplets caused all the M&Ms to line up by color!
The m&ms in the bowl are mixed up, but the ones in the top photos are arranged neatly. I'm guessing same technique, different times? Still very awesome.
i'm going to say the top is actually just digital art and the bottom is made to look like what they did.

Maybe it's just me but there are very little true 'behind the scenes' photo's and some that just,.. takes a lot of time capturing. Like the Romantic couple, how else would that photo have been taken?
I had the same though ... same could be said about the dog trying to catch a ball underwater

So what do all of you naysayers think movies are? Especially the ones with all of those special effects? I think this photography is fantastic and takes a heckuva lot of creativity!!!
Well, photography implies realism, and has been used as a tool to document reality, at least before advanced editing was invented. Much more so than fictional films and paintings, which utilize imagination

Well the title is slightly misleading. It implies deception on a large scale which isn't so. Camera is not a magical, truth seeing device. It's a tool, just like a pen. It shows what the creator wanted us to see. Nothing less, nothing more.
No. 7 it's incorrect. The way the M&M's appear on the drops are by colors, red, yellow, green, blue, etc. but on the "real picture" the M&M's are all mixed up.
When I do photography like that, I would be checking how it looks first before I go and organize the M&M's
Load More Replies...I don't like being lied to, I understand a creative photo like the diving photos, but candy floss for clouds etc just don't ok!!!
Totally agree! Those photos left me with a bad taste in my mouth...
Load More Replies...I like to see how some of the more recognizable photos were captured. A *ton* of Photoshop had to go into some of these, but the end result is great!
Some of these aren't that bad like the wedding ones aren't fake they just took a lot of time
I'm an amateur photographer and I would never do that I like to take real photos
A lot of these are still "real" photos and others are photos that are combined with photo-manipulation.
