My grandfather was an artpainter.🎨 Recently I came across his paintingpalette and painted him when he was 17 years old.
At the start of WOII he was a soldier, he survived the big bombardment of Rotterdam, but was sent to a labour camp in Germany 11 nov 1944.
End of the war he managed to escape with a friend and made it home safely back to his wife, she had just given birth to her first son (my father).
