President Donald is one of the most famous Twitter climate change deniers - and despite being publicly shut down by science - him and his fellow deniers don't seem to be going anywhere. Yes, even with the Midwestern U.S facing extreme temperature lows from a polar vortex, people out they still don't seem convinced that this extreme weather has any scientific rhyme or reason.
The polar vortex is a band of strong winds, high up in the atmosphere that keeps bitterly cold air locked around the Arctic region. And people in the Midwest have been forced to stay indoors due to the freezing temperatures. Well, you can't always change people's minds on the internet, but that didn't stop the following people from serving up these chilly clapbacks to climate change deniers. @Marco, what do you mean? The US spends lots of money on climate change. Because weather and fire disasters are more frequent and worse on average, we're spending more and more taxpayer money on cleaning up after the mess that climate change is causing. The fossil fuel investors make money off our tax dollars this way.

How stupid can you bee? In a properly insulated house with 3-layer glassing you even can experience the effect yourself. Foggy weather, low temperatures --> heat a lot, clear whether, very low temperatures --> almost no heating necessary during the day.

Define "Properly insulated" . Because in every municipality across the country, they have their own requirements for insulation. 3 Layer glass panels are very expensive. I do quite well for myself but I dont even have that. I am right off Lake Erie in Ohio and we absolutely needed heating.

This is my favorite thus far. Shouldn’t one who believes in any higher power respect that creator’s result? Just because it is, from a religious standpoint, here for us to use, doesn’t mean we get to destroy it. How will we continue if we do? How will anything continue? Two of the worst offending businesses that contribute to global warming is oil/gasoline producers and coal production. With the rise in use of electric cars and the reliance on coal decreasing..we are making moves in the right direction. But the worst offender in pollution is China. Not surprising since it seems the majority of products that are available in this world come from China.

China is not the worst polluter overall. .Since 1850, the USA has produced more greenhouse emissions than any other nation, the EU collectively second, Russia third and China 4th. i.e. fuelling industrialisation and development. > By rights, on a per capita basis, all humans being equal, China having 1/4 of the world's population should be considered responsible if it produces less than 1/4 of the world's emissions. In fact they do, they are 1:1, producing 24% of world's emissions while pulling their nation out of poverty in under 60 years and at the same time leading in renewables. The USA puts out greenhouse emissions at 3 x China's rate 'per capita' and a bit more than that for global per capita average. USA has 4.27% of world's population but puts out 14.5% of global emissions.

Overgrazing, erosion, pollution of waterways, vectoring zoonotic pathogens, the wastefulness of raising grain crops to feed livestock, etc. I like meat as much as the next person, but we need to pull back a little bit.

I can't use solar panels. We tried small panels to power a couple things for our animals. But Not only does the snow we accumulate in the winter prevent the panels from working their best but for part of the year we only get a couple hours of daylight. And that's only if it's clear skies.. we need another option in the north

Geez people, we truly try to be better in a sometimes very cold and dark place and people just give you s**t no matter what. The fuel we go through heating our home & animals and getting around in winter is disgusting but solar didn't work for us. My point was that some places need another option. But whatever I guess

I'd like to address 5 and 6. #5..you need to take a trip to Alaska and Washington State to see how acid rain is stripping evergreen trees of new growth and killing old growth forests. Trees normally can handle slight changes in pH levels...but acidic rain has extremely high pH levels and is destroying the soil at the base causing dead root systems. #6 Over population is already happening. It's why millions are starving and having a hard time finding shelter. These population overloads also contribute to massive epidemics of illness. Why do you think it only takes weeks for certain strains of colds and flu to impact every country across the globe?

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that is not caused by obesity. It's also deadly, expensive, and fraught with health complications. I really wish they'd rename type 2 for people's fat jokes.

Sorry this was bothering me: Type 1 diabetes is not an autoimmune disease. It's when the pancreas can't produce enough insulin. So it's probably more accurate to call it a chronic condition. But I'm with you on the whole 'diabetes fat jokes' thing :)

Not sure if people are aware of this, but mild changes in temperature..even warming by a few degrees, destroys mountains of species. Right now the sturgeon population is dying because lake and river water temperatures are at an all time high. Polar bears are dying because the warmer weather is melting snow they rely on to stealthy approach and kill prey...it also melts the snow faster shortening their hunting season. Coral reefs..homes for thousands of aquatic species, are dying at an alarming rate take that aquatic life with it. We need to do something now. This isn't just some natural event. It's man made and, as we are the cause, we have the power to stop it.

Exactly in tropical forests and reefs which hold the majority of biodiversity globally, temperature fluctuations are not large. that means unlike the polar regions where temperature fluctuations from season to season are great these ecosystems remain at a fairly stable temperature. Meaning that all the species that exist there have evolved to thrive in a very small temperature zone. Even a small temperature increase can surpass many species critical maximum temperature and lead to mass death. This is true of the tropical forests and the ocean. CO2 capturing single celled organisms also have a maximum temperature and acidity threshold what happens when they stop sequestering CO2 and instead release it back into the atmosphere? Now thats the real scary though as they are responsible for capturing CO2 and releasing O2. When that process switches they will sequester O2 and release CO2. They produce 2/3 of the earth breathable O2.

I do not understand these deniers... even with a 5 year old’s grasp of science (which the majority of these people barely have) one cannot deny that it is within our ability to affect our climate in a disastrous way (which we are doing). So even if we have yet to negatively impact our climate (news flash: we have), why take the chance by continuing to pump tons of carbon in the atmosphere; who runs the country, the people or corporations?

Generally, people have their minds made up already and nothing anyone can say will change that. In fact, the harder you try to convince people that they're wrong the harder they'll cling to their beliefs. It has nothing to do with logic; it's strictly emotional. People are afraid to change their minds; that might mean admitting they were wrong, and it takes an open mind and courageous personality to do that. It's just so easy to remain blinded that it's pull is as strong as that of an addictive substance. Why should they make any effort to change their behavior? That requires work, and many are simply too lazy to do their small part. They want their Kool-Aid.
