I am a Russian paper artist and illustrator known as Talamaska. Two years ago I made my first series of paper illustrations of “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland” by L.Carroll. That’s where my way as a paper artist started. There were three things I liked the most: the sharp knife I use, finding secondary meaning in fairytales, and symbolism in illustration.
I designed and cut 5 Alice paper-cuts (25×25 cm) that were shown on my first personal exhibition in Moscow. Though time has passed, I’m still obsessed with the story – I want to speak about it more and from different angles. That’s why I have great plans this year for the new Alice series, and there’re some new paper-cuts I’d like to show as well.

Thank you! No, not often. I'm fine)) Usually it takes me from 8 hrs to 2 days to cut one piece(format and the amount of details matters ).
